Chapter 287 Otherside

Uriel's consciousness was transported to the mystical realm, more specifically, to Water warlock's lair. The young archaeology student opened his eyes and saw the smooth stone bricks similar to the Mayan architecture, but the design was different.

"What is this place?" He asked, his voice echoed in the chamber.

"Ah! What are you doing here!?" Water warlock was startled and hid the Lewd Ladies magazine behind his back.

"That's funny, I wanted to ask you the same thing." Uriel said with an unamused tone of voice.

"I am the mighty..."

"Yes, yes, I know that already. Now tell me what I want to know." Uriel cut the ancient almighty being inside his body short.

"I answer no questions, puny human."

"I thought you'd say something like that, but you see, I came prepared. If you don't spill the beans, I'll kill Nika."

"You wouldn't..."

"I would kill her."

"You can't!"

"I can kill her."

"Stop saying that." Just hearing Uriel say those words got him anxious.

"What? That I will kill Nika?"

"I don't care about her, you can do whatever you want, just don't say it in front of me." Water warlock looked the other way trying to hide how uncomfortable he was by the thought of Nika getting killed.

"So it's true. The reason why I started having this weird feelings is because these are your feelings."

Water warlock looked defeated, he wondered when did things start going wrong in his life. Was it when he created the orichalcum dagger? Was it when he caused the universal deluge? Or was it when he allowed his best friend marry the woman he loved so many eons ago? There were no answers for him and the only thing he could do was to accept his fate and try to make the most of it.

He dropped his antsy attitude and became a lot more calm, something that reminded Uriel of himself back when he cleared his mind to think better.

"You are correct, the sacrifice you performed linked us both. I know you remembered that I ate your heart, but what you forgot was that you ate mine too. Our feelings are swapped and let me tell you, this is the most terrible punishment for such a noble being like myself."

"Let me get this straight, if I activate the blessing your feelings start becoming mine and mine become yours?"

"Something of the sorts. You offered your feelings to me, the same as I offered mine to whoever picked the dagger. This is some sort of possession, the more you use my energy the more you become like me."

"Does the same apply to you?" Uriel said as small shimmering particles started coming out of his hands.

"It seems you're running out of time," Water warlock said with a smirk and then continued. "Buy another toy at your museum, one strong enough to withstand my consciousness and we'll be able to speak again. Also, if you find out the whereabouts of my people and what happened to them, I promise I'll give you back your feelings."

"No, wait! I have many more questions."

"You do, but you're also dying. What's more important, to know all the answers or to live another day?"

Uriel's body tossed and turned the whole time he was on the mystical realm and Medusa held him close to her chest to bring him some comfort as she knew he was most likely facing the dreadful creature that inhabited his body.

She placed her hand on Uriel's sweaty forehead expecting it to be cold, but it was the exact opposite. It was so cold, had it not been for his constant movement and the unintelligible words that came out of his mouth in a coarse voice, she might have thought he was dead already.

Uriel became rigid for a moment and then he opened his eyes like nothing happened.

"Did you see its plate?"

"What plate? What are you talking about?"@@novelbin@@

"The truck that ran me over." He said faintly.

"Stop messing around, I was really worried about you." She said teary eyed as she stroked his forehead, combing his hair all the way back with her soft fingers.

"I'm sorry for worrying you."

"So, how did it go?"

"Not great, but not bad either. At least I know what I need to do next... I guess."

"Did you... get your feelings back?" She asked with a glimmer of hope in her crimson eyes, but Uriel shook his head. Only then did she realize her blouse was still unbuttoned and Uriel was resting his head directly on her bra which caused her to fall into a daze. She didn't mind it, but she didn't want Uriel to think she was trying to make a move on him or something.

"Does this bother you?" Uriel shook his head some more just to tease her.

"N-no." She blushed in red hot embarrassment.

"It's what you get for almost killing me. And also, this..." Uriel looked her directly on the eye and placed his hand on the back of her neck, drawing her close to him without using any force at all. Medusa unconsciously followed the movement until her lips landed directly on his' and they remained like that as though fearing to break the moment with a sudden movement.

It wasn't the usual peck on the cheek, but it somehow transmitted the same tenderness and intimacy they shared. They softly rubbed their lips until time became meaningless

When the kiss ended, Medusa heaved a long breath that sounded almost like a faint moan. Steam came out of her mouth and it was as though a spell was broken and they were suddenly back to reality.

"I learned my lesson." Uriel said as he stood up to gather his belongings.

"What lesson?" Medusa asked, still mesmerized by the beautiful moment they shared.

"I will never again bet with you." He chuckled.

Even if his feelings hadn't yet returned, Medusa knew there was something of the old Uriel in that kiss. She touched her lips with a hand and grabbed Uriel's hand with the other, intertwining her fingers into his.
