From Beast Abilities to Sect Grand Master

Chapter 292: Iron and Fire Peak

Han Xin cried out in pain and broke Han Hou Ren's speech.

"So sorry, I apologize. I was just trying to loosen it for you," Lin Fan said.

"You think I'm stupid!" Han Xin protested loudly.

Han Xin's screams reminded Han Hou Ren of the situation.

Han Hou Ren tapped his wooden staff onto the ground.

He didn't have the upper hand.

Lin Fan then turned towards the crowd and said, "Don't you think after all the suffering my father went through, a visit to the ancestor should be granted?"

"Hmm… I think so, yes, it should be granted."

"I'm beginning to feel suspicious of what happened years ago."

"Yeah, just grant the visit and you would have nothing to do with Han Dang anymore."

"Unless you have something to hide, if not I don't see why not."

The crowd was unanimous with what Lin Fan had said.

Han Hou Ren's mouth twitched, but he couldn't let his true feelings be known.

He smiled and waved at the crowd.

"There must have been a misunderstanding, and I will get to the bottom of it.

"I'm so sorry for our family drama to be aired out in the open."

After he was done talking to the crowd, he turned to Han Dang and said, "Come with me and let go of Han Xin. He is your younger brother after all."

Han Dang glanced over at Lin Fan.

Splatter.

Lin Fan shrugged his shoulders, and he pulled out the sword in one swift motion.

"What the hell!" It caused huge pain for Han Xin, and he rolled on the ground.

House guards quickly went over and helped Han Xin up.

Han Dang and Lin Fan followed Han Hou Ren as he led them into the mansion.

Strangely, Han Hou Ren didn't speak a word and all they could hear was the tapping sound of his wooden staff as he walked deeper into the mansion.

Han Dang looked at the surroundings of the mansion.

Trying hard to see if he could have any memories of the place.

But he couldn't muster anything out of it.

Finally, they reached a huge ancient hall.

Han Hou Ren stood outside of the hall and waited.

Inside the hall, there were rows of tablets with the names of the Han Family's ancestors carved onto them.

A voice boomed in the air from behind the tablets.

It caused the dirt that was on the tablets and tables to rattle and float in the air.

"Han Dang? Why are you here after so many years?" Han Qiang asked.

"Ancestor Han Qiang, we are here to ask about the whereabouts of Master Su Qi Nian," Han Dang said as he knelt and kowtowed.

"Hmm… Su Qi Nian… A name I haven't heard in ages. His last hideout I know was at the peak of the Iron and Fire Peak," Han Qiang said.

Lin Fan took note of the peak name.

"Thank you, ancestor. We will try our luck there," Han Dang said.

"Luck? You'll need lots of it. He is a peculiar one; if he feels that you are worthy, he will help you for free. But no amount of money can move him if he deems otherwise."

Lin Fan frowned and thought about what it might mean to be worthy.

Being rich?

Being powerful?

He couldn't decide which was the correct answer.

They would have to find out when they meet Su Qi Nian.

After they bid farewell to the ancestor, Han Qiang, they left the ancient hall.

Han Hou Ren was still waiting outside, but he still didn't say a word as he led them out.

When they got to the entrance, he finally broke the silence and said, "Han Dang, where are you staying in the town? I can make better arrangements for you."

Lin Fan nudged at Han Dang.

Most likely arrangements to our deaths, he thought.

"We will be leaving soon, no need for the hassle. Goodbye."

Han Dang and Lin Fan continued and stepped out of the mansion.

When they disappeared out of sight, Han Xin came out of the shadows and said, "Father, did you see how they insulted me and the Han Family? We must make them pay for it with their lives."

"After what you did, you still dare come and tell me what to do?" Han Hou Ren gave Han Xin a side eye.

He'd doted on Han Xin and closed one eye on what he had done to Han Dang when they were young.

After all, you need to be ruthless to lead the family to survive and prosper.

He'd picked the right winner when he chose Han Xin.

Han Xin lowered his head and sighed.

"Do what you must, just don't let things spill over to the Han Family."

Han Hou Ren said and walked away.

Han Xin gave out an evil grin as he thought about how he would deal with Lin Fan and Han Dang.

On the way back to the inn, Han Dang was silent, and Lin Fan just walked by his side.

It was halfway back to the inn that Han Dang started to talk.

He reminisced about his days in the town when he was young.

Then he told Lin Fan about how he managed to join the Qing Feng Sect after he was banished from the family.

And now, with his family feud done with, he had finally slain his heart demon of so many years.

"Thank you, Lin Fan. Next time if you need help, just let me know," Han Dang said.

He cursed silently at Zhang Yi Nian's luck at having Lin Fan as his core disciple.

Lin Fan just nodded and was glad.

All these efforts to gain another ally in Qing Feng Sect.

When Lin Fan and Han Dang got back to the inn, Ho Ming and Hun Yen Kun were waiting for them.

"How was it?" Hun Yen Kun asked when Lin Fan and Han Dang entered the room.

Ho Ming was also curious to know; he leaned forward, eager to find out.

Lin Fan poured himself a cup of tea and gulped it down in a mouthful.

After he was done, he put down the teacup and said, "Su Qi Nian might be on the Iron and Fire Peak. We can get going tomorrow."
