Deviant: No Longer Human

Chapter 656 Ma Ziang!

Screech!

The car swerved slightly as Xinyue Zhilan slammed the brakes, her hands gripping the steering wheel like she was trying to strangle it. Her head snapped toward him, her eyes wide with disbelief and a growing vein pulsing on her temple.

"WHICH ONE?! What the hell do you mean, 'which one'?!" she yelled, her voice climbing several octaves.

Wang Xiao leaned back in his seat, unfazed, his lips curling into a smug grin. "Exactly what I said. You're gonna have to be more specific, Mom."@@novelbin@@

"!!"

Xinyue Zhilan's mind went blank for a second before erupting into chaos. Sons really were worse—way worse. Daughters might drain your wallet with clothes and makeup, but sons? Sons would give you a heart attack with their sheer audacity.

"Are you... Are you trying to kill me before my time?!" she hissed, taking a deep breath to calm herself, though her hands were itching to grab something—preferably something throwable.

"Relax, Mom, you're overthinking it," Wang Xiao said, suppressing a chuckle. "I'm just keeping my options open. You know, casting a wide net."

Xinyue Zhilan glared at him like he was an alien. "Casting a wide net? You're not fishing, you little punk!"

Wang Xiao just laughed under his breath, his nonchalance only making her more furious. This kid was going to be the death of her.

"..."

Xinyue Zhilan really wanted to give Wang Xiao seven years' worth of delayed beatings, but she had more important things to deal with.

Screech!

They pulled up near Fu Yuxin's house, and Wang Xiao's eyes immediately locked onto a parked Mercedes. A middle-aged man stood nearby, and Wang Xiao's first thought? Kill him.

His mood soured instantly. Up until now, his mother had been a footnote in his plans—single, independent, and not in any immediate need of his kind of attention. For once, he wasn't looking to complicate things by forcing her into that sort of relationship. He had no interest in chasing everything beautiful that moved. His focus was clear: securing his circle. That's why he'd rushed with his elder sister instead of playing it slow—cutting off loose ends was the key to control.

But this guy? This Ma Ziang? He was a strategic liability. Emotionally? He rubbed Wang Xiao the wrong way.

Still, Wang Xiao wasn't worried—yet. If anything had been going on, his extensive surveillance network would've tipped him off. This was just some corporate bootlicker trying to court his mother.

When Zhilan introduced the man as Ma Ziang, the managing director of her firm, things started clicking into place. Wang Xiao didn't pay much attention to her professional life, focusing instead on monitoring his sisters, lovers, and, occasionally, his daughter. But now, looking at Ma Ziang, he caught something familiar—the same trace of cold poison he'd once sensed on Wang Mei.

Ah. So that's how it is.

In a split second, he pieced together the situation, but he kept his mouth shut. He had other priorities for now.

____

The second they stepped into Fu Yuxin's place, Zhilan jumped straight into apologizing like her life depended on it. And for what? For his actions? Sure, spiking someone's drink and assaulting them was a serious crime in normal society, but in Wang Xiao's world? That was just another Tuesday.

Fu Yuxin sat stiff as a board, her face a cocktail of shock and humiliation as Zhilan tried to patch things up. It was painful to watch, really. Zhilan's words were polite, dripping with regret.

Honestly? Wang Xiao wasn't about to beg forgiveness for something he didn't regret. The bastard in him almost wanted to point out that Fu Yuxin should be thanking him—if anything, she was lucky to have survived the encounter.

Because if not for Zhenxi, Fu Yuxin would have been nothing more than a fleeting memory, a name scribbled among countless others on the ever-growing list of women who had crossed his path and been discarded.

But he held his tongue. Barely.

Things stayed awkward until Ma Ziang—the group's resident weasel—whipped out an NDA like it was the Holy Grail and slid it across the table with a smug little smirk. Fu Yuxin recoiled like it was a snake about to bite her. "No," she said, flat and firm, even as her trembling hands betrayed her fear.

Wang Xiao watched the scene with a growing sense of amusement. "Ohhh," he muttered to himself, the puzzle pieces falling into place. So that's why they dragged me here. Clean-up duty.

His gaze flicked to Zhilan. You dragged me here to fix this mess? The irony was delicious—he felt like one of those overpowered villains whose minions couldn't stop screwing up, forcing the big boss to step in personally.

But unlike those villains, Wang Xiao didn't see the need for all this drama. If someone didn't want to play ball, there were easier ways to break them.

When Fu Yuxin refused to sign, Ma Ziang leaned in, his voice dropping as he tried to turn up the pressure. "Miss Fu, let's not make this difficult. A simple signature, and we all walk away happy. You wouldn't want this to escalate, would you?"

