Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime

Chapter 869 - 869 Double Blow_1

Chapter 869: Chapter 869 Double Blow_1

Atra Blanc’s disappearance was the second heavy blow to Purple Summers.

In this world, there were few people she cared about, yet she kept losing them, and she didn’t even know why. Besides her bewildered conjectures, all that remained was anxious waiting.

She was utterly powerless about everything that had happened!

Purple’s nerves were stretched to their limit. She couldn’t go to school and spent her days at home, staring blankly at Atra’s empty closet.

Aria Jackson wouldn’t allow her to sink into depression and dragged her out for drinks.

“You need to understand, she left of her own free will,” Aria advised. “She’s an adult capable of making her own decisions, where she wants to go, who she wants to follow, it’s her freedom, Purple, you don’t have to blame yourself for this!”

Purple stared at the fine bubbles in the chilled beer, silent.

Aria continued, “She packed her bags and walked out on her own, nobody forced her, right? She lied to you and checked into a hotel by herself, nobody forced her, right? She left the hotel with Clyde Summers, and again, nobody forced her, right?”

Purple said in a low voice, “Aria, believe me, there’s no way she would have voluntarily gone with Clyde. I don’t know how to explain it now, but Clyde… this person, he must have used some method to coerce Atra!”

Aria sighed helplessly.

“The last thing traffic monitoring captured of them was at the highway entrance – at least there’s no sign in the photos that she was being coerced…”

“She’s timid,” Purple said, frowning, “She’s the kind of person who can be easily intimidated by a few words. It doesn’t take a knife at her throat to consider it coercion!”

Purple looked up at Aria, “Can we find out where they went by checking the license plate number?”

Aria shook her head, “Already checked. The plate number was fake, the car was just an ordinary Volkswagen. Once they left the highway and switched plates, nobody knows where they went.”

Purple felt her heart sinking endlessly, utterly oppressed.

If Clyde took Atra beyond the Wheatley jurisdiction, even Gavin Graves would probably have a hard time tracing them…

“I know you might not want to hear this, but…” Aria took a drink and said, “One person packed her bags in advance and ran to a hotel, the other prepared fake plates and a car in advance. After meeting, they left together. In such a missing persons case, any officer in charge would believe it was a planned elopement. Purple, eloping isn’t against the law, and the police can’t do anything about it.”

Purple opened her mouth to argue, but Aria spoke again, “I know you’re anxious, but anxiety is useless, at least for now it doesn’t seem like Clyde intends to harm her. However, with both of them missing, you really should think about how to cover this up, because if even a hint of this gets out…”

If even a hint of this got out, even if Atra were found later, odds are she’d have no face to return!

Purple took a deep breath and said in a low voice, “I’ll move out of the Summers Residence. The people of the Summers Family will just think that Atra moved away with me; they won’t suspect anything.”

With both Clyde and Atra missing, if they don’t come back for a long time, it will inevitably lead to gossip among the servants. Purple didn’t want to hear any of that speculation.

Purple decided to move out as quickly as possible.

Cedric Spencer found her a house, coincidentally a place she had visited before—the residence of Judge Douglas.

Norman Douglas publicly claimed to be taking his son on a world trip. In reality, they were seeking psychotherapy abroad. The psychiatrist recommended more companionship and listening, and suggested them to change the environment. Therefore, even if they returned to their country in the future, they wouldn’t continue living in the same house.

The garden villa of Norman Douglas was spacious and beautiful. Although it lacked a man-made lake and was not as large as the Summers Residence, it was still undoubtedly an enviable mansion.

The very next day, Purple moved into the villa along with her pet snake.

However, she couldn’t take Tiny with her. It was still incubating its eggs, not leaving the nest every day. Even after the eggs hatched, Tiny would have to take care of its newborns. Purple could only give up the idea.
