545  The Swarm Sovereign

Shane considered for a moment before looting the two Zombies to ensure that he would be able to get all its lootable items. After all, he believed that these two would give some decent items because of their special status.

He first looted the mantis or the Scythewing King Zombie.

Nonetheless, with all these items he was able to get, rewarding his team for helping him kill the Zombie Lord would be a lot easier.

After all, he didn't want them to work for nothing.

He wanted to give them something in exchange and these loots could be one of them.

At this time, the group soon focused on the massive double doors beyond this hall.

"Let's enter." Shane said as he confirmed that everyone was ready.

They couldn't even see the walls as it was filled with moving insects as if the wall was alive.

In the center of the Sovereign's chamber sat the Necrotic Swarm Sovereign, an enormous undead abomination that resembled a fusion of a humanoid corpse and a monstrous insect queen.

'That thing definitely deserved to be called a Zombie Lord.' Shane thought as he realized how scary the Zombie Lord was.

It had an exoskeleton of black and green, making it look really tough to deal with. Behind it, thousands of undead locusts, corpse flies, and parasitic wasps skittered around.

"You dare enter my domain, flesh-wearers? You will be consumed, and your bones will hatch my next generation."

As soon as he spoke, Shenlong felt surprised.

"It could speak… Is he not completely zombified?" He was shocked and curious about this discovery.

"It still had sentience… How is this possible?" Sol muttered in shock as she had never expected this to happen at all.

However, Shane already knew that Zombie Lords could speak but it was different for others, so he could understand how shocked they were.

Shane grinned under his helmet as he tightened his hold on his Eon Edge.

"We'll see about that, Insect Zombie…" As he said this, he planted his three Turrets that had already cooled down and ready to be used.

Their conversation ended just like that, as the Necrotic Swarm Sovereign shrieked to attack! In just a moment, the swarm of insects moved forward in a massive tide!

"Lysandra, Kale… We'll be at the frontlines!" Shane reminded.

Soon, Shane, Lysandra, and Kale activated their bio-armor!

In just a second, the organic plates under their coats, molded over their current armor like a second skin. Shane's bio-armor covered his entire body in just a few seconds, reinforcing his defenses to withstand the swarm…

"Hold the line!" Shane said as he trusted his armor and focused on killing as many insects as he could.

Just like that, a wave of undead locusts and other insects crashed into him like a storm.

A series of crunching sounds could be heard as the insects would get destroyed the moment they tried to smash on Shane's armor…

Indeed, Shane's enhanced bio-armor absorbed the impact without any issues.

Including his high strength, he was about to destroy anything that touched him…

Finally, Zephyrion commanded an army of skeleton warriors to crush the Sovereign's swarm of insects!

"We're doing alright… We just need to kill all these annoying insects" Shane muttered as their visibility of the Swarm Sovereign was basically zero because of the swarm. He then activated his five tokens containing the Aura Sentinel to lessen everyone's pressure.

He didn't immediately use it since they would just get crushed or broken by the tide of insects. Now that the swarm had weakened, the defenses brought by his Aura Sentinel would be a lot more reliable.

"Shenlong… Focus on the Zombie Lord!" Shane immediately said as he suddenly sensed some danger.

Thankfully, Shenlong, the legendary monk, was also monitoring the movements of the Zombie Lord.

He used a powerful dash, different from the Armored Dash, and crushed all the insects blocking him…

In just one move, Shenlong was able to get closer to the Zombie Lord and stopped it from sneaking up on Shane's group!

"Sssssaaa~" The Swarm Sovereign was definitely not expecting that a human would crash on its body and felt enraged.

The Necrotic Swarm Sovereign, seeing its lesser minions struggling, let out a shriek.

Suddenly, the walls of the chamber burst open, releasing a flood of venomous, parasitic larvae. At the same time, the Sovereign spread its massive wings, flapping them once just enough to send out a massive wave of toxic spore!
