Chapter 603: The Cult Is The Salvation of The World

After Amon left, the atmosphere turned awkward with both Song Liu and the captain standing there without saying a word.

"What is your name?" Song Liu finally broke the silence as she looked at the middle-aged man.

"It's Chen Ming." Chen Ming, the only captain alive under Amon, appeared to be quiet despite the previous awkward atmosphere. "Is there something you want to ask, young miss?"

The young woman nodded calmly while noting how good the man was at noticing and analyzing things.

"There are many things I don't know about the cult or about what we are meant to do here. Ever since I woke up after the baptism, I was being held captive by the Benevolent Guardian Sect." The baptism she was referring to was the process they went through where their soul was tempered to be loyal to the lord of the 'Red Dawn Cult.'

Hearing her experience, Chen Ming was not surprised as he had already analyzed most of it by himself.

"Indeed, someone was supposed to give you the briefing of our purpose and everything we work for after you woke up, but seeing how your awakening was disturbed..." With an understanding, Chen Ming started to clarify things Song Liu wanted to ask.

"First of all, even though we are a cult, we call ourselves the salvation of the world." As he spoke, Chen Ming showed a look of obsession on his face that was unlike the character he had shown to Song Liu so far.

"Our main goal is to lead this world to evolution under the name of our lord. In our organization, The Lord is our everything! After the Lord, we have to listen to the High Priestess. She is the only person who can contact the Lord when He wishes to give us His guidance." Slowly, Chen Ming started to explain the working dynamics of the whole cult.

He explained how the High Priestess dealt with the generals directly. Each general had been assigned a country to build their base and influence in, hidden from the eyes of the world.

Just like Chen Ming, other generals also have captains working under them—four captains per general.

Song Liu even asked why she was so highly valued, but Captain Chen Ming only said that it would be explained to her once she met the High Priestess.

"Where are we currently?" After careful thinking, Song Liu asked another question she was naturally curious about. "I can tell that we are no longer in the Feng Empire, but I am not sure where exactly. Even the qi and air here feel very heavy and dense in this place."

"Feng Empire?" A sneer suddenly interrupted their conversation. The two of them turned and saw Amon had returned from wherever he went.

Amon was no longer a single-armed man; he had miraculously gained his arm back, making it appear as if he had never been injured in the first place.

"Little girl, we are not even on the Red Fire Continent, let alone the Feng Empire. Besides, this place can never be compared to the likes of the Feng Empire. You cannot find qi of this quality in any other places than the sacred spaces where the Hidden Families have claimed their territories."

While speaking of the Hidden Families, a look of disdain appeared in his expression.

"Come on now, you can explain everything to her after we are done with the day. A general meeting is being called. All the available generals are summoned, and we cannot let the High Priestess wait for us."

Chen Ming froze upon hearing about the meeting and hurriedly walked off the platform. Song Liu also followed behind him without asking any more questions. Amon turned in the direction of the towering gates of the mountain cave and walked towards it without stopping.

Just when Song Liu thought the man would use some kind of tool to open the doors, he walked right through the doors.

That's right!

Amon walked straight through the doors without opening them or using the help of any kind of portal. As soon as his body touched the stone gates, it phased through them without any hindrance.

"Don't be surprised, just follow behind me without panicking," Chen Ming advised and took the lead to enter the gates next. Song Liu stood there with a stunned expression on her face. But the next second, she composed herself and took a step forward.

Just as her feet touched the stone—or what she saw it as—she felt there was nothing there hindering her path, and her feet phased through it easily. Seeing this, she gained a bit of confidence in her steps and walked right through the gates.

Woosh!

On the other side of the gate, the air rippled as jade feet appeared out of nowhere, followed by the whole body of the person. Song Liu felt the view before her eyes changing once more. Her eyes widened, her mouth went agape at the sudden changes.

From the wilderness of the forest, she found herself standing in the most beautiful garden she had seen in her life. The garden was vast and lush, with vibrant hues of green evenly cut grass that sparkled like emeralds, interspersed with flowers of every imaginable color—deep crimson lotuses, delicate pink cherry blossoms, and radiant golden lilies that seemed to glow faintly in the light.

As if the scene was not heavenly enough, the golden glow from the setting sun in the distance added another layer of beauty to the scene.

With a deep breath of air, Song Liu felt her body revitalizing, all of the pores on her body opening and closing like gaping holes, trying to take in the fresh air. The scent of the air carried the sweetness of flowers, and the feeling was simply intoxicating.

Upon turning, another thing that caught her eyes was the exquisite mansion that stood in the heart of this garden. Its structure was a blend of delicacy and sophisticated grandeur, something she had never seen in her life.

"You can admire this place later; we have places to be." Amon's amused voice broke the girl from her reverie. It was clear that the man was enjoying her baffled reaction.
