Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime

Chapter 760 - 760 Is This Love_1

Chapter 760: Chapter 760 Is This Love_1

Purple Summers’s head felt like it had turned into a swamp, heavy, sticky, with all thoughts and ideas jammed together, solidifying her in the mud.

She stood there blankly, like a lifeless puppet.

Alexander Summers had known about the matter of borrowing a body to revive a soul for a long time.

Mr. Ghost Hayes had been contacted in advance.

Jade Carlson had been working for the Howard Family all along.

Evelyn Willard might know something, or she might not know anything at all, yet Alexander’s nature was always to prefer killing wrongly than to miss out; he was about to leave Clearwater, and naturally, he would want to clean up any loose ends before departing.

...

The bright light in the basement room shone on Purple Summers, yet her vision darkened in waves; she felt herself plummeting into a bottomless abyss, surrounded by pitch-black darkness where not even her hand in front of her face was visible!

She wanted to believe in Alexander! She wanted to find even the slightest reason in this evidence, the slightest excuse that could absolve him!

But she couldn’t find it!

Not a single bit!

She collapsed onto the floor, the photographs in her hands spilling everywhere — women of all shapes and colors, vibrant, beautiful, brimming with youth, were all spare soul artifacts he had collected.

If she had revived in May Francis’s body as he wished, while also losing her memory, would she foolishly have taken him as her lover, naturally marrying him and having children?

Did he think her life could be fabricated and toyed with at his will?

Purple Summers felt like she should cry now, but the tears wouldn’t come; she exerted a lot of energy, but not a single drop fell, the pain that couldn’t be released built up inside her body, and her brain felt like it was about to explode!

She stayed alone in the basement for a long time until she heard the sound of a car engine outside and finally came back to her senses.

Alexander had arrived.

This was normal; she hadn’t come home so late, and Atra Blanc would definitely call her, but with the phone unreachable, Atra would tell Alexander.

Purple could almost imagine Atra Blanc’s anxious words, “Alexander, your sister is nowhere to be found, she hasn’t come home all night, and the driver who went to pick her up at school didn’t see her…”

What would Alexander reply?

He might say, “Mom, don’t worry, I’ll go look for her.”

Alexander could locate her exact position at any time.

Purple Summers looked down at the ring on her finger, with its embedded tracking chip; previously, it made her feel cherished, but now, she could only sense a silent mockery…

She struggled to stand up, bent down to pick up the photographs from the floor, and left the basement.

Her steps felt as if they were filled with magma, moving sluggishly with each one.

As she reached the last step, Alexander had just come in through the door. His gaze passed over her, toward the basement behind her, and then drooped slightly to the stack of photos in her hands.

Purple looked at him intently and asked, “Did you order someone to kill Evelyn Willard?” @@novelbin@@

Alexander came over, taking her hand, “Purple, let’s go home first…”

Unmoved, Purple yanked her hand away and asked again, “Was Evelyn Willard killed by you?”

Alexander remained silent.

Purple’s heart sank completely, into the mire, no longer seeing a shred of light.

“What about Jade Carlson? Did you arrange her death?” she asked.

Alexander frowned, his voice low, “Yes.”

Yes…

He said yes.

Tears gushed forth as if a floodgate had opened, filling her eyes in an instant. They surged out so rapidly that Purple even felt a sting in her eyes!

Her legs gave way, and she crouched down, allowing the tears to drip onto the floor one by one, in a torrential rush, beyond her control.

Opening her mouth to breathe deeply, a sorrowful sob spilled from her throat instead; some tears flowed into her mouth, tasting bitter.

“Purple, Purple…” Alexander held her, calling her name continuously, “Purple, I love you.”

Purple looked up at him, her tears blurring her vision. She wondered: Is this love?
