From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals

Chapter 630 Title Burn

The towering figure nodded, his gaze steady, absorbing her words. The air between them seemed to grow heavier, the fog shifting almost in response to his thoughts. He glanced at the void swirling beneath them, then returned his focus to Blue, eyes narrowing slightly. "And what of the creature that tried to attack you in my Void Bringer?"

"Void Bringer?" Blue echoed, her face scrunched in confusion, her tiny brows furrowed. She glanced around at the inky surroundings, as if trying to make sense of where she was.

The giant gave a knowing smile, his eyes reflecting an ancient wisdom. "Yes," he replied patiently. "The Void Bringer is how I communicate with all of my worlds. It's like a… phone call, I believe some planets call it." He tilted his head slightly, considering. "It's my way of checking in on things. Though, from what you're telling me, things seem rather complicated on this world."

"Complicated?" Blue squeaked, her wings giving an agitated flutter. "Yes, it's more than complicated! He's making people fight to the death for a wish!" She clenched her tiny fists, her voice high-pitched and indignant.

The figure's laughter rumbled, a deep, almost musical sound, echoing through the void. "Well," he said, his lips curving into a grin, "that makes sense in its own way. He's crafting warriors… warriors that could be of use once they finish with their mortal coils." His eyes drifted, a distant look overtaking his features.

Blue's jaw dropped, her wings buzzing in agitation. "That's insane!" she blurted out, her eyes wide, indignation making her forget her fear for just a moment. "People aren't just tools to be used!"

The giant studied her, his head tilting slightly to one side, golden hair shimmering in the dim light of the void. He seemed amused, intrigued even, as if he hadn't heard a perspective like hers in a very long time. He brought her closer, his massive eyes peering at her intently, his expression unreadable.

Blue's tiny wings fluttered in the wake of his words, the lingering weight of fear gripping her chest. She couldn't help but swallow as she looked up at the massive being before her.

"And why is that?" the being asked, his tone carrying both curiosity and indifference, his eyes narrowing slightly, shimmering with an intensity that made Blue's skin crawl.

"We-well, everyone has their own minds, their own hopes and dreams," Blue stammered, her voice barely a whisper. Memories flashed through her, the warmth of Ty's smile, Nanako's gentle encouragement, JJ's resolve. Faces of everyone she'd met since waking up in this strange world. They were people who deserved more than endless strife and pain. Her small voice found courage as she added, "They deserve to live a life free from pain."

The being tilted his head, his golden hair catching the dim light, and an amused smile crept across his face. "That is a noble thought, my tiny fairy," he said, his voice dropping to a near purr, "but they were not born into a reality of such luxury. Weak times create weak people, and weak people threaten everything I've built." His tone hardened. "Strong men forge stronger times, and only through strength can a world be preserved. Without it, everything collapses, falling over and over again."

Blue bit her lip, uncertain if she could argue with that logic. But her heart spoke louder. The people she had met had strength, perhaps not the kind that ruled empires, but strength nonetheless—resilience, hope. She wanted to speak up again, but his words cut through her thoughts.

He leaned closer, his piercing eyes locking with hers. "For you to be on one of my planets means someone is meddling with my worlds. Someone who shouldn't be," he said, his voice laced with curiosity, then smiled. "However, I think I shall let things play out. After all, a little chaos brings more entertainment."

Blue hesitated, then began, "Well, I could tell you who it is... it's Ereb—"

Her words were abruptly silenced as his massive fingers coiled around her, their crushing weight cutting off her breath. The pressure of his grip forced a pained squeak from her throat.

"Speak that name again," he whispered, his eyes glinting dangerously, "and I will erase you. Don't you dare ruin my fun." He loosened his grip, watching her cough, a chuckle escaping his lips. "This changes little, but it does add a touch of amusement."

Finally released, Blue stumbled back, massaging her sides as she coughed, struggling to regain composure. "Wha-what am I supposed to do now?" she asked, her voice strained.

