Chapter 850: Chapter 850 Ready to Go Abroad
After much hesitation, Benjamin Johnson still wanted to talk with Olivia Jenkins.
Olivia casually invited Benjamin Johnson to have hotpot.
Having resolved the issue with the virus system, Olivia’s complexion turned slightly ruddier, and she looked much more spirited. Benjamin’s deep eyes stared unblinkingly at Olivia.
Suddenly, Benjamin spoke softly, “Are you really not going to tell him the truth?”
Without a second thought, Olivia retorted, “There’s no need!” @@novelbin@@
Benjamin’s handsome brows furrowed slightly as his probing gaze still locked onto Olivia, “I know Ethan Phantom. I’ve looked for him, too; not just anyone can ask for his service.”
...
A sharp light flashed through Olivia’s almond-shaped eyes, “What are you trying to say?”
Even with money, even with overwhelming power and influence, not just anyone could get Ethan Phantom on board. Was Olivia aware of that?
Did Olivia not have the slightest doubt?
Benjamin paused momentarily, glancing unintentionally out the window before suddenly, he asked Olivia to look outside.
Olivia followed Benjamin’s gaze and, unconsciously, her almond-shaped eyes slowly narrowed.
Benjamin withdrew his intense gaze, observing Olivia, who showed no change, and remarked with an intriguing observation, “By the looks of it, he still loves you!”
Olivia’s eyes were full of sarcasm as she disdainfully said, “The LED billboards along the river across are all wishing me a merry Christmas Eve. Is this what he calls love? I don’t think so. Perhaps it’s just for show, for others to see, to silence the gossipers.”
Benjamin’s expression turned grave as he said solemnly, “Although I don’t like him, and I find him detestable, as a man, my instincts tell me he’s not heartless. Why don’t you give him another chance, talk things over again.”
Olivia cast her gaze downward slightly, her tone resolute, “You’re not aware of the matter between him and me; it’s not something that talking can resolve. Right now, I’m living alone, and I think it’s quite good. I’ve made my decision. Next month, I’m going abroad.”
Seeing how determined Olivia was, Benjamin no longer tried to persuade her and dropped the subject of Ethan Phantom.
If Olivia was going abroad, it didn’t matter where she went, Benjamin would definitely accompany her, ensuring she never felt helpless.
Untouchable and arrogantly proud, Benjamin felt that it was about time to teach Chief Daniel Marshall a harsh lesson.
It was what Chief Daniel Marshall deserved!
…
For two consecutive nights, Daniel Marshall waited in vain for a call from Olivia.
Not even a single message!
It seems this woman never really considered him as her husband. She really wanted a divorce?
Didn’t she see all the riverside billboards in Serene City?
She must have heard about the news, which had been trending number one for two days straight; the comments were exploding. Didn’t she know how many people envied her? Was she really so unappreciative?
This woman was truly heartless, more than Daniel had estimated.
Chief Daniel Marshall’s handsome face darkened, and his cold, sharp eyes, dark as ink, narrowed.
Chief Daniel Marshall’s sensual lips parted slightly, exhaling a faint ring of smoke.
And so, consumed by extreme disappointment and loneliness, he spent Christmas Eve, as well as Christmas Day.
It seemed, it really wasn’t worth being good to this woman; he shouldn’t have pitied her.
This woman really didn’t understand the gravity of the situation; she was heartless.
Auntie Jane had not dared disturb him since it was past midnight and the master still hadn’t eaten, staying in his study the whole time.
Auntie Jane dared not sleep either; she had to be on call at all times.
The master had forbidden her from calling the madam, and Auntie Jane dared not take the initiative.
…
The following morning, the HR director reported the progress of the annual meeting to Chief Daniel Marshall.
After listening to the report, Chief Daniel Marshall nodded slightly, “This year’s theme is quite good, just do as you’ve outlined.”
“Chief Daniel Marshall, will you attend the annual meeting?”
What do you think?
