She moved closer and sat next to Sylvan Cheney, focusing her gaze on the tablet.
Quickly, Sylvan Cheney opened a webpage and handed the tablet back to her.
“Use this.” He spoke casually.
This was a webpage that Joan Harry had never seen before, which immediately sparked her interest!
“Mr. Cheney, I didn’t know about this, thank you so much!”
“There’s a lot of financial information here, you can try and have a look.”
“Yes!” Joan Harry scrolled through the tablet cheerfully, her eyes shining with excitement. “I couldn’t find a lot of information I wanted. Mr. Cheney, how did you discover this place?”
“The Cheney Family has recently started a project in this area. It was developed independently by our technical department.”
“Ah, so it’s the Cheney family’s website. I am so grateful to you, Mr. Cheney. You helped me a great deal.” Joan Harry laughed, “I was having a hard time finding enough resources for my thesis and wanted to make it stand out.”@@novelbin@@
“You’re welcome.”
Joan Harry behaved as if she had stumbled upon a treasure, propping her chin up on her hands, and scrolling through the tablet, reading line by line.
She was particularly serious when studying these materials.
Every time she stumbled upon something she didn’t understand, she’d quietly ask Sylvan Cheney. He would always kindly explain it to her.
Before they realized it, the car had stopped in front of the Harry family’s villa.
“Miss Harry, we’re home.” The driver turned around to announce.
“Oh, thank you.” Joan Harry quickly put away the tablet.
Outside, the rain continued to pour.
The Harry family’s servant stood next to the car, holding a large umbrella.
“Mr. Cheney, thank you. I’m home now. Farewell.” Joan Harry got out of the car, standing in the rain and waving goodbye to Sylvan Cheney.
Despite the cold outside, she didn’t seem to notice, picking her way through the rain in her high heels.
“Your notebook.” Sylvan Cheney bent over to hand her the notebook she’d left behind.
“I’m so careless. Thank you, Mr. Cheney. Take care on the rainy road.” She held the notebook to her chest, waving and smiling faintly.
“Hmm.” Sylvan Cheney merely responded.
In the rain, the driver hit the accelerator again.
The car maintained its slow pace, the windshield wipers worked tirelessly, clearing the rain from the windscreen.
The sky was heavy and the rain curtain hung low.
…
As the clock in the living room pointed to half-past two, Sylvan Cheney walked through the living room door.
The villa was quiet, free of any noise.
Upstairs was pitch black, Jasmine Yale and Chale Cheney’s rooms were shrouded in darkness.
Sylvan Cheney changed his shoes and headed straight for Jasmine’s room.
With the door slightly ajar, he didn’t turn on the light, advancing towards the bed in the weak light.
Jasmine slept soundly, her long eyelashes resting against her cheeks, her hand clutching the quilt, her body slightly curled up.
Chale Cheney slept next to her, like a kitten, bundling up in the bed.
Sylvan Cheney watched her profile, bending over to plant a light kiss on her rosy lips.
“Mmm…” The coolness of Sylvan Cheney’s lips made Jasmine furrow her brows.
Her lips carried a faint sweet scent, sparking the desire within Sylvan Cheney, quickening his pulse.
Sylvan Cheney pressed her shoulder, moving his lips against hers, reluctant to let go.
Her lips were so soft, radiating allure.
“Mmm…” A groggy sound escaped her mouth.
Sylvan Cheney found it increasingly difficult to control himself, his mind losing all reason.
He kissed her lips, not allowing her to resist.
The kiss was as intense as a raging storm.
Jasmine, sensing someone, struggled to open her eyes.
What do you think?
