Harem Streamer System: Every Crime I Broadcast Wins Me a Superheroine

Chapter 173: Way Home, Mega Obstacle

Scott shot forward on the rooftop's edge and his eyes went wide with absolute shock as he shouted—

"NO WAY!"

The sheer intensity of his voice startled Lady Fortress so much that she instinctively leaned back as her small body jolted in surprise. But Scott didn't even notice—he was too caught up in his own turmoil. His breathing was sharp, erratic, as he desperately searched her face for any sign that this was some kind of cruel joke.

"You have to be kidding, right? Ri… Right?"

His voice wavered, thick with a desperate hope that she'd shake her head, tell him he was wrong—that none of this was his fault, that some deranged lunatic hadn't been using his face to slaughter people back on Earth One.

But Lady Fortress only lowered her head as her hands tightened into small fists on her lap.

"I'm… sorry…"

She muttered, barely above a whisper.

"But… just like how you're here… the other you—Super Scott—is on Earth One, and he's…"

She trailed off, unable to even finish the sentence.

Scott's breath hitched. He felt like he had just been punched in the gut. His arms dropped onto his thighs as his fingers dug into the fabric of his pants as he exhaled shakily and his gaze locked onto the sprawling city below.

"This is so fucking stupid…"

He muttered with a voice full of nothing but exhaustion and frustration.

"What the hell do they expect me to do now? Does everything just have to keep going wrong for me?!"

His teeth clenched as his hands curled into tight fists.

"I just wanted to fucking sleep after working my friggin' ass off to catch Ezel and send her back to her damn planet… but now this?!"

His nails dug into his palm as a deep as guttural growl left his aching throat.

"Why the hell does it have to be me?! Every. Single. Time. I can't stand it anymore!"

Just then, the System's voice cut through his raging thoughts with its usual mechanical calm.

[Because of the SIST device you built.]

Scott's breath hitched as the System continued.

[Super Scott has been waiting for months for you to construct your own version of the SIST device. The moment you activated it, he must have noticed the disturbances in space-time. That was all he needed to confirm that you had finally completed your own SIST. By synchronizing his with yours, he forced a dimensional swap. It's a risky process… but as long as he believed he could do it, then it was always possible.]

Scott's eyes darkened as the realization settled in.

He exhaled heavily and closed his eyes.

At least the anger was gone… for now.

Damn it. Of course, it was his fault.

"System… what's the next step?"

He asked with a strained voice.

"I don't have a SIST device here, and even if I did, I can't just sync it and swap us back without making things worse. So what the hell am I supposed to do? Is there anything in this world that I can use to get back home?"

His heartbeat was erratic.

The anxiety creeping into his mind made him feel like his ribs were caging a wild animal.

[Affirmative.]

Scott's eyes snapped open.

[In the outskirts of Metro City, where the Overwatch Agency Headquarters would be in your world, there exists a Dravekian stronghold known as the Neo-Genesis. It is a floating palace of crystal that serves as a repository for all the knowledge of the universe collected by the Draveks, including that of their now-destroyed homeworld, Vekxam. There is a possibility that by accessing the Neo-Genesis, you can find a way home.]

Scott's mind raced, the gears turning at full speed.

It made sense.

The Draveks were an advanced species—far beyond Earth in terms of scientific and technological prowess. If anyone had something that could bridge dimensions, it'd be them.

But…

"That's not a guarantee…" he muttered under his breath.

There was no telling if the Neo-Genesis even had the tech he needed. And even if it did, there was no saying it wouldn't require something impossible for him to access.

"Shit…"

He exhaled sharply.

"I don't like this. What if I just build another SIST device using the Omni-Fabricator?"

[Negative.]

Scott frowned.

[There are already two active SIST devices in this world. Attempting to build and synchronize another would disrupt the delicate balance of energy between them. The resulting destabilization could lead to a complete rupture in the spacetime fabric.]

Scott tapped his fingers against his thigh, thinking.

"Okay… but what if I made two SIST devices? Then I could sync them with the two already active devices, effectively stabilizing the freque—"

[Incorrect.]

