Chapter 140
Lin looked down at Nydrian, his face struck with shock.
In a fleeting moment, the archer had taken the Demon God’s skill in his stead, collapsing as she barely managed to turn her head, gazing up at him without end.
“Did I… help… at all…?”@@novelbin@@
“Don’t talk… the bleeding…!”
Blood gushed from the stumps of her severed arms instead of coughs.
A suffocating, metallic scent lingered in the air.
“I’ll heal you. Just hold on a bit longer!”
“No! No… it’s already too late….”
Arsil rushed over, attempting to use her holy power, but Nydrian stopped the saintess.
“It’s already… too late for me.”
Airan and the Hero’s party gathered around Nydrian. Even Tigria covered her mouth at the horrific sight of the fallen archer.
“Why did you do it?”
Lin’s voice trembled as he questioned the archer.
“Why did you have to sacrifice yourself?”
“Because… it’s my fault… that you ended up like this….”
Tears gathered in Nydrian’s eyes.
“This was the only… path… for you to find happiness… so you wouldn’t have to bear the burden of a sinner like me… for your sake….”
The elf’s face was already pale. Her lips had turned a faint purple, yet she struggled to continue speaking.
Finally, Lucy approached. She carried the Abyss and whispered quietly.
“If you’re in pain, just say so.”
“No… this is my own doing… I don’t deserve a peaceful death….”
Looking around at the members of the Hero’s party, Nydrian mustered her last bit of strength.
“Believe in me… just this once… please, even though I’ve been a fool… please….”
What do you think?