"I said no," Fu Yuxin snapped, her voice cracking just enough to betray her nerves.

Wang Xiao's amusement started to sour. He didn't mind being a villain, but watching Ma Ziang act like he had any real power was grating. If anyone was going to bully Fu Yuxin, it sure as hell wasn't going to be this little worm.

Just as the atmosphere reached a boiling point, Wang Xiao felt a tug at his pants. He looked down to see Zhenxi, her small face twisted in confusion and anger.

"Daddy," she whispered, pointing at Ma Ziang. "Why is he talking so much? Go make him stop."

Wang Xiao smirked. "Oh? He's bothering you?"

"Yes!" Zhenxi puffed out her tiny chest, glaring at Ma Ziang like she was ready to take him on herself. "He's bad!"

"Hmm." Wang Xiao crouched, meeting her determined gaze. "And what do we do with bad people, Zi'er?"

"Make them disappear!" she declared with the kind of unshakable confidence only a child could muster.

Wang Xiao chuckled darkly. "Exactly. Watch closely, little one."

Standing tall, he strode toward the table, his movements slow and deliberate. Ma Ziang didn't even have time to react before—

Rip.

Wang Xiao grabbed the NDA and tore it in half with a lazy flick of his wrists. The scraps fluttered to the floor like ash from a fire.

"If she doesn't want to sign, she won't," he said, his tone cold enough to freeze the room. His eyes locked onto Ma Ziang. "Who the hell do you think you are?"

"!!"

Fu Yuxin flinched at his words, her face pale. She didn't know whether to feel relieved or terrified.

Ma Ziang shot to his feet, his face red with indignation. "Brat! How dare you—"

"SHUT UP!"

The shout wasn't Wang Xiao's.

It was Zhenxi, who stormed up to Ma Ziang and jabbed a tiny finger into his chest. "You're bad, and bad people should go away!"

Before anyone could process what was happening—

BOOM!

Ma Ziang flew backward like he'd been hit by a freight train, slamming into the wall with a crash that left cracks spiderwebbing across the plaster. He crumpled to the floor, groaning like a broken toy.

"Eh?" Zhenxi blinked, staring at her hands like they'd just betrayed her. "Did I do that?"

"..."

"..."

The room descended into stunned silence, save for the faint groans of Ma Ziang struggling to breathe.

Wang Xiao crouched again, holding out his hand for a high five. "Good job, Zi'er."

Zhenxi hesitated, then giggled and slapped her tiny hand against his. "He was bad!"

"Very bad," Wang Xiao agreed, standing up and brushing off his hands. "But now he's gone. Problem solved."

Everyone else? They weren't laughing.

Zhilan looked like she was ready to faint, while Fu Yuxin sat frozen, staring at Zhenxi with wide, disbelieving eyes.

Wang Xiao, on the other hand, found the whole thing hilarious. What could he say? Villainy ran in the family.

He scooped up Zhenxi, planting a kiss on her cheek like she'd just aced some sacred trial. The little girl giggled, proud and victorious.

Meanwhile, Ma Ziang, groaning and coughing up blood, glared at them through the haze of his pain. Wiping his mouth, he spat out, "You two—you'll regret this!"

Wang Xiao's eyebrow arched lazily, his smirk deepening. "Oh? Try pulling something funny with her, and I'll make sure your entire bloodline regrets it."

Threatening his daughter? In front of him?

BOOM!

Before anyone could blink, a gust of wind roared through the room as Ma Ziang slammed into the wall—again. This time, the impact shattered it, chunks of plaster and wood raining down as he crumpled like a broken doll.

"ARGH!" Ma Ziang's scream echoed through the room, but Wang Xiao barely spared him a glance.

"Wow…" Zhenxi gasped, covering her little face with her hands before peeking through her fingers. Her eyes sparkled with awe as she tugged on Wang Xiao's sleeve. "Teach me that, Daddy! Please!" Discover more stories at My Virtual Library Empire

Wang Xiao chuckled darkly, ruffling her hair. "In time, Zi'er. In time."

"Xiao Wang..." Xinyue Zhilan stood up shakily, her wide eyes fixed on Wang Xiao as if she'd just seen a ghost. What the hell was going on?

Since when did her son have superpowers? More importantly, Ma Ziang was her superior at work—well, if he survived this. But even that wasn't the biggest question on her mind. What was wrong with her son?

Fu Yuxin, on the other hand, clenched her teeth, trying to process the chaos. She wasn't used to violence—far from it—but she couldn't deny the flicker of satisfaction curling in her chest. Watching Ma Ziang get thrown around like a ragdoll? Yeah, she didn't hate it.
