Chapter 264 Discovery
"Here it is, enjoy your stay," Pardoth remarked with a scoff.
Michael was currently in front of a massive estate.
Despite the constant negotiations, he was unable to get a home inside the core realm, since according to Pardoth, only the very top lived there, and while Michael now had decent enough strength, he was not an eldritch being.
Therefore, the furthest he could go was the edge of the inner eldritch world, right before the entrance to the core eldritch realm.
Nonetheless, he wasn't that disappointed.
After all, he now had a massive estate, even bigger than the one he had back in Vivum.
Safe to say, he wasn't displeased, and since he was this close, he always had the possibility of trying to probe what was inside the core realm.
But besides that, it was time to train, especially his mana core.
Status. Michael called out inside his mind, but in an instant, was reminded of what had just happened not too long ago.
Even then, he now had great concerns, such as, was the system or Mikhail he talked to real?
Or was he the actual Mikhail, but had his memories sealed away?
It was impossible to tell, as he still felt a little shaken by everything, and even after a few hours, the memories had not stopped flowing in.
However, it wasn't a bad thing, as now, he had a very wide range of abilities to learn, skills to implement.
Especially Mikhail's past.
Time magic.
It seemed so surreal, and he already had a bit of an understanding of it due to what he had done inside the system.
The skill synthesis option worked wonders, and coupled with what he realized, Michael was able to do something quite interesting.
Walking inside the estate and entering the massive mansion, he was greeted by a couple of servants, a butler, maids, all of that.
However, as they were about to introduce themselves, Michael infused the air itself with mana, and quickly pulled it back into himself.
He kept repeating this process until eventually, the steps of the butler, as well as the breathing of all the maids present, halted.
Michael could still move, but the others could not.
Time stopping, it was great; however, he could only keep it up as long as he brought his mana back and forth constantly, which, quite frankly, was a bit of an annoyance to do—at least until he learned how to do it properly.
"Greetings, Michael. I am the head butler, Alfred," the butler introduced himself, performing a curt bow, which was followed by the remainder of the servants.
"I'll be staying here for a year, though I'm sure you've already heard that," Michael commented. "I won't be paying you if that's what you are wondering. I'm broke."
"Money? We have no use for such possessions," the head butler replied with a chuckle. "This estate was personally built by Lord Pardoth; thus, we do whatever he asks."@@novelbin@@
"And for a year at that? You sure are dedicated," Michael remarked.
"Indeed, sir. Please follow me. There is a lot to introduce," Alfred stated, and with that, Michael followed along.
He was led through each and every section of the mansion, and frankly, it was much larger than he was expecting.
It seemed like some kind of spatial magic was at play, limiting the outer appearance of the rooms, when in reality, each room was as big as a house itself.
Therefore, after walking for just a few minutes and seeing the kitchen, dining room, and of course, the master bedroom, Michael was finally brought to the most important part.
The training room, and to say it was massive was an understatement.
It looked like any ordinary room from the outside, but once Alfred opened the doors, Michael was able to see the interior of what appeared to be a completely whole different planet.
It was almost like he was standing on the moon, minus the messed-up gravity, since his body automatically adjusted to the earth's gravity.
"Here you are, sir. Please enjoy your stay and call us if you need anything," Alfred performed a bow. "I will bring dinner up to the door, and if you wish, pick it up. I wouldn't want to interrupt your training."
"That's perfect, thanks," Michael expressed, and closed the door behind him before taking a deep breath.
No, this is definitely a completely new world. Michael mused with furrowed brows.
The door behind him felt separated, and the space he was standing in currently felt much different.
Two completely different places separated by spatial magic; he really needed to learn it.
If anything, he might ask Chloe whenever he sees her in the future.
But that seemed unlikely; she might still think he had something to do with what had happened back in that city, which got nuked.
However, that was for the future him to figure out, as now, Michael had to get ready to train.
First thing on the agenda was to estimate his strength.
Therefore, Michael summoned a single Sword of Light and aimed it at what appeared to be a distant planet in the sky.
It was certainly far away, but if his strength was at least Tier 8, then it should reach... probably.
Without wasting a single moment, he chucked it straight at the planet, and to his surprise, it impacted in the blink of an eye.
That was when a massive explosion surged out, spreading debris out into the space as a bright light threatened to blind him.
However, he did not take his eyes away due to the amazement he felt.
His attack just now was instant, even faster than the speed of light.
Before he received this upgrade, Michael estimated the speed of his attacks to be around a quarter of the speed of light.
But now, it was unpredictable.
And to accurately gauge it, Michael needed something bigger.
Narrowing his eyes, he spotted a star extremely far away.
His mana did not even stretch out that far; therefore, he had to aim the Sword of Light perfectly.
And that was what he did. After just a few minutes of lining up the attack, Michael sent it out and began counting in his head.
1... 2-
It did not even take 2 full seconds for his attack to connect, and as it did, the star which he had hit, turned blue.
Oh fuck... Michael thought, before surrounding the entire planet in a massive dome of light and reinforcing it heavily.
In the very next moment, the star which he had hit exploded into a supernova, spreading its heat all across the entire space.
Funnily enough, it only took a couple of minutes to reach his dome of light.
And even more surprisingly, it did not manage to pierce through it, merely bouncing off of it and heading toward the other planets.
Now that's... a bit of a blunder. Michael grumbled.
He had accidentally destroyed a decent portion of whatever galaxy he was in, and it wouldn't be surprising if he also accidentally killed some people.
However, that's not what had concerned him at the moment, as all Michael wanted to do was test his strength.
And from what he gathered, it was simply unbelievable.
He was strong earlier, but now he was even stronger.
It wasn't by a huge amount, but it was certainly enough to notice.
So I abandoned the system... and now I can blow up stars from hundreds of light years away... He thought, dazed. Now this is a bit fucking crazy, I'd say.
Too bad he felt like he was going insane.
After all, aside from talking with Hu Rong, Kai, and Mimi, there were not many people he could talk to.
However, as he had those thoughts, another idea fell into his mind.
While he could not sense more than a few hundred light years out, what if he simply focused his mana beyond that?
Since he was stretching out from himself as the center, what if he made checkpoints across the way, dividing his mana, until eventually, he'd reach infinity?
Michael curiously tried it out, and unexpectedly, it worked.
He had increased his maximum distance by 2x, then 4x, then 8x, then 16x.
It kept going until eventually, he was bored.
But in the midst of his sensory range, a familiar planet appeared.
He could roughly feel the ground, the forests, even a few cities.
There were several planets on which he had felt a similar texture, but this one seemed to be the most accurate.
Therefore, Michael focused closer, enveloping the entire planet in his mana.
And as he did, he felt mountains, as well as cities in the skies.
Even a few portals, which surprisingly, led elsewhere.
But that was not what had surprised him the most.
That's... Astraea?
He felt her presence, and it was fairly strong; her progress was as fast as ever.
A Tier 7 already.
However, there was one presence, one which felt even more familiar than Astraea's.
And that was, Rebecca.
She had become Tier 10 somehow, and honestly, Michael felt oddly proud.
But just as those thoughts fell, he suddenly felt Astraea's life force lessen by an extremely low amount.
However, it was noticeable, especially to him.

The same happened to Rebecca, and as he focused even closer, he felt himself overlooking the entire world where Astraea and Rebecca were.
As he did, he suddenly noticed them looking up to the sky, making him immediately retract his vision, before taking a few steps back.
Astraea and Rebecca were sparring, meaning he had nothing to worry about.
But just in case...
He'd keep an eye out.
What do you think?
