39 – Update Day!

It's been 8 days since the first barbecue I had in my new house.

In those 8 days many things have happened.

The first thing that had a big effect on me was that my Mana went up from the original 82 MP to the current 99 MP!

An increase of 17 units of Mana, with 16 MP coming from the game's Mana conversion and 1 MP from False Neurological Feedback because I left the game generating Mana for me the whole time I was awake.

Not only did my Mana develop a lot these days, but my body was getting better and better.

Even though I didn't do any physical training, my body was developing a lot.

I didn't have a muscular body, and that wasn't even my goal, but my muscle density was getting very good, to the point that I found myself admiring myself in the mirror more and more often, proud of what I was seeing.

With my body developing in this way, I was gradually becoming comfortable going to the beach and going shirtless to dive into the sea, or to get a tan.

Although there were Supernaturals in this world and they had much more developed bodies than normal people, Supernaturals were still in the minority, so an aesthetically pleasing body still stood out from the crowd.

Yesterday when I was leaving the sea and going to my things on the sand, I could hear two girls talking nicely about me in a low voice while looking at me discreetly.

Because of my Mana-enhanced body, I could hear a little better than normal people, so I listened and looked at them to make sure I'd heard right, causing them to laugh even more and look away in embarrassment.

It was the first time anything like this had happened to me in my two lives, also making me embarrassed and making me hurry home.

While the 'me' of this world was a complete virgin, the 'me' of the other world had had a few experiences with girls, but I had to win them over much more because of my lip than because of my looks.

I wasn't ugly, since the basic appearance of the two bodies was the same, but I was much fatter in the other world.

Receiving female attention so easily showed me that when you look good, everything really does become easier for you, making me regret not having trained my body in the other world.

But stopping to talk about me, another thing that changed in these eight days was that Runestone finally became available on the California Federation's website yesterday, causing the game that had been gaining fewer and fewer new players per day, to start growing again at a high rate, slightly surpassing the previous growth of that!

|-----------------------------------------

| Game Status: Runestone

|-----------------------------------------

| Total Players: 8,044 -> 12,870

| Online Players: 5.266 -> 9.513@@novelbin@@

| Average Players Online (24 hours): 5.486 -> 8.777

| Game Rank: Rank F

| Mana per Hour (Players): 1 unit

| Average Session Time: 5 hours

| Mana Stored in Game Core: 490 -> 2,185 units

| Mana Yield (24 hours): 329 -> 526 units

| Conversion Rate: 80% (New players who become regulars)

|------------------------

| Available Cards: 119 (Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary)

| Cards Used per Match (Average): 17

|-----------------------------------------

Looking at the growth of the game on a regular basis, this didn't seem so big, but now looking at the comparison of the total growth of the last 8 days I was surprised.

It was an increase of more or less 60% on the previous figure!

Not only was the amount of total Mana the game yielded now large enough for me to be able to accumulate a lot of Mana to evolve my Game Core, but the growth in Players was also very satisfying!

Another big change that happened was in my wallet, where I was able to go from being a broke man to having 4 digits in my wallet again, and I'm very close to breaking the 5-digit barrier!

| Stored Cash: $820 + $8,208 -> $9,028

From the average of $789 I received on the day I had the barbecue to the $1,263 I received today.

Even if the game didn't grow and just maintained the current number of Players, my monthly salary would already have risen to $37,890, and as much as I wanted to keep being excited about it, I was even more excited to know that this amount would only grow more and more.

'With this amount of monthly money, I could already start thinking about hiring programmers to develop a version of Runestone for ordinary people...' I thought as I looked at the projected income that Runestone would have.

Sure, the development of the game would be long-term, since there were no game engines focused on game development like in my other world, which would slow down the development of the game a lot, increasing the amount I would have to spend on salaries before the game would pay off.

So when I went to open the game studio for normal people at FrostHaven Entertainment, I would need a lot of money saved up.

'Maybe the ideal and safest time to do this is when I have two games making me money...'

With that decided, I stopped focusing on this increase in statistics and turned my attention to Game Core.

In Game Core I had access to everything I had developed over the last few days.

The first and most expensive was 121 new cards for the game, which would increase the total number of cards available in the game to 240.

Another new development was the default skins for the two new heroes released in the game.

A beautiful girl with blonde hair, blue eyes and an innocent smile, dressed in a white and gold cloak with a delicate veil on her head.

Faith Sunwhisper, the Veil of Redemption.

The other hero was a man with dark gray skin, pointed ears, white hair, red eyes, pointing a bow at the camera while looking at the Player with a cold expression like a hunter looking at his prey.

Ashen Darkbow, the Dark Arrow.

The aesthetics of these two characters were extremely beautiful, to the point that I even looked at Lyna and Shogar's original designs and had to rework their art to match the more beautiful and refined style of the two new heroes.

But when I looked at the end result and saw how beautiful these 4 new artworks looked together, I had a big proud smile on my face.

Sure, I didn't have the skills to develop such beautiful art, it was all done with the help of the System.

Even though I had to spend MP to compensate for my lack of art skills, the cost wasn't too high, as it was relatively simple to do.

The skin for Lyna was also completed.

The Great Demon Mage, Lyna Evilstone.

Unlike Lyna's standard skin where she was dressed in an elegant and refined mage's cloak, in this skin she was wearing more revealing and sexy clothes, showing more of her skin, but not to the point where it became pornographic.

Demonic features were also present on her body, such as the sclera of her eye turning black, horns appearing on her head, and most obviously of all, a pair of bat wings and a pointed tail on her back were also complementing the look.

To make this skin stand out even more, I even added some effects that kept moving in the image, like a Gif, which would make Players' desire to get it even greater, even for Players who didn't play with Lyna in the game.

Why wouldn't they try to get something so nice and cool in the game they liked to play? Even if they don't play now, what's to stop them from trying to play with her a few times to show off the beautiful skin they got?

Even more so since I made it explicit that everything earned in this Battle Pass would be limited and only those who got the rewards by the end of Season 01 would be able to get it, with no chance of earning it in the future, I'm sure that even Players who only played Warriors would dedicate themselves to getting it, that's how the human mind worked.

The Fear of Missing Out is that powerful.

Another feature of the update that I added that spent more mana than I thought it would was adding the function for Players to invite friends to their tavern and share that tavern permanently.

To make this easier to organize, I made a Clan system in the game, where Players could create clans for free and invite friends to join, thus creating a clan tavern that Players could enter whenever they wanted, or automatically when the game was started.

Online Player interaction features were still too expensive for a Rank F game, so even if Players could meet and chat in the tavern, the way they did in the games, they wouldn't have physical contact or anything like that, only being able to see each other and chat as realistic holograms.

This may seem a bit limiting now, but when Game Core evolves I could improve it.

Another thing I added was music for the tavern.

All the songs I added were based on the medieval theme that the tavern used, but there was scope for new songs to be added in the future, creating opportunities for collabs between Runestone and my next game.

For the music, I just copied the music from the original Runestone from my previous world, not trying to change any of it, since I didn't have much knowledge of music and knew that any changes I made could make the music worse rather than better.

'The songs in the game were already iconic in themselves... every player could recognize the music with their eyes closed just by listening to the first second of the melody that played when they opened the game.' I thought contentedly as I listened to the music I'd made.

With these songs playing, Players will be much more immersed in the game and perhaps increase their average playing time even more because of it.

Seeing the changes I'd made, I was curious to see how Players would react to the game.

So I looked at the clock, set the time for the update to go online and disconnected from the game, opening the stream and Owen to see how the Players would react to the changes in Season 01!
