Getting a Sugar Mommy in Cultivation World!!

Chapter 579 "Ready For Another Round?"

"Hmmm?" Right before the wall between the spaces tore, the magic spell Noah had deployed gave him the warning he had been waiting for. His figure vanished before reappearing in the main field before the sect building.

"Are they finally making their move?" Noah turned his head to see the space beside him tearing open and an old man walking out of it. Following the old man, two women also appeared beside him.

Noah nodded in response before looking at the disciples who were still practicing in the middle of the field.

"We should send them inside to protect—"

*Boom!*

Before Shisan could finish her words, something interrupted her. She saw a gust of wind almost akin to a storm flowing in the direction of their sect. Had it not been for the array formation covering the sect, they would have also heard the deafening explosion that followed along with the sight.

"What…"

"Are we being attacked?"

"What the hell is that?"

The disciples, caught by the suddenness of the event, could only look at the scene with astonishment and disbelief in their eyes.

*Woosh!*

The small storm reached their place only to be stopped by an invisible field at the edge of the mountain.

Though dust covered their sight, Noah and the others, who had high cultivation, were able to see what happened with a single glance. Noah noticed this and deactivated the sound-blocking function; even though the sound of the attacks was annoying, it helped them locate the direction of the attack for those unable to see anything.

"This is…?" Old Man Ming narrowed his eyes sharply, as if something had caught his attention. Immediately after his words sounded, they heard the sound of air being torn and something approaching them.

*Woosh!*

The dust started to settle as the "incoming attack" came into everyone's sight. Seeing a strange metallic object stopping right above their mountain, the disciples panicked a little while the elders narrowed their eyes.

*Click!*

*TrrrrCUCKK!*

The cylindrical rod, which seemed to be 10 meters long, came to a stop before several parts of its body started to move in different directions. A greenish-blue glow appeared inside each part that rotated and moved.

The rod finally moved as one of its ends pointed at the intact barrier above the Benevolent Guardian Sect.

*SHENNNNG!*

The same glow that radiated from the device gathered at the end of the rod as if preparing to release it at them.

As if realizing what was happening, Noah's eyes narrowed sharply. "Incoming!" he warned the rest of the elders before raising his hands to reinforce the barrier if needed.

*BOOM!*

As if responding to his words, the gathered energy was released at once in the form of a destructive ray. The light tore through the air and collided with the barrier almost instantly.

Shisan and Old Man Ming moved to help Noah while Xin Yan moved towards the disciples, who were unable to react and were still looking at the energy ray in the sky with different emotions.

Even from inside the barrier, they could feel the tremendous pressure radiating from the device.

"Can the barrier last against something like that?" Ma Li could not help but mutter, seeing the sparks produced from the collision of energies flying everywhere.

The others beside her did not respond, but they silently looked at the attack that was trying to penetrate the defenses of their sect.

"You have nothing to worry about." Just then, Xin Yan's ethereal voice sounded, and they snapped out of their dazed state.

"This attack is not powerful enough to harm the barrier. Even if it could, the three elders are there to reinforce it." They all turned to see three figures flying in the air, looking at the attack without any care; even Noah had lowered his hands.

"That's good, but what is that thing?" Jiang Shi exhaled loudly, not even realizing how long she had been holding her breath.

"I have no idea. It looks like a weapon of mass destruction from its attack, but I have never seen such a thing in my life." Xin Yan shook her head in reply before adding, "We don't have all the information about the enemy, so we cannot be careless while dealing with them."

Hearing her words, Yuan Ming clenched his hands. 'I am still powerless; I have to grow stronger.'

His hate for the cult had reached its peak when he and the rest were kidnapped.

Just then, something happened once more!

The energy beam that was attacking the barrier stopped its assault as if realizing it could not harm it at all.

It flipped before trying to move away in the same direction it had come from.

"Since you are done with your attack, it's my turn." Seeing this scene, Noah snorted and gathered qi around his hands.

Just as the mechanical rod was about to run away, the air around it started to change. Small flakes of ice began to appear out of thin air and spread until they covered the moving device, slowing it down to the point it started to move downwards.

"Now, that was surprising~" The air seemed to freeze as an amused voice echoed from all around the mountain peak. "To think the barrier protecting this measly small sect would be this powerful~"

The voice did not even seem disappointed that their attack had failed; instead, it only seemed very amused and curious.

"But sadly, I cannot let you have our prized possession." As if seeing through Noah's intention, the voice spoke again, and the falling cylindrical rod started to blink with a red light.

The speed of blinking light only got faster until…

*BOOM!!!*

The device self-destructed, producing such an explosion that half of the barrier was covered with flash and debris from the aftermath.

Even though the barrier managed to block the aftermath, the loud explosion and flash were too powerful for average cultivators.

"Everyone, move towards the mansion!" Xin Yan, who protected the disciples behind her with an ice shield, spoke urgently as the ice dispersed into the air.

"What?"

"Why?"

"We want to fight as well. We are not weak anymore!" Yuan Ming protested, determination filling his eyes—a look the others shared with him.

Since they hadn't seen the number of people they were facing, most of them believed they could help as well.

Then a gust of wind came and cleared the view before their sect as Xin Yan replied to their request. "I know that you want to help, and we all appreciate it."

She paused, her face turning away from their determined gaze. Her eyes shone with a blue light as she looked outside the sect, deep into the woods.

"But… as of now, you will be more of a burden than help against that army."

Following her gaze, everyone looked outside the sect. As if their eyes were enhanced by mystical power, they could see everything without anything blocking their sight.

Their eyes were wide open, their mouths hanging in the air. The area before the sect, which used to be filled with tall, thick trees and small peaks, was now flattened into a wasteland.

Wherever they looked, they saw nothing but broken trees and rubble left by the destruction they had failed to witness.

"Just what kind of power can cause this..?" Ma Li muttered under her breath as she tried to take in the scope of the destruction.

But no one was there to answer her. Xin Yan, like the others, did not look at the destruction but fixed her gaze deep into the intact forest as if it were locked on something—or someone.

"What a waste of such a precious weapon…" The voice sounded again, but this time, it did not come from all directions but from the same place where the elders were looking.

Amidst the silence after the destruction, the sound of footsteps reached everyone's ears as a figure walked out from the shadows of the forest.

Before everyone was a tall man wearing loose black robes with red outlines that seemed to be hanging on his thin, frail frame. Even though he appeared weak, his steps were steady and filled with power.

No one was able to see the face of this enemy, as it was covered by a cloth mask. Seeing the familiar mask of the Red Dawn Sect made Shisan clench her fist and unconsciously release her killing intent.@@novelbin@@

It was not just her; the disciples, including Ruo'er, were no better. They all hated them for harming innocent Song Liu's mind.

"But well, I will make sure to take interest for the loss we will suffer today. I am a man of principle, after all~" Ignoring the chilling gaze he was receiving, the man continued to speak after he came to a stop.

Right after he stopped speaking, the man raised his hands making another device appear out of thin air. "Ready for another round? I wonder how your barrier will fare against this~"
