The call was from the Semi-Wild Area Management Office of the neighboring reserve.

Madam Mendun'er had gone crazy, bitten a giant panda, and it looked like she was out for blood.

That panda was purely captivity-bred, weaker in combat than Mendun'er, and got beat without being able to fight back at all.

The staff at the wild area had tried everything but couldn't stop Mendun'er, lots of barrier nets had been torn, and now Mendun'er was guarding by the tree, trapping the panda up there for almost six hours already.

Usually, humans wouldn't intervene in conflicts between pandas in the semi-wild area.

But this time, Mendun'er's relentless pursuit gave off a vibe of do-or-die.

Now, the leaders were discussing whether to resort to some method, knock Mendun'er out first, and then rescue the terrified giant panda.

"They blew a sedative dart, but Mendun'er was fearless, and we didn't dare continue in case we hurt her. No choice, Mr. Chen, we had to ask if you might have any ideas."

The voice from the other side was bitterly frustrated, clearly at wit's end.

Seeing Mendun'er could still communicate, Chen Ying also relaxed, sat down, started petting and feeding her.

"What got you so angry?"

That whole farcical mix-up even angered the fierce Grandma Mendun'er, causing a huge loss.

Chen Ying finally soothed Mendun'er and was walking it to the other side to facilitate the others who were lowering the beat-up giant panda from the tree for a physical check.

After pacifying Grandma Mendun'er, she seemed ready to leave.

"There aren't any handsome male bears here. Are you deceiving me?"

"Cross my heart, I'd deceive anyone but you. How about this? I'll first collect some photos and pheromones of handsome bears, and after you make your choice, we can arrange a meeting. How does that sound?"

Mendun'er lay back, frustrated, and sprawled out while staring up at the sky.

Why was finding a male bear so hard? All it wanted was someone good-looking, strong, and big. Was that too much to ask?

Chen Ying heard its muttering and couldn't resist giving its cheeks a vigorous rub.

"You didn't say that initially."

Mendun'er turned over, found some bamboo to eat, and then chose a satisfying large tree, climbed up, and settled down comfortably, snuggling against a branch and sleeping soundly.

Once sure that Grandma wasn't in a foul mood anymore, Chen Ying left carrying an apple bag.

"How is it, that panda okay?"

"It's just some external injuries, but its face got bitten and got slashed with a scar—likely disfigured."

The staff member seemed helpless, "We've already arranged for a DNA sample identification, should have results by tomorrow."

No wonder Grandma Mendun'er got so upset, she was here for matchmaking, not to find a girlfriend.

Eligible pandas are scarce and those convenient to transfer even more so. Chen Ying's proposal, although a test of patience, actually turned out to be cost-effective.

"But with Mendun'er's temperament, can it listen to us?"

"No worries, you prepare on your end, and I'll come assist when it's time."

With Chen Ying's assurance, the staff member was half relieved.

Today, with Grandma so angry, the moment Chen Ying appeared and spoke a few words, it calmed down, clearly showing its different attitude towards Chen Ying.
