Chapter 327 The cave of the cannibals Part 2

It was only after throwing himself into the dark pit that opened that Uriel realized that the trapdoor will soon close by itself, meaning it was a one way trip and the only way out was through. Being trapped in a sealed chamber was already bad, but for Uriel it could possibly mean an eternity of that as he didn't know if he was even able to age at this point.

Water warlock provided him many benefits that allowed him to take risks no one else could, but at the same time it added a whole set of different dangers. Being eaten alive, being trapped or anything that could potentially get him stuck for eternity.

Still, as he fell into the dark pit the only think he could think of was of his friends and how even risking being trapped forever was nothing compared to the thought of them dying.

Uriel then landed on a rock ledge, which caused him some pain but no harm whatsoever. Everything was dark, but he didn't miss something that came flying directly from bellow the pit and crashed onto the now sealed trapdoor.

"Nooo!" Sam shouted when he confirmed that he was still trapped.

"Sam! You're ok!?"

"Uriel, what are you doing here?"

"I came to rescue you all, where are the others?"

"Thank you! Thank you! We're losing our minds down here." Sam said as he leaned closer for a hug, realizing too late that one of his friend's arms was missing. "What happened to you?"

"I sort of lost it trying to open the entrance."

"So you did it! Quick! do it again!"

"I- I can't. The door closes as soon as the lever is let go." Uriel didn't understand what was going on but he noticed how Sam sounded so worried.

"You shouldn't have come, you really shouldn't. Why didn't you at least wait for me to fly outside!?"

"How was I supposed to know you would do something like that?" Uriel rebuked and Sam finally calmed himself down.

"There's no point in arguing, just come with me."

"Hang on a second," Uriel took the chance to buy himself some clothes from the souvenir shop, as well as some flashlights. "let's go."

With Sam's help, Uriel was able to land safely on the bottom of the pit and what he saw left him speechless. The flashlight revealed an open area where all of his crew mates and friends, along with the inhabitants of Hanga Roa, were lying flat on the ground.

"What happened here!?" Uriel let out thinking they were dead, but his loud voice prompted those with traits to wake up abruptly.

"We have no means to know the time of day, so we adjusted our time schedules to keep some sort of sanity." Sam explained, though Uriel was more interested in looking for his friends.

The first one he found was Medusa, whose trait made her stand out like a sore thumb in the dark cave. She was wearing Sam's T-shirt and the bikini bottom, which was hardly enough clothing to keep warm in such a humid and cold place.

"Uriel! You're finally here! I knew you'd come for us. I..." Medusa said teary eyed as she went in for a hug. She was cold and her clothes were wet, which came as no surprise given the conditions of the cave, but before Uriel could reply Sam cut Medusa short.

"Don't be so excited yet, this moron came in and the trapdoor closed behind him," Sam scoffed and then continued. "anyway, now that you're here there's a lot of things you need to know."

"Shhh! Let's talk about that in private, I'll go get the girls." Medusa shushed.

Uriel wondered why his friends were scattered all over the place instead of remaining together, but he hoped that the explanation he would receive would make sense of things. Sam led Uriel to the other side of the cave, where the dirt on the ground gave way to something similar to gravel that made a crunching sound at every step.

It could have been many different things like gravel, sand, sea shells, but given the name of the cave Uriel already knew it was most likely crushed human bones. After a few minutes of awkward silence, Medusa brought Nika, Luna and also a woman Uriel didn't know.

"This is Ika, a local, and I think it's better if the explanation comes from her mouth." Medusa introduced the woman next to her.

"It's nice meeting you, Ika." Uriel said, trying to act as though Luna wasn't desperately rubbing herself all over him like a puppy that missed its owner.

"Is it true that you came from outside!? Did you see my boyfriend? He's a handsome man on his thirties, he has kind eyes and the most gentle expression on his face all the time." The woman whisper-shouted.

"Yes, I came from outside. I don't know how to tell you this but," He really had no clue about the proper way to express his condolences to someone who just lost someone. "the only person I met was a hermit that wears camo pants, has a grumpy expression set on his face and a weird beard."

"It's him! That's Manu!" The woman cheered with what little energy was left in her famished body. "I'm so glad he's safe, why didn't he come with you?"

"I wonder the same thing," Uriel shrugged his shoulders. "anyhow, someone needs to explain what's going on right now."

"I'll tell you what's going on," Someone that resembled Nika, only way thinner and paler, limped towards Uriel. "I need it, give it to me." She continued trying to sound sexy, only her tone of voice was disturbing.

Before Uriel could say anything, Nika knelt down in front of him and let herself fall into Uriel's shadow.

"There's so much to explain, but I don't know what would be the point. There's nothing you can do to help us now. We're all doomed." Ika's expression became grim.
