Chapter 282: Chapter 282 Setting Out for True Dragon Gully (4)

“Yo, missy~”

Ye Nai generously tilted her chin towards them before stowing the vehicle into the Space.

The private army’s warriors, who had been chuckling before, immediately put on serious expressions, and the soldiers guarding the military vehicles also turned their gaze in her direction, with both team leaders positioning themselves near Ye Nai.

Then, Ye Nai released her 800-square-meter electric awning.

Ever since its first deployment, her awning had never been retracted—it was ready to use as soon as it was taken out. All she had to do was use the remote control to turn on the lights.

The moment the awning made its appearance, the private army’s faces grew even more solemn, and the guy who had whistled earlier got his head smacked hard by his teammates.

Driving a civilian vehicle to this place alone, one had to be either a big shot, on a mission, or a big shot on a mission.

There were also soldiers with keen eyes in the military convoy who had started whispering among themselves.

“That’s a big shot, that awning is at least ten thousand cubic meters.”

“Are you sure you saw right?”

“Absolutely, just the floor space is eight hundred square meters, and it’s over ten meters tall—it looks like it’s four stories high even from this distance.”

“Man, this person is really young!”

“I guess it’s a big shot who came here to kill enemies on the border.”

“Daring to come up here in a house car, this is a true big shot.”

“Who’s gonna go give a heads-up that the road ahead can’t be taken by a house car?”

“Look, look, our two team leaders have already gone over.”

“The leader of the convoy from the other side has gone over too.”

“That battle team can’t sit still either.”

Under the watchful eyes of the soldiers, leaders from the three teams approached the clean, brightly lit electric awning.

Ye Nai had tied up one side of the awning’s door curtain to facilitate ventilation.

The team leaders standing at the entrance were surprised to find four sets of baths placed face to face inside.

Then, right in front of them, bang, another building appeared, with overhead beams brightly lit, allowing them to easily read the ‘Laundry’ sign.

The leaders exchanged looks, suddenly feeling both wet and cold, desperately in need of a hot shower.

A warrior, who looked to be the oldest, strode into the awning.

“Uh, how may I address the owner here?”

“Ye Nai, Ye of Yezi, Nai of ‘what to do’.”

Ye Nai warmly shook hands with the other party, and from the texture and strength transmitted through their palms, she could tell the depth of their capabilities.

“Boss Ye, did you come up here specifically for business?”

The captain’s attitude improved slightly. The mainstream social practice was to use Big Space Users as frail logistics personnel, even in the military where they trained daily. It was acceptable for their training scores to be a bit lower than combat troops—as long as they could protect themselves on the battlefield, that was enough.

However, if a Big Space User with exceptional combat abilities emerged, it basically meant one individual was equivalent to a whole squad. Such talent was highly valued wherever they went.

Ye Nai’s transmission of power let the captain know he had encountered one.

“No, no, no, I came up here to carry out killing missions; business is just a small side venture to earn some water and cleaning fees. Do you guys want a bath? I have twenty bathrooms, with clean water bought from the water plant, and the boilers heat water very quickly. A half-hour hot bath is forty bucks, the bathrooms have wet and dry areas separated. If you need to do laundry and drying, it’s all 100 bucks together, the washing machines automatically dispense detergent. There’s also a vending machine in the store, with cigarettes and alcohol I brought from Daijing.”

“Yes, yes, yes!” The listening combat squad captain dashed towards the laundry, “You guys chat slowly, I’ll check out the cigarettes and alcohol first!”

“Captains, how about a bath? If you don’t wash now, you might not get a turn later. There’s another convoy coming up, and my boilers can heat water in half an hour, just in time for when you finish eating.”

“Wash, wash, wash!” The two military convoy captains didn’t hesitate any longer and ran out, “Quick, quick, just cook something simple, we’ll come for a bath after eating.”

Seconds later, cheers of excitement from the warriors rang throughout the camp.

The private combat team members who overheard rushed into the canopy, greeted Ye Nai with a smiley “hello, Boss,” glanced around at the setup inside, and the next second charged into the laundry.

Ye Nai, with a smile on his face, went to light the boiler and check if the water in the storage tank was at a high level.

Excited cheers occasionally came out of the laundry. A few minutes later, they saw them running out holding cigarettes, beer, and snacks.

After they left, Ye Nai went in to restock, filling up the detergent boxes in the washing machines with liquid detergent.

Half an hour later, a team of warriors each carrying two bags, a large and a small one, came in. They first put their large bags in the laundry and then went to the bathrooms, scanning the code to pay for the hot water.

It took them just over ten minutes to finish bathing one by one. Ye Nai saw that the boilers had heated the water and that the steam in the bathrooms was mostly cleared by the exhaust fans. He went outside to call in the second batch for baths.

The private combat squad lined up last very consciously. They now had their wine, dishes, and cigarettes, and were quite content, not minding the wait.

Another half an hour passed, they finished bathing, and the military vehicles that were climbing up the mountain in the night were almost there, as the two convoys in the camp were swapping places.

When the bathrooms were reheated and ready for business again, the military convoy that had been blocked by the rockslide arrived.

They parked their vehicles, and the first one from the passenger seat of the lead vehicle entered the canopy, shaking hands with Ye Nai with a smile on his face.

The two exchanged a few friendly words. The man wasn’t surprised Ye Nai made it here so fast; they drove even more wildly with an empty vehicle on the descent. Anyone daring to undertake combat missions alone expected to drive crazily.

Soon, the warriors from this convoy went to bathe first and then cooked their meals. Once they were settled, the following convoys arrived, two groups at once.

These were precisely the two groups that had sandwiched Ye Nai during the traffic jam.

Late, she rode her motorcycle two kilometers to the rockslide. Those two kilometers accounted for only two convoys, with ten to twenty vehicles each. No wonder the midway rest stop was so large—it had to be big; the bigger, the better.

Some from the later arriving convoys recognized Ye Nai and shared the amusing story with everyone of how she had eaten a boxed meal in the RV and then dashed off on her motorcycle during the traffic jam.

Then everyone found out that the traffic was cleared up so quickly thanks to Ye Nai rushing ahead to remove the boulder and dirt. They thanked her and reminded her that the road ahead was tough, and her RV wasn’t a high-intensity off-road vehicle.

Upon learning her RV journey had come to an end, Ye Nai went outside the canopy to a slightly sloped area, deployed her RV and barrels, connected the high-pressure water gun, and gave the vehicle a bath.

After a good night’s sleep, she woke up at four-thirty the next morning. The light rain that started yesterday hadn’t stopped, and the ground was slippery and wet. The camp was busy with everyone getting up to wash and prepare breakfast, planning to set off before six and start the day’s journey.

Ye Nai cooked herself a large bowl of wontons with a dash of pepper powder, which she ate hot and steamy, breaking into a sweat in the cool early morning air.
