Chapter 1172: Treatment-1
Samuel bolted from the house and stood on the driveway, pacing back and forth. The unexpected call unsettled him for a moment, and he considered going out himself to see if everyone was okay, but then he calmed down.
He trusted his men because he knew they were professionals. There would be no need for them if he would have to rush to save everyone he cared about on his own. Over the phone, they did inform him that they were no longer in danger and were attempting to lose the tail.
There was a high chance that the Greens were able to find out he was behind everything, but he would have to wait and see. For now, he could only hope that no one was hurt during the attack. After thinking about it for a second, he pulled out his phone and dailed his uncle.
"I didn’t expect to receive a call from you so soon. Are you ready to come in?" The voice from the other side said it in an incredulous tone.
"Uncle, promise me that you have nothing to do with it. This was too low a blow even for you." Samuel said it in a serious tone. He first needed to confirm that this was not an inside attack. He wouldn’t put it past his cunning uncle to utilize something like this to scare him off the warpath that he was in!
" I don’t know what you are talking about." Suddenly Daniel went silent, probably receiving the news of the attack.
"I promise this has nothing to do with us. I don’t believe that you would think I would harm people close to you just to make you stop. I haven’t lost my mind yet." Daniel tone was laced with anger. He might not be a human in many people’s eyes because he would have to clean up everyone’s mess, which meant he would have to get involved in a lot of shady stuff all over the world, but it hurt a little to think that his own nephew would think he was capable of doing something like this.
"I am sorry. I am just too. "
"It’s fine. I will ask to send some escorts to make sure they make it here without further incident. We will talk about it later." Daniel hung up the phone. Samuel knew his words were unfair, but in the heat of the moment, he said something he regretted immediately.
He could only bitterly smile as he waited patiently for the people to arrive. After about an hour, he could finally see some cars on the horizon cruising through the jungle. He knew they must be inside and hurriedly went to the front to check up on them.
When the car came into his view, he noticed the clear beating it took during the chase. There was a massive bullet hole at the side door that appeared to have gone through, indicating that someone had been hit, which made his heart drop because the door was in the back seat!
The door flew open, and three figures rushed out, two of whom instantly rushed into his arms. He hugged them tightly, his mind registering that they were among the people that were hit. He looked at the third person, and she seemed fine too, which made him confused, but he pushed the thought aside and gave them a big hug first, trying to calm them down.
The people that were attacked were Kate and Bella. Dhia was also here, probably because she must be home during the accident and it was best for her to stick with the others rather than live in that house. Samuel only knew that there were a well-trained group of people trying to kidnap both Bella and Kate when his Ghost soldiers intervened, leading to a small skirmish.
Because they were outnumbered, they decided it was better to flee than fight and draw more attention from the neighbours. A team was already on its way to the scene to investigate the attack and clean up the area so that no local authorities could get involved.
"Are you alright? You are not hurt, are you?" He still looked at their bodies to see any signs of injuries. That’s when he spotted that there were some blood splatters on their clothes. He used his powers to scan their bodies and discovered no abnormalities, which calmed his racing heart.
"Miss Dhia?" He also checked her and saw she was unhurt.
"We are fine, but they are pretty shook by the attack. If you are looking for the injured person, then look inside the car; someone is tending to her, but I think we have to get her to a hospital. I tried, but they insisted on bringing us here first before doing anything else."
Unlike Kate and Bella, who were scared and even holding back their tears, Dhia appeared to be perfectly normal. Maybe she had seen some violence as she hailed from a pretty prestigious family, but he didn’t have time to think about it.
"Did someone really get shot?" He turned to his men, and they nodded solemnly. Samuel wanted to tell them that they should have gotten her treated first, but he knew these people took their oath of loyalty seriously. Telling them not to follow the obvious rule would imply that he was looking down on them; besides, they would not have made this call if the injury was life-threatening; or so he thought, but when he looked at the woman lying on the seat while others clutched her wound with any clean clothes they could find, he realized the situation was far more serious than he had anticipated.
"Keep holding her wound and drive to the front of the house. I will take it from there." He immediately went into critical mode.
The bullet appeared to have hit her thigh, but the amount of blood he could see indicated that no major arteries were hit or else she would be at death’s door by now. They did as he told them. Kate, Bella, and Dhia didn’t bother him, knowing the seriousness of the matter.
The female Ghost Soldier was one of the people that kept a regular lookout on both the girls. Even when they weren’t aware of her presence, she had been protecting them from the shadows for months at this point.

They were fleeing, and she was the one that made the call, shoving the girls in the backseat of the car. Maybe it was her instinct after being in the field for so long, but she thought she heard something and rushed in to cover everyone with her body. The thing that she heard was the high-caliber bullet that managed to drill it’s way through several inches of reinforced steel before lodging itself in her thigh.
If she hadn’t done that, maybe one of the girls would have been hit, which would be a devastating blow for them! Samuel carried the female soldier inside and proceeded to a different section of the house—a nondescript wall that appeared ordinary, but when tapped on, a panel appeared out of nowhere. He hurriedly entered the password and scanned his retina before the wall changed again, revealing a previously unknown section of the house!
What do you think?
