Chapter 849: Chapter 849: Clearly Aware
Suddenly, Olivia Jenkins’s eyes sparkled, and a smile of relief appeared on her lips, “Jordan Bennett, I’m very grateful to you!”
On the other end of the phone, Jordan Bennett’s mouth twitched slightly, “Olivia Jenkins, don’t mention it! I have always taken what Abigail said to heart and made it a priority. I don’t want to see her disappointed, nor do I want this to affect her pregnancy. Rest assured, it will be taken care of soon.”
Olivia Jenkins’s almond eyes slightly drooped, and she pursed her lips, quietly saying, “Let me know how much it costs, please. I can afford it. I understand your intentions, and I’m truly thankful for the help you and your wife have provided. I will always remember it in my heart.”
“No cost is needed. Ethan Phantom is just repaying a favor. By the way, we need your cooperation. I’m bringing him to your group now.”
Olivia Jenkins nodded and felt a bit excited, “Okay, we will fully cooperate.”
While Olivia Jenkins was speaking with Jordan Bennett on the phone, Benjamin Johnson and Valerie Howard heard everything.
...
There was a turning point, and hope was in sight, which excited Valerie Howard as well.
Benjamin Johnson’s brow lightly furrowed, and he squinted his eyes, watching Olivia Jenkins with an intriguing gaze while pondering, “Olivia Jenkins, you better eat something before you get back to work. Otherwise, you won’t be able to handle it physically.”
Valerie Howard agreed, “Olivia, please eat something, there’s still time. You haven’t rested well these past few days, and you look haggard.”
The baby in her stomach was of utmost importance; she couldn’t let the baby go hungry. Obediently eating, Olivia Jenkins finally felt a sense of relief from the heavy weight on her heart.
…
With Ethan Phantom personally involved, by ten o’clock that evening, all systems that had been compromised by the virus were restored to normal, and the original data was repaired as well.
Ethan Phantom also set up a virus interception program for the entire Jenkins Group to ensure that the entire system could operate normally without being invaded or attacked.
Ethan Phantom even helped retrieve the stolen data and delivered a crippling blow to the culprits, turning all their hard work into nothingness.
“Everything is sorted out. Use it without worry; this kind of incident will never happen again.”
Having said that, Ethan Phantom was ready to leave. Olivia Jenkins immediately called out to him, wishing to invite him for a late-night snack.
Ethan Phantom indifferently curled his lips, tracing a perfect arc with his thin lips, and gazing meaningfully at Olivia Jenkins through his sunglasses, “I don’t have late-night snacks with women, besides, we aren’t close.”
With that, Ethan Phantom strode out, leaving the Jenkins Group IT department first.
Jordan Bennett’s gentle gaze fell on Olivia Jenkins as he explained, “His temperament is a bit odd. He has this air of keeping others at a distance. Don’t take it to heart. I’m going with him to talk for a bit. Another day, we’ll talk.”
The expression on Olivia Jenkins’s face softened, meeting Jordan Bennett’s warm gaze, “Thank you for the trouble. I won’t mind; I’ll treat you to a meal someday.”
Jordan Bennett simply nodded without saying anything further and left.
…
The night grew late, and Benjamin Johnson called Ethan Phantom.
But Ethan Phantom didn’t answer.
Before, Benjamin Johnson had already sought out Ethan Phantom, and he believed Jordan Bennett had too. Despite offering a lot of money and even a private jet to bring him to Serene City, Ethan Phantom had refused to take the job.
Not long after, Ethan Phantom changed his mind, and surprisingly it was Jordan Bennett who brought him to the Jenkins Group to deal with the crisis.
Even after seeing Ethan Phantom in person, Benjamin Johnson was unconvinced that Jordan Bennett could persuade Ethan Phantom to change his mind so quickly; it must have been Daniel Marshall’s request that brought him back.
The only person who could likely earn such respect from Ethan Phantom was probably Daniel Marshall.
What do you think?
