Chapter 804: Chapter 804 Request_1
Caitlin Carter was somewhat astonished as she instinctively glanced at Old Master Simonson.
As they were asking for a favor, naturally, some form of compensation should be expected. They had been immersed in joy along the way and forgot that Purple Summers might have demands.
Old Master Simonson also looked towards Purple Summers with a hint of confusion.
Caitlin Carter said, “Of course… Ms. Summers, whatever your request is, we will try our best to accommodate it.”
As she spoke, she also felt anxious, not knowing what Purple Summers might ask for. Would she make things difficult for them? Would she request something they couldn’t fulfill? But… they had already arrived in Kingsley, so why hadn’t she made any requests before coming?
Caitlin Carter, recalling what Violet Nelson had said, was unsettled.
Purple Summers said, “Could you help me find a hotel near the hospital? Somewhere close to the hospital would be convenient for the check-ups, and I’m not comfortable anywhere else. Besides, it wouldn’t be easy to explain if outsiders saw me getting too close to the Simonson Family.”
Upon hearing this, Caitlin Carter was stunned. They had originally planned to take Purple Summers home and treat her well, unaware that she would request to stay in a hotel upon her arrival…
Seeing her at a loss, Purple Summers smiled brightly, “Mrs. Carter, you really don’t need to worry too much. Just treat me like any ordinary donor. As far as I know, donors and recipients aren’t allowed to meet before or after the surgery. Let’s just follow the rules and have the hospital staff contact me directly, to avoid unnecessary trouble.”
Caitlin Carter’s face flushed, she stammered, “Ms. Summers, we are very sorry for what has happened to you over the years, and this time we sincerely invited you…”
“I have lived well these past years.” Purple Summers stood firm, her gaze clear and tranquil, “I understand your concerns, but it’s really not necessary. Whatever happened in the past, I was not involved and was unaware. To me, Simonson is just a foreign and distant surname. My coming here to donate bone marrow is just that, a donation, and I don’t think there’s any need for either side to complicate matters.”
Caitlin Carter looked toward her father-in-law.
After a moment of silence, Old Master Simonson said in a deep voice, “We will do everything according to Ms. Summers’ wishes.”
Purple Summers got her wish and checked into the hotel.
She neither wanted to accept any favors from the Simonson Family nor did she wish to antagonize them. The best approach was to keep a distance.
If she were to stay with the Simonson Family, she would have to make an effort to exchange pleasantries, deal with various people, and repeatedly explain that she truly held no grudge against Alexander Simonson. It was too exhausting!
It was just a bone marrow donation; why should she inconvenience herself?
After arriving at the hotel, Purple Summers put away her belongings and lay down on the bed.
She took out her phone and made a video call invitation to Alexander Summers.
After a long wait, the other side accepted the invitation. Alexander appeared shirtless, his black, dense, short hair a mess, with a few damp strands resting on his eyebrows, his handsomeness tinged with a roguish charm.
“What are you doing?” Purple Summers couldn’t help but smile at the sight of him, feeling happy.
“Hang on a second.” Alexander said, placing the phone further away so that the camera could capture his whole upper body and the background behind him.
Purple Summers saw the scene clearly and realized, “You’re bathing Cleo.”
“Just finished.” Alexander coiled Cleo around himself, a python weighing over a hundred pounds, which he lifted up and down like an oversized, elongated dumbbell.
He asked Purple Summers, “Am I not impressive?”
“You’re so childish.” Purple Summers laughed and complained, “You’re so annoying. Put Cleo down, she might get dizzy.”
Alexander put Cleo down, letting the lethargic snake crawl away. After wiping his hands, he picked up the phone again.
“Are you scared of having your bone marrow drawn?” Alexander asked her.
“…Actually, I am a little scared.” Purple Summers chuckled, “But I must go, the patient has already started high-dose chemotherapy in preparation for the transplant. Backing out now would be inconsiderate.”
What do you think?
