He placed those four bowls on the dining table and then said to the rest of the family, "Keep a sharp dagger with you at night. Even though the mammies are guarding, we can never neglect our own safety."

For some reason, he had a bad feeling.

Shen Li nodded as he agreed with Ye Liu. He too felt that something was off about the entire situation. Yu Jin was clearly playing in front of the house but then he was found in the well, it was not only weird but also suspicious.

Grandma Fang looked at the three mers and silently cursed herself for being useless. If she was two… no five years younger, she could have protected these mers and they wouldn't have to worry like this.

"The women of the village are also going to the Black Pot village tonight," Fang Chi spoke while eating his meal. "They want to bring the iron and tools that the blacksmiths used to our village. "However, Yu Dong suggested to the villagers that they should bring the tools with them. If they do that, she had enough blueprints to make a few families learn some skills."

"There is a chance that there will be danger but we need to protect ourselves," Shen Li said with a firm voice.

More than half of the Black Pot Village was killed because of the two people from the capital. Though it was slightly unscrupulous to kick someone down when they were in such a situation, Yu Dong knew that it was better to squash the ant before it bit them.

Shen Li was worried that someone from the Black Pot Village would retaliate.

"let's sleep together," Shen Li said to the two mers.

The two mers nodded and agreed. Grandma Fang also moved to the room closest to them for their safety.

Although, they were worried and frightened, neither of the mers slept that night and continued to hold the daggers and safety devices that Yu Dong had given to them.

They couldn't let anyone take advantage of them when their wife was gone.

Grandma Fang was also holding a sharp knife while wearing a shock bracelet on her wrist. No matter what, she was determined to protect the mer.

Even the children did not go to sleep and waited for dawn to break.

"Mai, you should go to sleep," seeing that Yu Mai was also awake with the children, Ye Liu said to him lovingly. "If you go to bed late then you will not be able to grow taller in the future."
