Love is a peculiar thing.

Just because of that commotion, just because Alexander Summers casually spoke a few sentences, Purple Summers once again became optimistic, full of longing for their future together.

Evelyn Willard was not a problem.

Nathaniel Summers was not a problem.

The head of the Howard Family wasn’t a problem, nor was the sibling relationship.

As long as she went to Pearlpoint City, she could change her last name to Ruan and declare herself as Alexander Summers’s fiancée.

Even though Alexander had never proposed, Purple had taken it upon herself to ascribe a social status for herself in her heart.

After going to school the next day, Purple told Zara Jameson and Jane McCain that she would be transferring next semester.

Zara Jameson asked in surprise, “Are you going abroad too?”

Purple shook her head, smiling, “I might go to Pearlpoint City to study. Anyway, there’s only half a semester left, it doesn’t really matter where I study.”

“Why suddenly move to Pearlpoint City?” Jane McCain couldn’t understand.

“My family is moving there, so I can’t continue studying here,” Purple explained.

“So we’re all leaving…” Zara felt a bit sad. Originally there were four of them. Then Ryan Wesley transferred, Jane McCain was going abroad after the New Year, and now Purple was leaving too, leaving her alone.

“It’s okay, we can chat online, and do video calls,” Purple said optimistically, smiling, “And after graduation, we can get together again for fun. Transportation is very convenient now.”

Jane McCain also comforted Zara, “Right, think about it this way, when we travel to Pearlpoint City in the future, we can save ourselves a hotel bill. We can just stay at Purple’s place, which is a great deal!”

Zara Jameson laughed at Jane McCain’s comment.

In the middle of the afternoon class, the teacher came to the classroom and called for Purple, saying someone was looking for her.

When Purple went out, she found out it was Nathaniel Summers looking for her.

In front of the teacher, Purple did not show much and casually called out, “Big Brother.”

The teacher kindly said, “You have family matters to attend to, go ahead home.”

Purple’s academics weren’t something to worry about, and she had already received an offer from the institute of advanced study; her remaining lessons could be taken lightly. Therefore, the teacher was relaxed about her leaving.

Purple followed Nathaniel Summers out of the school and he opened the car door, gesturing for her to get in.

Purple stood by the car and didn’t move, asking him, “Where are you taking me?”

It couldn’t be back to the Summers Family; it was obviously an excuse by Nathaniel Summers.

Nathaniel’s hand stayed on the door as he turned his head to look at her. With a cynical smirk, he said coldly, “To Prosperity Street, to see if Evelyn Willard is still alive.”

Purple pursed her lips while looking at him and stood still without getting into the car.

Nathaniel laughed softly, not rushing her and seated himself in the driver’s seat, waiting quietly.

Purple saw him in the rearview mirror, the corners of his mouth curled up with a mocking smile…

Last night when she mentioned Evelyn Willard to Alexander Summers, he didn’t show any strangeness, and she believed Alexander. Nathaniel’s words simply didn’t hold water.

Nathaniel started the car, holding the steering wheel with both hands, and casually chatted with Purple.

“Did you mention Evelyn Willard to him yesterday?” he asked.

Purple sat in the back holding her bag, silent.

Nathaniel then teased, “If he sent someone to kill Evelyn Willard, would that disappoint you? Would you cry in sorrow?”

Purple replied with a cold face, “He would never do that!”

Nathaniel heard the anger in her voice and smiled as he glanced at her in the rearview mirror. He then turned his attention back to the road ahead, speaking in an unhurried tone, “Angry? Let’s switch topics then, let me think… Has Alexander Summers encountered any trouble lately?”
