Chapter 139
Each of Lin’s attacks landed with weight, yet they were raw and brutal.
If close, he punched; if there was distance, he rushed forward, stomping down with his foot—a combat style that was simple, crude, and purely violent.
But it was enough to make Reinhold feel threatened.
Crack!
Every time he blocked an attack, his shield, "Chaos," let out a painful wail.
Pale and desperate, Reinhold sought out the Demon God for aid.
‘Demon God! Don’t just watch—help me!’
[You fool! You’re the one who destroyed Lin’s homeland. He sees you as his primary target for revenge! Releasing his fury would obviously make him come after you first!]
Angria scoffed, her voice laced with irritation.
Here was the man who thought himself clever and shrewd, now whining for help like a child after losing face at the public trial and failing in strength.
She concluded he was useless after all.
She even began to wonder if choosing him had been a mistake from the start.
‘Weren’t you supposed to be able to control him with your power?’
[He’s in a frenzy. Whatever they did in his mindscape tore away every chain of his seal at once. A demon consumed by suppressed emotions loses all rationality until they vent their rage. Do you think he’ll listen to orders in that state?]
While rebuking the foolish Reinhold, the Demon God calmly explained.
[A demon is strongest when they’ve just fallen. If you absorb his power now, Chaos will grow stronger, and any damage will immediately be restored. Like when you fought those demon warriors, lure him into contact and absorb his strength bit by bit. The situation will turn in your favor then.]
‘That’s easier said than done!’
Despite his impatience, Reinhold, befitting the title of Shieldbearer, managed to block Lin’s relentless attacks.
Activating Chaos’s ability, he began absorbing Lin’s dark energy with every defense, just as the Demon God suggested.
Yet, he knew that one misstep would leave him defenseless.
“What did you do to Lin’s heart?!”
Snapping out of her shock over Lin’s fall, Lavyn grabbed Nydrian by the collar.
The archer, her face still stained with blood tears, stared at Lin in a daze, mumbling.
“This… this was the only way for Lin to find happiness…”@@novelbin@@
“Happiness?! Becoming a demon and losing control is happiness?!”
What do you think?
