Douluo: Transforming Xiao Wu into a Zerg Queen Was Just the Beginning

Chapter 75: Evolution – The Zerg Progenitor! The Origin of the Zerg!

Buzz—!

The seven spirit rings behind Lin Fan blazed brilliantly, radiating an intense crimson glow.

Suspended midair behind those rings was a massive black cocoon, floating ominously. Threads of soul power, like countless wisps of light, were continuously being drawn into it. Dark mist mixed with the crimson glow of the rings wrapped around the cocoon, obscuring what lay within.

Lin Fan frowned slightly, clearly confused by the sudden turn of events.

His Martial Soul—the white larva—had now undergone a complete transformation. That black cocoon hovering behind him... was that larva?

What the hell is happening now...?

He knew about mutated Martial Souls, twin Martial Souls, and even Martial Soul fusion techniques in Douluo Dalu.

But this? His Martial Soul behaving like a living organism... and now evolving?

That was something unheard of.

Even Tang San's Blue Silver Grass had only evolved gradually by absorbing suitable spirit rings and inheriting characteristics from powerful soul beasts.

But Lin Fan’s Martial Soul had skipped that slow evolution. It had formed a cocoon—like it was preparing to hatch.

This wasn’t just rare—it was absurd.

It was on par with Qian Renxue’s Seraphim evolving directly into a God-tier Martial Soul!

He couldn't make sense of what was happening, but he could clearly feel the cocoon voraciously absorbing his soul power—and fast. In just moments, nearly a third of his soul power had been drained.

And yet, the Martial Soul kept growing more solid. The cocoon pulsed, twisted, and twitched.

Instead of panicking, Lin Fan just grinned.

He plopped onto the ground, patted the surface of the creep beneath him, and several fleshy tubes rose up and connected to his body.

Soul power surged back into him through the tubes, continuously replenishing what the cocoon absorbed.

Need energy? Heh. Out of everything, soul power is the one thing I’ll never run out of!

If this were another soul master, they’d probably be pale with fear, worrying about being drained dry.

But the Zerg? The Zerg never lacked ways to restore energy.

And so, Lin Fan and his Martial Soul locked into a drawn-out battle of supply and demand. He fed it endlessly, and the cocoon consumed endlessly.

In no time, Lin Fan felt like he'd already cycled through his entire soul power reserves at least four times.

That was equivalent to the full soul power of a Title Douluo. Maybe even two Title Douluo, if this kept up!

Slurp, slurp—!

The black cocoon twitched violently. Its outer shell gradually became translucent, layered with a faint jade-like glow.

And then—finally—it began slowing down.

The absorption rate was dropping.

Lin Fan opened his eyes, a flash of clarity passing through them.

It’s almost done. Damn thing really doesn’t give me a break.

Gurgle—!

The cocoon stopped absorbing entirely. Its purple-black surface shimmered with that same jade-like sheen, and it began twitching violently—just like the hatching process of a Zerg unit.

Crack—crack—!

Fissures spread across the cocoon.

A jagged, black claw suddenly burst out, tearing the cocoon apart.

A monstrous, heavily armored creature clawed its way out, covered in jet-black chitin riddled with reverse-facing spikes. Its glowing crimson eyes seemed to pierce through space itself—deep, ancient, and filled with memories of endless time.

Its body was massive—rivaling even a Broodmother. Every inch of it radiated oppressive, terrifying power.

Though its form was undoubtedly Zerg in origin, it was far more savage and overwhelming than any of Lin Fan’s current units.

The armor was primitive, brutal. A storm of wild, primordial energy swirled around it.

And those eyes…

Those eyes were filled with pure, unfiltered bloodlust, and a knowledge of the cosmos itself.

Ancient. Mysterious. Terrifying.

Lin Fan’s heart skipped a beat. His eyelids twitched.

As he stared at this evolved Martial Soul, a chill ran down his spine.

It’s really… that one?!

This wild aura, that overwhelming size, that ancient, grotesque appearance...

There could be no mistake.

The Zerg Progenitor.

The first of its kind. The originator of the Zerg.

The progenitor of all Zerg strains—The Zerg Progenitor.

Every Zerg under Lin Fan’s command were modern variants—mutated offshoots, designed with adaptive genes optimized for versatility and conquest.

But the original Zerg, those born in primordial star systems, were known as Primal Zerg—savage, fearless, bloodthirsty, and brutally evolved.

Each one was vastly stronger than their modern counterparts.

If Lin Fan’s current Zerg were war machines…

Then the Primal Zerg were the embodiment of slaughter itself.

They lived on wild, untamed planets. Their only instincts were to kill and evolve. All their power came from consuming and adapting. Their lifespans were long, and their resilience unmatched.

They absorbed the essence of every prey they killed—becoming stronger with every hunt.

In truth, the Primal Zerg were the foundation of the entire Zerg race.

And The Zerg Progenitor, the one Lin Fan had just witnessed emerge from his Martial Soul, was the origin of it all. He had lived from the beginning of the Primal Zerg's existence, feeding off countless lifeforms, absorbing their essence.

He had witnessed the birth and extinction of entire civilizations. He had seen galaxies rise and fall. He was ageless and nearly indestructible.

The Zerg Progenitor was the mountain that loomed over all Zerg.

And now—he had become his Martial Soul.

Lin Fan stared at the towering spirit projection behind him, feeling both awe and… panic.

This is insane…

The very army he commanded was born from this ancient being—and now he had as his personal Martial Soul?

He gulped, hard.

Eyes locked with The Zerg Progenitor, Lin Fan reached out with his spiritual sense to connect with he.

Technically, he was now part of him. A Martial Soul shouldn’t have a will of its own.

And yet…

Those ancient, crimson eyes stared back at him, filled with time, war, and death.

He didn’t speak. He didn’t move.

But that gaze alone made Lin Fan feel as though an entire world had collapsed onto his chest.

BOOM!!!

The moment his spiritual power touched the projection of The Zerg Progenitor, Lin Fan’s mind erupted.

It was like his soul had been struck by a cosmic explosion.

His consciousness trembled—

—his very soul was being purified, rewritten, reforged.
