Chapter 629 Sea to Bea
Osalf, seated across from him, nodded in agreement, his brow furrowed. "They're about to start the second stage of the tournament. They're moving all the contestants into a single location, gathering them to announce the rules and relocate them to the grounds. It's the perfect chance to strike—cause chaos, disrupt their plans, show the kingdom's supporters just how fragile their grip is."
"And," another voice chimed in—Rui, who stood near the edge of the room, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, "if we ruin this historic event, we'll do wonders for our cause. People need to see that the kingdom isn't untouchable." He grinned, a spark of something almost wild lighting up his eyes.@@novelbin@@
Xuán Wĕi turned his gaze towards the corner of the room where Gears was hunched over a table filled with devices, his fingers deftly adjusting some intricate machinery. Rui approached Gears, his grin widening. "Let's get that portal tech working, shall we? It's time we gave it a try."
Gears looked up, his eyes narrowing behind his goggles. "You sure about this? We haven't had much time to test it."
----meanwhile with blue ----
Blue soared through the sky, her tiny blue wings flapping furiously against the crisp air, her excitement buzzing in sync with her fluttering wings. "Hehe, time to see what all the fuss is about! Let's put this mission in full blast!" she exclaimed to herself, the thrill of adventure dancing in her eyes. She darted between clouds, her gaze set on the enormous structure below—the castle. The blend of ancient stones and gleaming metal panels fascinated her, a perfect mix of old and new, a contradiction she couldn't help but appreciate.
"Ooooh, look at that," she squealed, doing a little mid-air twirl. The gleaming metal turrets caught the sun, making them shine like a beacon. Advanced tech intertwined with heavy bricks, the design both formidable and intricate. It was like nothing she had seen before—part fairytale castle, part something out of a sci-fi dream. She let her gaze glide along the wall, noticing guards posted outside, their weapons looking equally hybrid, with the sleekness of advanced tech and an edge that screamed medieval warfare. "That is soooo cool," she whispered to herself, eyes sparkling. "I'd live here... if I wasn't, you know, spying on it."
Blue looped around the structure, her wings working overtime as she searched for a good entry point. Jedo's instructions echoed in her head. "From the top, down through the halls... should lead to the king's chamber." She giggled at the thought. "It's like a treasure hunt… and the prize is a big ol' king!" She zeroed in on an open window near the highest tower. After a swift, almost reckless dive, she slipped inside, her tiny figure barely making a sound as she landed and snuck her way through the dim corridors.
Making her way down, her wings occasionally buzzed to keep her balance as she peered around corners and listened for footsteps. She approached an opening to a grand room, her eyes widening as she saw him—the King, seated at a long polished table, surrounded by people deep in conversation. Blue tiptoed closer, perching herself on a beam above, her small frame hidden behind an ornate tapestry hanging just far enough for her to see.
"...the Black Bulls," the King said, his voice resonant and calm, yet carrying a weight that demanded attention. Blue tilted her head, her ears perked. The King continued, "Their current plots against the tournament... it's beyond their usual tactics. Attacking local governmental outposts was one thing, but the bombing of the city streets?" He shook his head, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips. "They will be crushed in due time—used as the pawns they are to further the kingdom's interests."
Blue's eyes widened, her tiny hands covering her mouth to suppress a gasp. "Pawns?!" she whispered under her breath, barely audible. She watched as the King stood, his gaze sweeping across the council. "For now, return to your stations and await the broadcast. We will convene afterward. I must speak with... THE ONE." His voice dropped lower on those last words, a reverence that made the hair on Blue's neck stand on end. Her curiosity piqued, and she felt her wings twitch with anticipation. "Who's THE ONE?!" she mouthed silently, her eyes never leaving the King as he turned to leave the room.
Watching as everyone left, Blue saw that he still remained seated at his spot, leaning back in his chair, giving a slight hum.
