Chapter 125 Taming the Yin Energy
Instantly, a cold touch shot through Wen Ran, sending violent shivers down his spine. The foreign, soft press of her lips was nothing like he had expected. In truth, it was nothing more than an icy, suffocating chill that quickly consumed him. There was no warmth, no stimulation, only the overwhelming coldness of death itself. His heart, once thundering with fire and fury, stilled in mere moments. A quick, painless death. His body, once full of life, remained frozen in the same position as when their lips first met, suspended in time. A thin, frosty layer of ice began to form over his skin, slowly creeping into his internal organs, chilling him from the inside out.
Wen Ran had not anticipated this exact outcome, though a part of him, perhaps deep within, had feared it. Yet, despite the dark certainty of what was happening, he had clung to the hope that he might escape this place, somehow, alive. He had hoped his strength, his resolve, would be enough to break free from her icy grasp. But it was not. The seconds stretched into eternity as he stood there, a frozen statue.
The woman watched him carefully, circling him slowly as if inspecting a work of art, her gaze intense yet filled with curiosity. Her expression shifted as she examined the stillness of his form, and her eyes softened slightly. Despite her cold, unfeeling nature, there was something almost tender about the way she observed him, her face reflecting the faintest hint of admiration. To her, Wen Ran was the perfect creation, so perfect, in fact, that even in death, he retained his beauty.
The coldness in her demeanor never wavered, but a warm smile, small and subtle, crept across her face. It was the smile of someone looking at their beloved, the object of their desire, the one they had waited for, the one they had chosen. A silent, knowing smile. She watched him with affection as if he were the very embodiment of what she had longed for, a reflection of her own lost desires, her own unfulfilled yearning.
Little by little, as the days passed, the statue of Wen Ran slowly became encased in a thick layer of ice, the frosty prison inching closer and closer to completion.
"Good, the first step is done," the woman murmured softly to herself, her voice smooth and cold like the ice surrounding him. Her eyes lingered on Wen Ran's frozen form, a soft smile curling on her lips as she watched him, her gaze filled with something unsettling yet affectionate. "Soon, after a few thousand years, he will emerge as the true successor to my throne. And then, I will be able to take my revenge at his side. His perfect features were meant to be the face of my beloved emperor. Perhaps, once he helps me resurrect, we can take over the whole world together..."
Her words hung in the air like an ominous promise, the cold winds that swept through the cave carrying the weight of her dark ambitions. She seemed almost affectionate in her gaze, her heartwarming smile contradicting the chilling nature of her plans. There was something unnerving in the way she spoke, like she had already pictured it all in her mind, the grand schemes of ruling beside him.
But little did she know, deep within Wen Ran, something was quietly stirring. In the stillness of the ice, hidden beneath layers of frost, minor changes were taking place in his body. These subtle shifts were too small for anyone to notice, yet they would soon prove to be the catalyst that shattered all of her carefully laid plans, plans that would soon be undone by forces she could never have foreseen.
Inside Wen Ran's dantian, a crimson object, glowing like blood, spun fiercely in place. It was a force unto itself, protecting his dantian from the biting cold that threatened to freeze him solid along with his body. As it battled against the relentless frost, it exuded an energy of its own, pushing against the cold, trying desperately to unfreeze the frozen meridians and restore the flow of power. Yet, despite its determination, it couldn't achieve its goal at first. Frustration flickered through its essence, and like a warrior with an indomitable spirit, it grew more aggressive.
With forceful pride, it struck against the frozen meridians, its crimson energy crackling as it surged through them. It didn't seek permission, it simply imposed its will, pounding at the frozen channels, sending waves of spiritual energy with the intention of breaking open their icy barriers. Slowly, persistently, it chipped away at the frosty grip on Wen Ran's body, forcing the ice to relent and allowing the flow of power to resume, albeit with a struggle.

Little by little, the object consumed the yin energy that had held the meridians captive, strengthening itself with each pulse. As the crimson energy roared inside, it shot forth, channeling its power into the spiritual rivers, where the energy sought out the very core of Wen Ran's essence. One river, faintly pulsing with fire, caught the attention of the crimson object. Seeing it, the energy surged forward, expanding the fire, fanning the flames and guiding the fiery energy to assist in its mission. The two forces, fire and blood, began to work together, slowly unraveling the cold that had threatened to lock him away.
Soon, the cold yin energy was pushed aside and drawn into one of the spiritual rivers, where it turned frosty blue, radiating coldness that threatened to freeze anything it touched. But even as the two opposing energies, yin and yang, ice and fire, clashed, the crimson object stood above them, unwavering, its aura commanding and domineering. It made the two forces submit to its will, pushing them into harmony. The yin energy, the fire energy, and the crimson object, all combined into a perfect circle of balance.
And in that moment, the once frozen eyes of the youth shot open once again, their intense gaze piercing through the icy silence. The room seemed to tremble as the woman's breath caught in her throat. A deep, powerful force radiated from him, the energy in his body surging as if a dam had broken, releasing a torrent of strength and resolve.
