The solution he eventually settled for is to make money. If he can make enough money or acquire enough resources to become a godclad, he will be accepted as an officer immediately.

This solution is not some secret matter. Every probationary officer knows it. But less than the senior ones who replaced dead officers succeed in using their wealth in becoming godclads. It is because it is very difficult to achieve.

They have to prepare their existence first. But that needs resources.

This requirement is why the poor can't become godclads. Only the rich who have done sufficient preparations or people with insane talents can take on a divine flesh and not die.

Unfortunately, there is no way to test for that kind of talent. The only way to know is to try and take on divine flesh without due preparation.

For example, if divine flesh happens to wander around a village. If that divine flesh is powerful enough, everyone in that village that sees it will die.

But if there is someone with incredible one-in-a-billion talent, they might be able to withstand that divine flesh. They might even be able to assimilate it without dying.

Of course, that doesn't mean that they can use that divine flesh yet. They still need to improve their existence so that they can use something so powerful.

This matter of preparing his existence is very important. It is not only important to him; it is also important to everyone else too.

The human body and mind are just too weak to bear the burden of divine flesh. Even though the lord of madness cut many Supreme beings into tiny bits and refined those bits into relatively harmless divine artifacts which humans call divine flesh, humans still need to bolster their existence in order to be able to accommodate them.

Without mana, humans can't evolve. They are so weak that even though a great and powerful being was slaughtered for them to eat, they still need to be hand-held and spoon-fed each bite.

If they bite more than they can chew, they will either explode or he subsumed by the divine flesh. The latter is what is known as mutation.

Even he is not exempt from this fate. The fact that he has a lot of knowledge from the future doesn't mean his existence is powerful enough to assimilate and use divine flesh.

The fact that he was able to survive that anomaly that wandered into the village and killed everyone despite being stronger than divine flesh is only because of the talent he brought from the future.

The talent he brought from the future was very compatible with the anomaly, so the anomaly didn't become hostile with him. Instead, it thought he was part of it because the talent had disguised him very well.

He thought about it and said, "If anything, I need more preparation, not less."

He already has something powerful in his body, so his existence is already burdened. This will make it more difficult for him to assimilate divine flesh in the future.

So he still needs to make preparations, and it needs to be more thorough than what others normally do. It also needs to be done very quickly before the anomaly in his body goes out of control.

All of these need money from him or for him to brave danger. Those are his two options.

If he gets money, he will use that money to buy special pills made from plants and animals that will strengthen his existence. That's the first option. It is expensive but safe.

As for the second option, it is that he can go out directly into the wilds to hunt for those special plants and animals. If he gets them, he can sell them for money or for pills. This is the second option.

Both options have their problems. For the first option, the main problem is that demand for pills is always high. He can have money and still can't buy those pills.

For the second option, the main problem is the obvious danger. The pillars are expensive not only because of demand but also because of the danger hunters have to face in the wilds.

He shook his head and lamented, "Danger or money. It should have been easy if I were strong. But I am not strong and can't steal. If I could steal, all of these problems would be easy to solve."

The problem of money would be easy to solve if he could steal that money. Unfortunately, he can't because stealing is dangerous, and he doesn't have the power to withstand the danger.

His options to get the money he needs through stealing are to steal from many people or steal from one single person. Both are dangerous to him.

If he decides to steal from a single person, he will encounter grave danger because anyone who possesses enough money to help him become a godclad must either be a godclad themselves or have the protection of a godclad.

Godclads are not a danger to him only because of the divine flesh that they have assimilated but also because their existence is stronger than his even without the divine flesh. He is not a godclad, so he would be killed easily if he encountered one.

There shouldn't be the danger of a godclad if he decides to steal from many weak people separately. But having to steal more than once will create more chances for something to go wrong. One mistake is enough for everything to go wrong.
