Chapter 665: Out-of-sync Time

After arranging the next meeting time with Pei Yanshi and the other two, Bai Zhongqi saw that it was getting late and took his leave.

Subconsciously, Bai Zhongqi returned to the State Governor's Mansion. With his capabilities, if he didn't want to be seen, naturally no one could see him. He sneaked into Zhang Yingxi's room, turned on the computer, and started manipulating the "game."

"Indeed, time isn't synchronized anymore. Twelve hours have passed for me, while only a little over half an hour has passed for them, so the information I sent is replied to very slowly from my perspective."

This discrepancy in time synchronization prevented the two sides from conducting real-time video communication; at most, they could record videos for each other to watch. However, this gave Bai Zhongqi slight relief as he didn't want his beloved ones like Han Jiaxue and Zero to wait for him for many years. His time flowed faster, and since he was immortal, how he wasted this time didn't matter.

To Bai Zhongqi's surprise, he also received a message from a member of the Elder Race, none other than the elderly man who had helped him revive on Earth.

"Hey, Bai Zhongqi, it's the elderly man here. You must be peeing your pants right now, being tricked by the Pilgrims, but it's good that you still have a life left. I have some bad news to tell you, those damned Pilgrims have killed three of our brethren, and the Elder Race 'Hundred Schemes' have already investigated the situation and wiped out their base in one universe. These bastards have been quiet for years but are still causing trouble.

The Pilgrims are a native race not younger than our Elder Race, a despicable race full of lies. They are jealous that we possess the talents of understanding the law of causality and immortality, and they have waged wars against us before. However, the process was simple—the Celestial Collector and a few other Elder Races nearly annihilated them. The Pilgrims now hide in some corner of the Void, those weaklings who cling to life, barely surviving by creating disorderly false worlds in time, seldom stepping out.

Recently, they've been possessed by some devil, causing trouble again and resulting in our casualties. Two specific members of our Elder Race are handling this issue. You should have been confined in a 'fish tank'; we can't locate the tank, so you're on your own now. It's like two fish, the one that eats the other is the winner and can leave the tank. You're quite resourceful, I believe in you. Don't worry about your powers in the Second Universe, the Pilgrims don't have the guts to meddle with it; the Senior Activity Room will keep an eye on it for you. That's it."

After hearing his words, Bai Zhongqi breathed a sigh of relief.

"If that's the case, then it's fine for the Iridium Star United Empire to proceed with the technology upgrades as planned. Along the way, it's possible for Zang Xingyan, Xu Lanzhou and others to take over the Snow Dragon Galaxy in the Third Universe."

However, his current situation was a bit embarrassing. Due to the asynchronous time, his time flowed faster, making playing the game feel like playing on an extremely laggy computer. After operating for a while, he saw hardly any response from the other side, which was frustrating.

Consequently, Bai Zhongqi closed the game, bored. Although the Supreme Command couldn't bring anything out, at least after he inserted the Supreme Command, he was able to utilize some of its features, such as programming and data processing.

Unfortunately, the application of network technology in the current era of the Azure Planet wasn't widespread. In fact, the internet technology of Earth's old era was a tech tree that many Primitive and even Mid-level Civilizations had not developed. The Iridium Star United Empire didn't have the kind of interactive social networks that were common on Earth—not because the technology couldn't achieve it, but due to policy issues.

Having experienced countless hours of deep-learning, Bai Zhongqi, with the super tool of the Supreme Command, made programming merely a simple task. He quickly set up the architecture of the website he had mentioned to Pei Yanshi earlier in the day, and he also coded an instant messaging software similar to Penguin but with a more Iridium Star-style interface, simplistic and industrial in design.

Not long after the Chancellor temporarily switched to being a coder, the door to the room opened again. Zhang Yingxi walked in and upon seeing Bai Zhongqi, couldn't help but show a look of surprise.

She carefully checked outside to ensure no one was around, then closed the door and flashed a sweet smile at Bai Zhongqi, saying, "You came!"

Bai Zhongqi felt a bit guilty; he didn't know why he had run off to someone else's boudoir again. After all, having a pretty and talkative girl around, why not enjoy it?

"Have you had dinner yet? If not, I can get you something. Today, our house made some really tasty winter melon pork bone soup."

Bai Zhongqi waved his palm, stopping her from veering off topic. "I'm not hungry, I had tofu pudding."

"Tofu pudding? What's that?" she asked, tilting her head, a look of confusion on her face.

Bai Zhongqi felt a pang of sympathy for the girl. She was a true caged bird, never having truly seen the outside world or tasted the everyday snacks of the common folks.

Bai Zhongqi replied casually, "It's made from tofu, tastes pretty good. I'll take you to try it sometime."

Zhang Yingxi was overjoyed, "Really? You would take me?"

"What's difficult about that?" Bai Zhongqi didn't care much. Abducting a young girl or something, for him, a great demon who had slaughtered billions in the universe, it hardly seemed like a crime.

Zhang Yingxi felt that today was the happiest day of her life. She no longer kept up her ladylike demeanor or maintained distance from others. Instead, she was like a normal girl, making friends and chatting with people.

Bai Zhongqi said, "Alright, you should go to sleep now, I'm done here, so I'm leaving."

The color drained from Zhang Yingxi's face as she asked, "Can you not go?"

Bai Zhongqi laughed and said, "You are still a virgin, want me to stay the night? Are you really not afraid?"

Zhang Yingxi, whether sly or genuinely, replied, "What's meant to happen, will happen."

Seeing her pitiful look, Bai Zhongqi couldn't resist turning on the computer, saying, "Let's watch a drama."

Zhang Yingxi was surprised, "Watch a drama? For a play, shouldn't we go to the theater, and for a TV show, don't we need a TV? Can you watch a drama on a computer?"

Although Bai Zhongqi couldn't use things from the first to the third universe, information and knowledge were all data, including videos.

He randomly picked a drama from Earth and set the computer on the bed before sitting down. Zhang Yingxi was a bit shy, but she still joined him on the bed.

But soon Bai Zhongqi began to regret showing the girl the drama.

Zhang Yingxi, with dark circles under her eyes, clutched Bai Zhongqi's sleeve and gently tugged, pleading, "Let's watch one more episode..."
