Chapter 1248 Part 2: Rhys learns the truth

Perry Family:

"Rhys," Callen called out. The next second, the coercion disappeared into thin air.

Rhys felt pressure on him. He was locked on by the gaze of his father. He came to his senses before asking, "What's going on?"

"How come my son is dead?"

"I left him in your care, but you have failed to protect him," Rhys said with anger. His eyes were reddened. His heart was still raging.

Callen looked at his son and said, "My grandson's death is a mystery. We have invited many unique and special wizards to find the clue."

"But none of them were able to find a clue," he added.

Rhys raised his eyebrows in surprise. His anger slowly decreased, and rationality kicked in. He heard his father's words but found it hard to believe.

His father is a Magic Lord. To think he was feeling helpless. Rhys thought there was something going on. His son must have offended someone.

Otherwise, people would think twice before taking on the Perry Family. The killer had not only killed his son but made his body disappear and left no clue behind.

This kind of operation must have been done by experienced wizards from top wizarding organizations.

"Father, did Charon offend anyone?" Rhys asked.

At this time, Donna crawled out of the rubble. She was slightly injured, so she didn't stay any longer. She left the place to take care of her injuries.

More importantly, she didn't want to see Rhys. She knew Rhys must be fuming in anger. If anyone stayed close to him, they would be attacked by him.

Callen heard Rhys' question. He immediately thought of the kid named Vincent Carey. It was not a clue, but it was the only possible connection they had.

"Father, if there is anything, tell me without hiding it," Rhys asked again.

Cooper's expression changed. He didn't know what his father was thinking right now, but he didn't feel good.

"Yes, there is a kid named Vincent Carey. He has a feud with our Perry Family. More importantly, Charon hated him, and he had tried to kill that kid multiple times."

"But the strange thing is that kid stayed in the Perry Family Hotel right before Charon's death," Callen said.

"Father, you are speaking without evidence," Cooper immediately interjected. He didn't expect his father to be thinking about that kid.

"Yes, I don't have any evidence yet. But don't you find it strange? Everyone knew about the feud between the two. Yet that kid dared to stay in our hotel."

"He must have planned his stay there," Callen said in a cold tone.

Cooper was dumbfounded. He found it hard to refute it. But how could a level-6 wizard do that? He had thought about this matter.@@novelbin@@

But even in this case, someone must have helped that kid. Yet they hadn't found any evidence so far.

"What's his background?"

"Which force is he from?"

Rhys asked back-to-back questions.

Callen explained it as well. But Rhys was unconvinced after knowing that the kid was nobody who joined the True Elements Society using a quota.

He thought the family should have captured that kid to get information. But they were scared of the True Elements Society Magic Lord.

"Father, do one thing for me. You stop that Magic Lord for me. I will capture that kid. If any wizard dares to come in my way, then their end will be miserable," Rhys said in a cold tone.

This time he had clarity in his thoughts. Since there was only one connection, he decided to capture that kid himself. A level-6 Magic Lord posed no threat to him.

"Alright, we will do that," Callen agreed.

Cooper was shocked. These two were making decisions without consulting him. He was the current family head. And what about the talk of stopping Magic Lord Howard?

They still didn't know the depth of the True Elements Society. Their real strength was unknown to the outside world.

"Father, it's risky. If they try to attack us, then it will be troublesome. No other Aristocratic Families would come to rescue us," Cooper tried to convince them.

Their plan was wrong. This would lead to a lot of deaths. Their Perry Family may be pushed backwards in wealth and strength. If it happens, it would take a long time for them to recover.

"My son is dead. And you are worried about the family's interests. It's your responsibility to protect my son. But you have failed."

"I think I should start demanding answers from you," Rhys said in a cold tone.

Cooper's eyes flashed with anger. He knew this would happen: the baseless accusations against him. Both his daughter and Charon enjoyed equal rights. He didn't show any favoritism.

His father knows the truth.

"Stop it. It's not Cooper's fault. If Charon was mistreated, do you think I would watch silently?" Callen asked.

Hearing that, Rhys calmed down.

Callen then said, "Cooper, I have a plan. If the plan works out, then the True Elements Society won't be able to question us."

Hearing that, Cooper raised his eyebrows in question.

Rhys was eager to know as well. He wanted to capture that kid as soon as possible. He hoped that his family would cooperate with him.

Then they talked about a few other things before ending the meeting. Rhys went to his old mansion.

Cooper returned to the main building. Thanks to his father, the problem was solved. But he still felt at a loss. It wasn't good idea to go against the True Elements Society.

But he thought about Rhys' condition right now. He couldn't convince him, let alone his father. He could only listen to them.

Shortly afterward,

He was in his study room. He was giving orders to the Perry Family wizards who were outside the city right now. He wanted all of them to return.

He didn't know about the Aristocratic Families. If he got help from them, then it would be good. His father told him that he had a plan. He didn't know whether it was true or not.

But he would try in his own way to save the family's foundation.
