Evolution begins with an ant colony

Chapter 234: [Bonus chapter] The Pain Of Ignorance

As she proceeded to rise on her feet, Akun’s voice echoed in a serious tone, In the language the humans understand, "I was not referring to you. Remain on your knees." His purple eyes shone slightly as he narrowed his cold gaze at Hestria.

Akun’s tone sent shivers down the spine of the trio. Kazor and Hiandra, not understanding what Akun said, thought they did something wrong, causing them to wear slightly worried expressions on their faces.

Understanding his words, Hestria simply remained on her feet, not daring to go against the being before her.

Kazor and Hiandra still looked slightly worried, prompting Akun to speak to them in words they understood, putting them at ease, "You both don’t have to worry. You can both be on your way now. Your job here is done." His voice boomed across the throne room.

Kazor and Hiandra looked relieved. They then gave Akun a bow, saying, "Thank you, my liege. We’ll be on our way now." They both slowly headed towards the massive doors, which swung open, and they exited the throne room. Once they did, the doors closed slowly after them with a loud thud.

Once Kazor and Hiandra left, Akun let out a massive sigh—one that seemed to send chills down Hestria’s spine. He then slowly tilted his head to the left, resting it in his arm that was on the throne’s armrest. Every second simply accelerated Hestria’s heart rate. Suddenly, Akun’s voice echoed within the throne room as he asked, "Do you know why I made them bring you here?

It’s because you did something wrong, what do you think it is?" His tone was rather nonchalant.

Hestria trembled with fear. Summoning her courage, she managed to give a reply, "I honestly don’t know. Please enlighten me."

Akun then let out a sigh as he closed his eyes. Suddenly, he opened them, his gaze narrowed, and his purple eyes shone slightly.

Meanwhile, the guards outside the throne room suddenly heard a very loud boom coming from inside. The walls shook for a moment. Both guards were worried, momentarily gazing at each other. They both proceeded to quickly open the doors and find out if that human dared to attack their liege. @@novelbin@@

As the doors swung open, and the guards rushed in, their voices echoed, "Are you okay, my liege?" The Kingin guard’s voice echoed, wearing a visible worried expression.

"Are you hurt anywhere my liege?" the evolved ant guard’s asked, clearly worried.

But what they saw next was rather confusing to them. Akun was still seated on his throne, and there was not a single scratch on him, neither did it look like he was attacked in any way. So what was the source of that loud sound from earlier?

Suddenly, the guards heard another sound, a loud thud, followed by the clang of armor hitting the ground. Both of them turned their gazes to the source of the sound, which was on the left.

What they saw next slightly confused them, their widened gaze was proof of that. The woman that was escorted here by the beast folk tribesmen earlier was slowly rising to her feet. The armor she had worn earlier was completely shattered and in shambles on the floor beneath her. Blood flowed from both sides of her mouth, and there was blood streaming from the left side of her forehead.

She held her abdomen with her right hand, gritting her teeth, and her breath came out as ragged gasps. All were clear signs that she had been hit by something so powerful it rendered her in a near-death state.

There was a massive crater on the wall, much higher than the ground level where she rose from, a clear sign she was sent flying by the same force that hit her. It was the result of Akun’s aspect power.

Suddenly, Akun’s voice echoed, directed at the worried guards. "You both don’t have to worry," he slowly stood up from his throne and began descending the stairs. "As you can see, I have everything under control here. So, you can both go back to your stations."

"R... right," the guards stuttered as they both slowly proceeded to step out of the throne room and closed the doors behind them.

As the doors finally closed, Akun mumbled, "Now that they are gone, why don’t we try this again?" His purple eyes shone slightly. In that moment, his aspect power surged forward, enveloping Hestria in it’s purple hue, and it proceeded to swiftly pull her back to the position she was kneeling initially, forcing her back on her knees.

Hestria coughed up blood as she was forced onto her knees. She had suffered serious internal injuries, and the sudden action of being forced to her knees caused her to cough up blood.

Akun then began, "I will ask again, you have done something wrong, what do you think it is?" Akun gazed down at her intensely; his eyes shone brightly, and the atmosphere in the throne room became so tense it was literally harder to breathe in.

As Hestria gazed back at Akun, managing to catch her breath, she mused inwardly, "What’s he talking about? I thought it was something he wanted to teach me, but with the invisible force he used to send me flying and writhing in pain, I’m sure it’s something else.

And from what he is saying, it is something I’m supposed to know..." Hestria gritted her teeth as she mused further, her thoughts clouded with panic. "But what could it possibly be?"

As she continued to feel Akun’s intense gaze on her, she started to feel compelled to give an answer quickly. Something inside her was screaming, saying if she failed to do so soon, Akun would punish her again. That thought terrified her. She didn’t know exactly what was going on, and the thought of feeling that pain she felt earlier again terrified her, prompting her to mumble.

Her words choked due to her damaged lungs.

"W-well, I-I, I g-guess it’s because..." She suddenly started to tear up. The fear that overcame her made her tremble all over as she began to bawl her eyes out.
