Douluo: Transforming Xiao Wu into a Zerg Queen Was Just the Beginning

Chapter 76 – The Zerg Progenitor Slain? Possession of Tang San!

“You’re a human?”

Before Lin Fan could speak, the Zerg Progenitor’s immense spiritual power surged directly into his mind.

A vast, ancient voice boomed within Lin Fan’s consciousness like the first light of creation piercing through the void—blinding and overwhelming. His mind and heart trembled uncontrollably under its impact.

Clenching his teeth and suppressing his discomfort, Lin Fan replied through his spiritual power, “That’s right. I, Lin Fan, current ruler of the Zerg, greet the honorable Zerg Progenitor!”

“Oh?”

The Progenitor responded with a low murmur, its deep gaze drilling into Lin Fan, unreadable and mysterious.

Meanwhile, Lin Fan was inwardly shocked.

His martial soul… actually had a consciousness of its own?

Even though it was the Zerg Progenitor, it was still his martial soul—awakened within his own body, unique to this world. Yet this creature had managed to cross from a parallel universe just to speak with him.

Just how powerful was the Zerg Progenitor?

After a moment of silence, its voice once again echoed in Lin Fan’s mind.

“Tch. When did the Zerg produce a second human ruler? What the hell are those filthy aberrants doing?”

Second human ruler?

Lin Fan was stunned for a moment before it clicked.

The Progenitor must be referring to Kerrigan. In the original StarCraft universe, she was transformed by the Swarm into the Queen of Blades, yet born human.

She was technically the first Zerg ruler of human origin.

So then… the Zerg Progenitor’s current consciousness must come from after Kerrigan had taken control of the Zerg?

Lin Fan’s mind raced. Narrowing his eyes, he boldly asked, “Then tell me, honored Zerg Progenitor… where are your original aberrant Zerg now?”

Boom!

The Progenitor let out a cold snort. A devastating burst of spiritual force exploded within Lin Fan’s mind.

Its voice roared like a great bell, “Arrogant human! Don’t think that just because you’ve become the Swarm’s ruler you can challenge me! I am the one true supreme sovereign of the Zerg!”

“Submit to me!!!”

As its voice rang out, the pressure in Lin Fan’s mind intensified—an invisible weight like a thousand mountains crushed down upon him.

The Progenitor’s colossal shadow glared with hollow, crimson eyes, bombarding Lin Fan’s spirit with surging pulses.

Yet, what surprised the Progenitor was that the expected agonized reaction never came.

Instead, Lin Fan stood casually before it, arms crossed, smiling playfully.

The Progenitor didn’t panic. Its eyes glowed even deeper red, and its spiritual might surged even more fiercely into Lin Fan’s mind.

But Lin Fan’s expression remained calm as he looked at the massive phantom of the Zerg Progenitor and said, “Don’t waste your energy.”

“I’ve figured it out. Before your death, you sealed the last fragment of your will into an egg and cast it into the void of time.”

As he spoke, Lin Fan couldn’t help but marvel.

To think the Progenitor was that powerful—even in defeat, it had managed to open a rift in space-time and leave a backup plan.

Truly a terrifying ancient entity.

He continued, “Any creature that picks up that egg would become the next Zerg ruler. And through the growth of this new Swarm, your consciousness would gradually reawaken until you completely seized control. Am I right?”

The Zerg Progenitor remained silent, its deep red eyes staring coldly at him.

“In other words, regardless of whether I awakened this martial soul or not, you would’ve found a way to fully manifest yourself.”

“Tsk tsk. Truly worthy of the title Progenitor—you really planned it all out.”

“But there’s something you didn’t know… This world—”

“Is Douluo Continent!”

“And you—are my martial soul! No matter what you once were, you’ll submit to me!”

“I am the true supreme ruler! You’re just a pitiful relic of a forgotten age, destined for destruction!”

A blood-red, savage glint burst from Lin Fan’s eyes as his aura surged, matching the Progenitor’s phantom without yielding an inch.

He forcibly severed the mental connection between them, his defiant spirit clashing head-on with the Progenitor’s will.

Still silent, the Progenitor’s eyes now glinted with a murderous intent. A thin thread of spiritual energy stabbed straight into Lin Fan’s consciousness.

Boom!

A blast of pure spiritual power erupted from Lin Fan’s body, shaking the Progenitor’s massive phantom!

Eyes blazing crimson, Lin Fan sneered, “I told you, you wretched worm… don’t you get it yet? I am the only ruler of the Zerg!”

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

At that very moment…

The entire Zerg Swarm responded.

Millions of Zerg—from Zerglings and Hydralisks to Overlords and Mutalisks…

Whether they were in Star Dou Forest, in Holy Soul Village, or even deep within the Star Luo Empire…

Every single Zerg unit, including the Queen of Blades, Xiao Wu, froze for a split second.

Their eyes dulled as if lifeless—then immediately regained their brilliance.

Buzz... buzz... buzz...!

The Zerg Progenitor’s gaze suddenly dulled, confusion and daze filling its eyes. The deep crimson glow in its phantom slowly fragmented and faded away.

What remained was an empty husk of spiritual energy, glowing faintly red, its expression blank and feral.

Lin Fan clutched his head, his eyes also slightly dazed.

So vast... too vast...

To erase the Progenitor’s final will completely, Lin Fan had burned through every bit of his authority over his own martial soul—plus the spiritual energy of his entire Zerg Swarm.

The Progenitor was powerful—yes—but it had overlooked one fatal flaw.

The new Zerg may not be as individually strong as the ancient aberrants…

But they were absolutely obedient to their ruler.

And because they’d evolved into mechanized, decentralized units, all their spiritual power could be instantly recalled by the ruler!

The Progenitor, once a godlike existence on its original world, never imagined that it would be annihilated the moment it revived.

Lin Fan had truly experienced what it meant to wield world-ending power.

Unfortunately… his body couldn’t withstand it.

If he could, spiritual power alone would’ve been enough to crush this entire world.

Nuoding City – Elementary Spirit Master Academy

A black-haired boy sat attentively, listening as the teacher explained how to channel and release a martial soul. In his young hand, a stalk of Blue Silver Grass shimmered with vibrant life, swaying gently.

Suddenly, a wisp of black mist flickered past, and one of the leaves turned dark blue.

“Jie jie jie jie jie… What a powerful soul force… Lin Fan, wait for me… I will return!!!”
