Hoare left the tower.
The sun was about to set, and all the students were scattered across Hogwarts, as they would be leaving school the next day.
With his belongings in hand, Hoare walked leisurely, step by step, towards the Chamber of Secrets.
It was still that familiar door.
Hoare tossed a small glass vial up and down.

With a "pop," he uncorked the bottle.
Inside was a drop of bright red blood.
From Percy.
Hoare smeared the blood along the patterns on the door.
The giant door didn't open immediately as it had when he and Ron had smeared blood on it before.
Hoare was puzzled, his brow furrowed. Why was this happening?
This was completely unexpected.
