Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

"Head, I don't have any conflict. But I recently visited Virez City. There I stayed in the Perry Hotel for a few hours," I replied.

Howard's eyes flickered. This was an unexpected answer for him. He didn't expect Vincent Carey to be daring enough to spend time inside one of the enemy's dens.

"You didn't tell me about this," Paul Lin uttered in shock and disbelief.@@novelbin@@

Stella had the same expression as well. She widened her eyes in surprise. They all knew how dangerous it was to stay inside the Perry Family Hotel.

"Do you know what a great risk it was?"

"What would have happened if someone saw you there?" Howard asked.

"They would have already killed you and removed your traces before anyone found you," Howard added.

Hearing that, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Because one of them had happened, and before they tried to kill me. I had escaped successfully and killed an important enemy in that process.

I kept my outward expression neutral.

"Did anyone see you?" Howard asked after some thought. It felt highly unlikely that no one spotted Jeremy Night there.

Paul Lin showed a doubtful look as well.

Stella's eyes flashed with a glint. She thought there was much more to it.

Feeling Head Howard's gaze, I decided to talk about Leona Perry only.

"Yes, before leaving the hotel, I came across Leona Perry. We spoke for a bit before I left the place," I answered.

Howard was stunned again. This young man in front of him kept surprising him. Who was Leona Perry?

She is the daughter of the current Head of the Perry Family. She is also a student of one of the Magic Palace Masters in the True Elements Society.

She had reason to kill Vincent Carey. But this young man had not only spoken to her but returned alive.

"Paul, did you know this?" Howard turned towards Paul Lin.

Paul Lin startled and replied, "Head, I don't know about his stay. He told me that he went to Virez City that day."

Stella showed a serious expression for the first time. She was very well aware of the Perry Family's nature. They wouldn't let an opportunity slip by. Vincent Carey's stay there was a perfect opportunity for them to do anything.

"Then why?" she asked herself in her heart.

It could be said that they were delayed by something else or they had other plans in their minds. Either way, Vincent Carey was lucky to escape.

"Vincent Carey, don't play with your life. You don't know the horror of these wizard families," Stella warned.

On the other hand, I was dumbfounded. I didn't know why they were showing such serious expressions. I had not even shared the whole truth. If I told them that I had killed Charon Perry, I wondered what their reaction would be.

Howard controlled his emotions. He could tell that this young man in front of him was not at all serious. Then he realized that Vincent was not native to the Ancient Redwood Country.

So he might not know the dark history and all the wars that happened in the past.

"Alright, you must be wondering whether I'm being overly cautious or not. But I'm not," Howard said in a serious tone.

"Do you know of the existence of the Magic Lord, right?" Howard asked.

I nodded and replied, "A level above Magic Level-10."

"Yes, the former Head of the Perry Family is a Magic Lord. He came to the campus not long ago. When I confronted him, he told me that he was looking for someone."

"That someone is none other than you," he revealed the truth.

Hearing that, I felt as if a hammer struck my head. I was so close to death.

"Meeting a hostile Magic Lord is the same as death," I said in my heart. I knew why such an existence appeared. It must be that woman.

Leona Perry did report to her family. Otherwise, the Magic Lord wouldn't have come here. My heart was like surging waves.

Before the too-strong emotions could impact me, I calmed my heart. But I did falter at my outward expression.

A moment of fearful expression appeared.

Howard nodded his head in satisfaction. He felt Vincent Carey's expression was normal right now.

If the fear of Wizard Families didn't strike him, then the name of the Magic Lord would alert him hereafter.

Stella and Paul Lin knew beforehand, but they didn't tell Vincent. Because the news was too shocking to them as well.

"I don't know why he was looking for you. That's why I summoned you here. But you had only spent a few hours in the Perry Hotel, which was not enough to attract the attention of the Magic Lord."

"So something else must have happened, which we are not aware of yet," Howard said in a normal tone.

For strong people, there is no need for evidence. If they find someone suspicious, they might want to get an answer from him.

So I'm currently on their target list.

"Head, can we ask for help from the Mage Union?" Paul Lin asked.

"Mage Union?"

"It's difficult. They don't care about the internal politics at all. We should handle this issue on our own," Howard replied.

"Alright, let's end this meeting. Young man, I hope you don't involve yourself in such dangerous places again. Not every time will you be lucky," Howard said.

"I won't do it next time," I replied.

Then Elder Paul stood up to drop me off.

I returned to the dorm room. After entering, I locked the door and sat on the sofa with a heavy expression on my face.

"A Magic Lord came to the campus. If Head Howard hadn't been there, then my ending would have been decided," I said in my heart.

Now, I think it's impossible to take a step outside the campus.
