Chapter 60: Chapter 60 A Private Mission (2)
She immediately communicated with the crazily growing fungus within their bodies, instructing it not to suffocate them completely but to block most of their airways, leaving just enough breath for them to speak, as she had some questions to ask.
It was useful to control the fungus even through the human body.
The freely growing fungus could have completely blocked their lungs and air passages, but at her command, the fungus stopped reproducing.
Those who couldn’t breathe struggled painfully on the ground, gasping for air, but they couldn’t inhale enough oxygen, and bouts of darkness swept before their eyes.
Ye Nai watched cautiously, holding a rusty iron pipe in her hand. Seeing that they all lay on the ground, powerless to fight back, she bent down, searched them one by one, and disarmed them of the pistols and daggers hidden on each person.
She grabbed a weapon and immediately stowed it into her own space.
...
Having their weapons taken away sparked the instinct to resist in these nine big men, but they were suffocating and lacked the strength; those who tried to twist Ye Nai’s wrist were easily shrugged off by her.
“You, you…”
These men weren’t fools; even with oxygen-deprived brains, they had started to understand the situation.
They thought they were dealing with an easy target, a Big Space User, but she was actually a monster pretending to be weak.
“Come on, gentlemen, I’m leaving you just enough breath to talk, so tell me, what’s going on here?”
Ye Nai not only stripped them of their weapons but also removed their bulletproof vests, leaving them lying on the prickly wild grass in short-sleeved shirts and pants.
“Whoever speaks first will get to breathe.”
Ye Nai continued to communicate with her fungus.
The fungus constricted momentarily, and the men on the ground took a deep breath of fresh air, unable to help choking and coughing.
The next second, the painful sensation of suffocation returned.
“You, you…?”
“Who is the boss? Huh? Which one of you is the boss?” Ye Nai paced slowly among the crowd, “Hand over your boss, and I’ll drag him away, giving you underlings a chance to confess. Whoever speaks first may live, resist to the end, and you all die. I can still collect a bonus for delivering your corpses.”
“I don’t care whether you are rapists or Cult Members, I’m not interested in that; I only care that you are after me, luring me with 500,000 in cash, thinking it was some legitimate task, only for your purpose to be revealed the moment I got out of the car. Has the quality of evildoers declined this much? Don’t they pay attention to details anymore?”
Ye Nai rambled on, while the nine big men on the ground ignored her, each like a fish out of water, just gasping for air, extracting enough oxygen from that little bit of air to sustain their lives, their minds flashing through their lives like a carousel.
“Hey, why isn’t anyone talking?”
Ye Nai sighed as she watched each of the breathless big men.
“Alright then, if you don’t want to talk, you don’t want to talk. Good opportunity to conduct an experiment.”
Ye Nai took each of them into her space.
On a whim, she decided to do a live experiment to see if her space could store living things, because if it could, she would be rich, as live mutant plants and mutant beasts would sell for a high price outside.
Because they are too difficult to transport alive.
While transferring them to her space, she also dispersed the fungus in their airways, letting the fungus merge into their bodies to see if it could sustain their lives just as it had with the warriors.
If they died, that was fine; she genuinely didn’t care about their lives. Anyone who tried to harm her had to be prepared to face retaliation.
The idea was good, and the outcome was a surprise.
All nine men were alive in the space.
But not the lively, hopping kind of alive, more like a deep, hibernated state to avoid excessive consumption, deeper than being deeply asleep.
Ye Nai picked one who looked the smallest to release.
As soon as he was released, he came to life, gasping for air normally, and his opened eyes revealed a strong murderous intent. His robust physical fitness was rapidly recovering with his breathing.
It seemed he would soon be calm enough to jump up and start killing her again.
With just a thought from Ye Nai, several spores followed his inhalation into his body. In just one second, the air drifted away from him again.
Pleased to see his face change dramatically, Ye Nai, just like before, dispersed the fungus blocking his breathing and merged into his bloodstream before taking him back into the Space.
Once this person entered the Space, he went back into that dormant state.
Ye Nai itched to try and see what would happen if no spores were given when entering the Space.
But another thought struck her: bad move. She played enough, tidied up the people, rode her electric bike back. If no one saw her, fine, but if she bumped into someone she knew and was asked about it, how would she respond?
Confess that she was the real superpower master?
Impossible, absolutely impossible.
Ye Nai pondered back and forth for a few minutes and at last, biting her teeth, decided she still had to play her role completely.
She first released a person, controlled half of his breath with fungus. These big guys had strong cardiopulmonary function and used a lot of oxygen, not getting enough oxygen made them too weak to fight.
“Buddy, how does it feel to be oxygen-deprived? Comfortable?”
Ye Nai gave him a bulletproof vest with a cheerful smile.
“Don’t say I’m a ruthless killer. I’m giving you a chance. I’ve been in a bad mood lately and really want to vent. If you can beat me, I’ll let bygones be bygones regarding today’s incident.”
After Ye Nai finished speaking, she swung the rusty iron pipe in her hand, ready to practice her newly learned Short Stick Skill.
This first strike was a solid one, heavily crashing onto his shoulder.
He felt the pain and forgot the difficulty in breathing, countering with a punch that landed squarely on Ye Nai’s face, numbing her left cheek instantly.
Ye Nai was overjoyed; this was the effect she wanted.
If there were no signs of fighting, who would believe she had escaped from the hands of nine people when she got back?
But it truly hurt, playing such a painful strategy was not so easy.
Ye Nai’s iron pipe whooshed through the air while she agilely dodged with the basic footwork she had learned in boxing class—striking the chest, then the back, the legs, and then the arms.
The bulletproof vest did provide some protection, but Ye Nai’s iron pipe was a blunt object. She was strong and really put her back into it, causing fractures when hitting limbs and internal injuries when hitting the chest.
This man was literally beaten half to death by her, spitting out blood several times. Coupled with the inability to breathe, his body went limp and he lay down, ending his life.
He did not beg for mercy or confess to luring her until his death.
It was uncertain whether one should compliment his strong will.
Ye Nai collected the body, drank half a bottle of an energy drink, rested for a while, and then released another person. The same routine, at the cost of taking a few punches, the second person was also exhausted to death.
“Ouch, this really is physical work.”
Just defeating two people made Ye Nai hungry, which was also related to the time for dinner as it was already getting dark.
Ye Nai wiped her hands with a wet wipe, took out a bunch of camping gear, made herself dinner, ate satisfactorily, and continued the fight.
What do you think?