Suddenly, the room began to spin. Black fog rolled across the room, enveloping everything. Blue could barely make out the wall she was clinging to before everything blurred, the world swallowed by the black mist. The next moment, she felt something—a pair of hands—wrapping around her. She was pulled into the darkness, losing all vision of what was happening around her.
Blue struggled, desperately trying to free herself as the black fog coiled around her, binding her wings. She felt herself falling, her senses overwhelmed by the choking darkness, until she landed with a hard thud on a patch of the black mist, coughing and gasping for breath. She tried to flap her wings, to rise, but they refused to respond, weighed down and useless.
"Wh-what's going on?" she stammered, her small voice barely a whisper in the vastness of the void.
She looked up, her eyes widening as they settled on a massive figure standing over her, looming like a nightmare. It had blood-red eyes, staring down at her with an intense, almost burning gaze. The creature stood at least two dozen feet tall, dwarfing her tiny fairy form. As the fog dissipated around it, Blue could see her own reflection within its monstrous features—a twisted version of herself, etched with anger, disgustingly transformed. There were glowing eyes on either side, adding to its dreadful countenance.

"You dare keep me locked away for so long, and now you drag me here!" the creature's voice boomed, resonating through the endless blackness. "What is this place you have brought me to now?"
Blue trembled, her tiny hands clutching the misty ground beneath her. "I... I... I don't know who you are," she muttered, her voice quivering. "Or what you're talking about."
The creature's demeanor shifted, its eyes narrowing in shock. It seemed taken aback by her words. Its massive hands reached out, as if to grab her once more, but before it could, a scepter came crashing down with force. It struck the creature, pinning it to the ground, the impact reverberating in the darkness.
Blue gasped, her tears spilling freely as she watched the creature, struggling beneath the weight of the scepter, its red eyes still locked on her.
Well, what do we have here, a voice broke through as a pair of massive hands dove into the black cloud grabbing Blue and the creature seemingly vanished into a puff of energy as Blue's vision went away again before she felt herself being ripped through time before finally landing on a white like platform, confused as BLue touched down it felt like a mix of stones and clouds meshing together as a voice broke out again.
When she looked out, her eyes widened as she saw a towering figure, every muscle on his enormous body rippling as he stood over a hundred feet tall. Blue clutched her chest, barely managing to whisper, "Uh, hello?" Her voice was a trembling squeak, almost lost in the vastness of the darkness surrounding them.
Without even realizing it, her tiny wings had subconsciously lifted her up. She hovered there, blinking, until the massive hand of the figure lowered gently towards her. Blue could feel the air shift around her, the sheer size of the hand creating a soft gust that tousled her blue hair. His fingers were careful as they curled, as if cradling a fragile bird, and he lifted her upwards until she was level with his face.
She blinked at the tanned figure before her—the features much clearer now. His skin glowed a golden hue, accentuating his long blonde hair that cascaded like waves down his back. A rose headband circled his head, interwoven with a white cloth, while a flowing blue tunic draped down his gigantic frame. He studied her with curiosity, a smile playing faintly at the corner of his lips.
"Hello, little fairy creature," the figure finally spoke, his voice deep, resonant, but not unkind. It rolled over Blue like distant thunder, each word seemingly soaked in power. "You are far from your actual human. What brings you to my planet, and more importantly, why did you invade my meeting room with this world's king?"
Blue swallowed hard, her wings faltering a little before regaining their rhythm. "Th-this world's king?" she stammered, glancing back down where the room had been swallowed by the black fog. Her tiny frame shook with tension. "It's a really, really long story, but..." She paused, unsure where to even begin. "I was instructed to watch him because… well, a lot of people are scared of him." She took a shaky breath. "He pits people against each other—to the death—just to decide who gets some kind of wish or something like that." She sniffled, her small voice breaking. "But it goes further back… Ty and I, we aren't even from this world. We got pulled here by accident and… I'm just trying to help him."
What do you think?