The System cut him off.

[That many disruptions to the spacetime fabric would not only fail to stabilize the situation but would likely tear you apart at the atomic level before you could even make the switch.]

Scott clicked his tongue in frustration.

"Damn it, I figured as much…"

He placed a hand on his chin, thinking deeply.

"Looks like I'll have to go with the Neo-Genesis plan, even if I don't like it…"

SNAP! SNAP! SNAP!

Sharp, aggressive finger snaps yanked him out of his thoughts.

Scott blinked and turned his head.

Lady Fortress was glaring at him, her red, pouty face filled with obvious frustration.

"HELLO?! Earth to Nightwatch?!"

She huffed, leaning forward with an exasperated look.

"I've been trying to get your attention for minutes now! What's wrong with you?!"

Scott just blinked at her.

"Huh…?"

Scott shook his head, exhaling sharply as he pushed himself off the rooftop's edge. His eyes drifted toward the distant horizon, where the Metro City skyline met the vast, desolate outskirts. Somewhere out there was the Neo-Genesis — his last shot at fixing this insane mess.

He turned back to Lady Fortress.

There was determination blazing in his eyes.

"We need to get to the Neo-Genesis… it's our best shot at fixing this."

Lady Fortress folded her arms, tilting her head.

"Uh… wait, what's the—"

Scott didn't let her finish. "It's basically our ticket out of this hellhole and back to our world."

Without wasting another second, he activated the blue technophage in his veins.

A rush of blue energy rippled across his body, weaving itself into the Anti-Disaster Suit in an instant. His flowing white-and-blue cape billowed against the night air as he turned back to Lady Fortress.

"Alright…" he said. "We fly."

Scott was already in motion as he sprinted forward to launch himself into the sky—but right before takeoff, he skidded to a sudden stop. Something was off. He turned back.

Lady Fortress hadn't moved. She stood there, rubbing her arm, her expression unreadable but… hesitant.

Scott narrowed his eyes. "Uhm… what's wrong?"

Lady Fortress looked away briefly before mumbling—

"Well… uhm… my body still aches from earlier. I don't think I can fly without, you know… crashing like an idiot."

She awkwardly cleared her throat.

"So I, uh—ahhh!"

Before she could even finish, she found herself lifted effortlessly into Scott's arms. A sharp, high-pitched yelp left her lips as she instinctively smacked his chest—not in pain, but in sheer embarrassment.

"WHY did you just PICK ME UP like that?!"

She shrieked, eyes squeezed shut as if she couldn't even bear to look at him.

Unfazed, Scott simply raised an eyebrow.

"Huh? Didn't you just say all that so I would carry you?"

His voice was completely casual, like he was stating the weather.

"I mean, I wouldn't want you to try flying and end up face-planting into a building. You've got smooth skin, and your face is pretty. Would be a shame if either got messed up."

The words left his mouth naturally—no deeper meaning, no intention behind them. But to Lady Fortress, it was like getting hit by a meteor.

Her face burned bright red in an instant.

She curled up in his arms, practically folding herself into a ball like a tiny armadillo. She pressed her forehead against his chest, refusing to lift her gaze.

"S-, Sure… You can carry me then…"

Her eyes trailed to the side.

"It's not like I need you to, but if you think my skin and face are so pretty and worth protecting, then…"

Her voice became even softer, more hesitant.

"…then you should take responsibility… hero."

Scott blinked.

"Responsibility?"

He frowned slightly, tilting his head.

"What do you mean by that? I wasn't the one who punched you to another world. Well… I sort of was… but you get the point."

Lady Fortress took a deep breath, her grip tightening against his suit. She knew she couldn't back down now.

"What I mean is…"

She hesitated for only a second before finally blurting out—

"You have to marry me."

Scott practically recoiled, his body going rigid. His feet took instinctive steps backward—as if he could physically escape the words she had just thrown at him.

"MARRY you?!"

He repeated in absolute disbelief.

"How the hell did we go from 'I'll carry you' to marriage?! That's CRAZY!"