He seemed amused by her confusion, a light smirk dancing across his lips. "I will send you back. You will mention nothing of me... or do. It makes little difference to me." He paused, considering her for a moment, a wicked smile forming. "After all, who would believe a strange creature like you? Though, perhaps they see you differently—maybe with divinity, given your... elegant looks."

Blue's cheeks turned a soft shade of blue, the flush spreading down her neck. "My elegant looks?" she repeated, incredulous. "Was... that a compliment?"

He laughed—a deep rumble that shook the void surrounding them. "Indeed. You are the perfect shade of blue." He leaned back, gaze softening, as if dismissing the thought. "Enough of this. I need to return to my duties—monitoring my worlds, keeping everything in balance. But know this: this planet now has my attention."

Blue, still flustered, mustered her courage once more. "I... I have a question about the wish."

He looked at her with curiosity, arching a brow. "The wish? Go on," he said, gesturing for her to continue.

"How... how does it even exist? Can someone really wish for anything they want?"

He laughed, shaking his head. "Ah, the wish," he mused. His finger twitched, and a glowing orb appeared above his palm, floating, radiating a soft, pulsating light. "Anything you can imagine in this universe," he said, the orb shimmering as he spoke. "Once I have granted permission, this orb can fulfill any one person's desire—but only once, during the given cycle."

Blue's eyes widened as she stared at the orb, the light reflecting off her wide pupils. "And whoever wins the tournament... they get that wish, right?"

The being's smile grew wider, his features almost predatory as he shrank down in an instant. His enormous figure reduced to a mere flicker—a figure her own size, standing eye to eye with her, a hand gently reaching out to lift her chin. "Ah, my pretty little fairy," he whispered, his lips so close she could feel his words. "I can't reveal all the secrets, now can I? Perhaps... if we meet again, I might be persuaded to tell you more."

Blue blinked, stunned by the sudden change. Her mind reeled. "Y-you can change sizes?!"

He grinned, mischief lighting his eyes. "Of course, dear fairy. How else would I pass on my lineage when I grow bored of existence?" He chuckled, clearly enjoying her shock. Before Blue could react, he snapped his fingers, and the darkness enveloped her once more.

In the blink of an eye, she found herself back against the castle wall, a heavy cloak wrapped around her shoulders. The cold air rushed around her, the memory of the dark void still fresh in her mind, her heart pounding, her eyes wide.

"Wh-what... what is this?" Blue whispered, her voice lost in the wind as she clung desperately to the ceiling, trying to steady her trembling hands. The room below shifted and swayed in her vision as she tried to comprehend everything she had just seen.

A towering woman stood on the opposite side of the room, her silhouette sharp and unyielding. She wore armor that shimmered in a deep, metallic hue, almost like obsidian, and her presence seemed to command the space entirely. The woman shifted slightly, her gaze narrowing at Blue's direction. The annoyed flicker in her eye sent a shiver through Blue's tiny body, but the woman simply turned back to face the King, dismissing the strange anomaly clinging to the ceiling.

"We have been through almost ten cycles," the woman said, her voice like steel against stone, "And yet your world has failed to yield anyone of true value. Stop this charade of corrupt rulers, pointless schemes, and fractured realms. Create a unified world. A world where the strongest warriors can be born."@@novelbin@@

She took a step forward, her voice rising, echoing against the walls, each word carrying weight. "He has done more than enough," she added, her gloved hand gesturing toward something unseen, "to help your family lineage create this kingdom. But you have failed to yield the results needed."

The King stood at the base of the large circular table, his head bowed low. The throne behind him, golden and adorned with deep red rubies, now seemed diminished in the presence of this formidable figure. He swallowed, beads of sweat forming along his brow as he muttered, "My Titanis Goddess, I assure you, this tournament… whoever emerges victorious will be the strongest this world has seen."
