Chapter 870: Chapter 870 Leaving Summers Residence_1
On the day of the move, Purple Summers stood outside the small western-style house, instructing the gardener to relocate the two clumps of roses from outside the door.
“They need to be exactly the same,” Purple ordered, “the positioning must not change at all.”
Other belongings were being moved by them, but she repeatedly emphasized these two clumps of flowers.
These were the roses Alexander Summers had once had planted beneath her window, shaped like two hearts, which she wanted to take to her new home.
Anything she valued, she intended to take with her, if she could.
When Tiny’s children left the nest, she also wanted to take Tiny with her, if Tiny was willing…
Manager Charles had hired enough staff; all the luggage was quickly loaded up, and he came over to ask Purple to get in the car.
Purple crouched down, gently stroked the python’s head by her feet, and then stood up to walk towards the wrought-iron gate. Cleo slowly slithered after her.
Not far away, Nathaniel Summers stood at the entrance hall, silently watching her.
Her figure was delicate and graceful, her lush black hair shone with a cool luster under the sun, her skirt fluttered slightly with her steps, her every move exquisite, dignified yet luxurious.
She seemed like a proper and charming lady, yet the presence of a large spotted python by her side was like a tag, constantly reminding Nathaniel that she was vile, ugly, and nauseating!
Nathaniel remembered again that the snake had once belonged to Alexander, and his heart filled with even more loathing!
This woman was just as disgusting as Alexander!
…
Purple sat down in the car, and Cleo also slowly crawled in. Its body was too long, so it could only coil up into several loops, curled up in the back seat of the car.
It wasn’t too comfortable, hence Cleo seemed somewhat irritable, its tongue flicking out constantly, probing its new environment.
Purple placed its head on her knee, gently caressing it to soothe its emotions.
The car door closed, several vehicles gradually left the Summers Residence, disappearing from sight.
Nathaniel went back into the house, picked up the colorful glass ashtray from the table, and smashed it violently.
The glass shattered into pieces, along with the remaining ash inside, scattered across the floor, a mix of crystal and ash.
Nathaniel didn’t know what he was angry about.
Angry that she left?
Or… angry that he couldn’t have her?
…
On her first day in the new house, Gavin Graves came to see Purple.
She sat alone in the luxurious living room, on a lake-blue velvety sofa that was soft, her body half-sunk into it, with her slender and pale legs revealed beneath the hem of her snow-silk dress.
Cleo stretched out its body, occupying the entire backrest of the sofa, its sleek and rounded chin resting on Purple’s legs, motionless.
Gavin glanced around.
Perhaps because she had just moved in, there were still some boxes waiting to be sorted in the living room, and the new servants seemed somewhat flustered. Fortunately, her steward was a capable person, delegating tasks methodically, creating order within the chaos.
“Purple, you can come live at my place,” Gavin said.
“There’s no need; I’m quite comfortable here,” Purple’s voice revealed weariness. Her soft body leaned against the python, a touch of decadence showing, and also a strange, exotic allure.
“Young Master Graves, have you heard anything about my mother?” she asked.
Gavin, however, was silent.
After a moment, he spoke, “My people found out that Clyde Summers stopped by in Ember City.”
“Stopped by?” Purple questioned skeptically.
“In Ember City, he withdrew 4.5 million from his fund account,” Gavin paused before adding, “in cash.”
Purple’s heart plummeted.
Finding someone required traces.
Traces would be left when buying train tickets or plane tickets, and when making credit card purchases. But if Clyde avoided public transport, chose to use cash, and deliberately took remote routes… with the vastness of the world, no one could find him.
What do you think?