But Lady Fortress wasn't having any of it. Her face was still flushed, but her voice came out in a sharp, emotional burst.

"SO WHAT?! ARE YOU JUST GOING TO USE ME FOR MY BODY AND THEN DUMP ME WHEN THINGS GET SERIOUS?! YOU WANT ME TO GO BACK TO MY FATHER IN SHAME?!"

Her voice was so loud that every single bird perched on the massive Super Scott statue took off in a panicked frenzy.

Then silence.

Lady Fortress stiffened and her hands flew over her mouth as she let out a tiny, horrified screech.

She had never shouted like that before.

Never.

She was trained to be a warrior—stoic, disciplined, silent. Someone who showed her strength through actions, not words. And yet… she had just screamed like an emotional teenager.

『What the hell is wrong with me?』

She thought in mortification.

Slowly, she peeked up at Scott, praying that he hadn't been scared off by her outburst.

But when she saw his face—

Oh no.

Scott's expression was completely lost. Confused. Like his brain had short-circuited trying to process what the hell had just happened.

Her stomach twisted. She had screwed up, hadn't she?

For the first time in her life, Lady Fortress wanted to dig a hole and throw herself into it.

Scott took in a deep breath.

He forced himself to stay calm. The last thing he needed was to get dragged into whatever this was.

"Uh… to be honest…"

He exhaled sharply before he really started.

"I really can't deal with this right now, so… maybe we'll talk about it later."

He adjusted his grip on Lady Fortress, his face blank, his mind still trying to wrap itself around everything.

"Yeah, I saw you naked. But it's not that big of a deal that I have to marry you over it."

Lady Fortress twitched.

Scott continued with a guarded nonchalance.

"I mean, I get it. Every world has their own traditions, their own cultural rules, and I respect that. So I won't say it's silly or anything, but, y'know…"

His voice trailed off. His expression turned completely blank.

That was the last straw.

Lady Fortress snapped.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!"

Her fist shot up so fast Scott almost thought she was about to clock him in the jaw. Her teeth were gritted so tightly he swore he could hear them grinding. His body instinctively went on high alert, just in case she decided to throw logic out the window and deck him anyway.

But before she could do anything reckless, Scott adjusted his hold on her, cradling her a little closer.

The reaction was instantaneous.

Like a baby being rocked in their mother's arms, Lady Fortress' fury melted—her muscles losing tension as her face shifted from rage to an awkward, almost pouty silence.

Scott took full advantage of the moment, flashing her the most smug smile imaginable.

"Aha. That's more like it."

Lady Fortress froze.

Her eyes widened as realization hit her—she had just been tamed.

By him.

The mortification struck like lightning.

Her face flared red, and she immediately shouted—

"WHAT'S MORE LIKE IT?!"

Her first instinct was to fling herself out of his arms and put as much distance between them as possible.

But just as she was about to act on that impulse—

Scott's entire expression shifted.

His playful smugness vanished in an instant, replaced by sharp focus. His grip on Fortress tightened—not in restraint, but in readiness.

She noticed it immediately.

Her own instincts kicked in.

Her face hardened as her voice turned steady and firm.

"You feel that too?"

Scott locked eyes with her.

"Yeah…" he murmured. "I do."

Both of them turned their gaze upward.

Hovering high above them, shaded against the city lights, was a lone figure.

A towering man with a physique that looked like it was sculpted from raw power. His muscular arms were crossed over his broad chest, and his golden cape rippled in the night air. His white super suit gleamed as it stood in the presence of the gloomy city's skyline.

Then… his eyes—they were fierce and deadly.

Mega Man.

His bearded face remained unreadable as he gazed at them with a look of mental exhaustion… but beneath that exhaustion was something else.

Something final.

"Any hopes of returning to your world…"

Mega Man spoke with absolute authority.

"… should be effectively abolished as of now."

His brows lowered.

A pulse of golden energy radiated from his body—so powerful the very air seemed to shudder under its force.

Then, he spoke his next words—

"Stand ready."
