Game Creator System [LitRPG]

37 – Plans

- Theo POV -

The comments on FrostHaven Entertainment's post were buzzing.

[Brooo, will I finally be able to duel with my friends?!]

[Damng, this is going to be so much fun!]

[Will the game have a permanent Battle Pass?!I'm finally not going to miss out on rewards because I don't have time to play on the day of the event!]

[Great Demon Mage... is that a demon version of Lyna?!]

[Holy shit, I haven't even seen the demon version of Lyna and I can already tell she's my waifu!]

[Dude wtf]

[So jealous of the California Players... here in Alaska no interesting games have been released recently...]

[Not even here in Colorado... I hope the Federation approves FrostHaven quickly so we can play that game too].

[I've just come out of a dungeon and I can't wait to get home and play some more, I'll accumulate so much Gold that I'll get all the new cards on the first day, mark my words!]

[I don't even have a legendary card yet... TˆT]

Reading the comments, a smile appeared on my face.

This reaction from the Players was exactly what I was hoping for.

I knew that although other games updated regularly, the Game Creators didn't focus as much on the game and on improving the Players' enjoyment as I was doing, so their surprise at so many new things in the game was a lot of fun.

Ding

Suddenly a notification popped up on my cell phone.

[Congratulations Game Creator Theo Brooks, your entry to the California Game Federation has been approved and your game 'Runestone' will be available on our website within 4 hours].

That was great news!

Runestone's growth over the last few days, although still satisfactory, was dropping considerably.

During the game's boom there were days when the average number of players online rose by more than a thousand, but today that number is much lower.

Curious, using my new computer I accessed Runestone's backend and started analyzing the game's data.

|-----------------------------------------

| Game Status: Runestone

|-----------------------------------------

| Total Players: 4,966 -> 8,044

| Online Players: 4.389 -> 5.266

| Average Players Online (24 hours): 4.572 -> 5.486

| Game Rank: Rank F

| Mana per Hour (Players): 1 unit

| Average Session Time: 5 hours

| Mana Stored in Game Core: 490 units

| Mana Yield (24 hours): 329 units

| Conversion Rate: 80% (New players who become regulars)

|------------------------

| Available Cards: 119 (Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary)

| Cards Used per Match (Average): 17@@novelbin@@

|-----------------------------------------

Just as I imagined, even though I didn't check the game data yesterday and let it accumulate for 2 days, the average number of Players online only increased by 914, an average of 457 more Players on the day.

That's definitely not a bad number and I'm very happy about it, but considering the potential I know this game has and considering that in California alone there are 3.9 Million Supernaturals, with a large part of that number being F Rank Players, I knew the game had a lot of room to develop, but that it was being limited because of the platform this had been posted on.

The vast majority of Players weren't even looking for new games, just focusing on the games they already knew and knew were good for their development.

And the part of the Players who were looking for new games, the vast majority of them only looked on the California Federation's website.

The reason I'm generating so much hype for Season 01 of Runestone is that I want the game to become popular, popular to the point that even those Players who aren't looking for new games will hear about Runestone and try to play it.

Just with an average playerbase of 5.4k Players the game is already racking up 329 MP per day, imagine how that would look when the game had 10x as many Players?

It would only be a matter of months before my game evolved from F Rank to E Rank!

Not to mention the money it would bring in.

With the average 5.4k Players a day I've already received over $700 in the last 24 hours, if the average Players went up by 10x I'd be receiving so much money that paying developers to make a version of my game for ordinary people wouldn't be impossible either!

| Stored Cash: $31 +$789 -> $820

Even though I spent almost $200 buying groceries and food for home yesterday, because of the game's high turnover I already had enough money not to worry about it for a while again.

Seeing that figure rise daily was very satisfying.

Looking around my new home, I was in a bit of a quandary.

'Should I just cope with this lifestyle, living like this for a few more weeks using only the basics in order to raise the money for a new Game Core as quickly as possible, or first improve my comfort with this money and only once I'm comfortable do I buy the Game Core?'

I was very uncertain about this.

On the one hand, the new Game Core would speed up my development as a Game Creator, helping me climb to the E Rank faster.

An F Rank Game Creator had from 20 MP to 500 MP, after the 500 MP threshold was crossed, the Mana Core inside our body would evolve, making us reach the E Rank.

Going up to E Rank meant a great qualitative improvement in our Mana.

A Game Creator F Rank would use 100 MP to develop something, while a Game Creator E Rank would only need 50 MP to develop the same thing.

Adding this to the even greater volume of Mana they have, from this point alone you can see that Game Creators E Rank games are at a much higher level than F Ranks like me.

The problem is that accumulating 500 MP while only receiving 2 MP a day from Runestone, with the 82 MP I already have, would mean waiting another 209 days to rank up, a long time indeed...

During those 209 days, Runestone's Game Creator would surely evolve, unlocking the option for the game to receive E Rank Players, charge them 2 MP more per hour and receive an even greater profit, but which I wouldn't be able to touch until I also became an E Rank Game Creator...

Thinking along these lines, I looked at my completely empty new apartment and sighed, accepting the reality that I would be living.

'For the next few days, until I've accumulated $20k I won't spend it on anything to decorate the new place... even if I have to live in this empty apartment, if I feel that staying here is boring I can just go to the beach in front of the building. It's sad to have to give up the luxury and comfort in front of me, but I have to think in the long term, when Runestone my new game is online the amount of money I'll receive will be enough to decorate the whole apartment with just one day's income! ' I thought as I motivated myself to follow this path.

Even though I was living in a much bigger, more luxurious and well-located place than the college dormitory I was living in, I would have to live here with less luxury and comfort than I did before, which is very ironic.

'At least I have access to the basics to live here. I thought contentedly as I looked at my fridge full of tasty food that I could prepare.

'I wonder what the reaction would be if some Players found out that the Game Creator of Runestone, the most successful and potential new game in California, was living like this. I laughed at the thought.

Not letting it get me down, I started to do my routine.

Using 78 MP to develop the day's 6 cards, then using the remaining 4 MP to develop small details for the next game update.

After this update session, I picked up my books on Magic and Game Crating and started my study session.

Without a decent desk, I had to use the kitchen counter to study, which is also where I put my computer.

When I got tired of studying here, I would take my books and go to bed and study there for a few more hours.

Even though my focus on studying was intense, I still scheduled a few breaks in the day to read player comments, see how the game was reacting and cook myself something to eat.

When I got bored, I'd watch some show on my computer or cell phone, or go down from my apartment to walk on the beach.

As we were now in summer, the sea water was very pleasant, serving very well as a fun distraction so that my head didn't fry from just thinking about Game Creating.

Having so much time alone and my mind free to think made me miss my otherworldly family.

Although we weren't as close as I would have liked, it was still fun to have family events to go to, such as weekend barbecues at my uncle's house, or family lunches at my grandmother's house.

Remembering that there was a barbecue on the balcony of my apartment, I thought I'd buy some meat and have a barbecue tonight to thank Victoria for the pot of food she gave me when I arrived.

Sure, I wouldn't have the guts to invite her over to eat when my place didn't even have comfortable chairs, but I could still separate some of the meat and give it to her in the pink pot she'd lent me.

Having decided that, I quickly went to the market to buy some meat and started roasting it as soon as I got home.

Using some spices I'd learned from my uncle, I was confident it would be delicious.
