Chapter 132
Reinhold was completely surrounded.
Yet Lin watched him with tense suspicion.
This wouldn’t be the end.
That young, ambitious man still believed in himself too much.
"Surrender, Reinhold," Airan commanded, pointing her sword at him as she ascended the platform.
The once-handsome and tall Shieldbearer now had a twisted and ugly expression, refusing to acknowledge that he had been bested.
"Haha… hahaha… HAHAHAHA!"
"Are you laughing?"
Reinhold suddenly burst into laughter.
At first, it seemed as though he had lost his mind, but neither Airan nor Garin relaxed their guard. In truth, Reinhold had no clever escape.
He laughed loudly, while desperately searching for any way out. It wasn’t a calculated plan but a desperate, improvised attempt to survive the moment.
Unsure whether it would work, Reinhold decided to gamble.
"Lin! After enduring such humiliation, you still pretend to stand on the side of humanity? How commendable!"
"You’re still spouting nonsense?"
His absurd claim caused the entire square to pause in disbelief.
Even Lin almost lost composure for a moment, surprised that Reinhold was still sticking to that ridiculous narrative.
"Since the situation calls for brevity, I’ll be direct: Lin, the porter, has long since fallen and become a demon. He’s just hiding it!"
"Don’t lie! Lin’s noble deeds have already been testified to!" shouted Reuben in his defense.
"The acts you witnessed are nothing but tricks to gain humanity’s favor, all while pursuing the grander goal of the demons!"
Even though Reuben countered, Reinhold refused to back down.@@novelbin@@
"How do you plan to prove that? Lin is clearly human, as you can see."
The mage stepped forward, but his response backfired. Reinhold immediately seized on the question of proof.
What do you think?
