Chapter 1096: Aether is not an object
He placed his hand on the Angel's body and started reading the corpse's memories.
Time kept trickling away, but the time lord didn't move. He remained still, like a statue. However, with each passing second, his expressions shifted, as if he was seeing something he hadn't expected.
"Is he alright? He doesn't look good," one of the followers whispered to the other, noticing the time lord growing paler with each passing second.
"Shhh! Don't make any noise. It might disturb him," the leader of the group whispered back, worried their conversation might disturb their lord.
Even though he was also concerned about the strange reaction of the young time lord, he didn't think there was any danger to him.
"Impossible!" the young time lord exclaimed, as he abruptly opened his eyes. He stumbled back in disbelief, tripping over his own feet. It was as if he had seen a ghost.
Even his followers wondered why their young lord was so scared. Just what had he seen? Was there truly something that could frighten him to this extent?
"A-are you alright?" one of his followers asked, hesitant to even approach him. He could see that the young man wasn't in his right mind.
"I found it," the young man said, raising his head to look at his followers.
"You found what you were looking for?" the leader of the group asked, his eyes lighting up.
They were staying in this world because the young time lord needed to find something. If he had indeed found it, then it was only a matter of time before they took it and left.
At least that's what he thought until he saw the face of the young lord, his pupils still trembling in disbelief.
"Just what did you see?" he asked the young lord.
"I saw Aether... I saw complete annihilation. I saw a wrath that wanted to devour everything..." the young time lord mumbled, still unable to believe what he had seen.
"I-I think you might be a little overwhelmed after finding what you were looking for. You should rest and calm down. After that, we can go and retrieve that object," the leader of the group said, trying to calm the young man, who clearly needed it.
"It's not an object..." the young time lord said, looking towards the distant sky. He stood up, his mind made up.
He kept the corpse of the Angel in his spatial storage. He needed to show it to his father. These memories were something that needed to be shared. If they weren't, then the world would never know what was coming.
"We are leaving this world," he told his followers as he turned away from the core of that world.
"A-are we seriously going to leave without taking that obje-, I mean without taking what you were looking for?" the leader of the group asked. "If you leave like this, then what was the point of the centuries that you have spent here?"
"This information alone is worth it, especially since I saw Aether. Aether is here! It's right in this world! I will leave the rest to my father, as this is beyond our scope now. You would understand if you saw what I saw."
Even though he said that he was leaving because he had already achieved his core goal, his followers could feel that it wasn't the entire truth. They could see his hands trembling. He still hadn't managed to calm down entirely.
They were really curious about the things that he had seen. But they also knew that they were better off not knowing. If even the son of a time lord was horrified after seeing this, then what was going to happen to them? They didn't want to live through that nightmare.
The Time Lord didn't waste a single second. He started flying towards the exit portal that was being guarded by an Aetherian Beast.
Normally, it was hard for people to leave this world after they came here. However, the young man was one of the very few people who could get past the Aetherian Beasts.
The only reason he had been staying here was because he wanted to, not because he couldn't leave.
Now that he was in a hurry, he didn't waste a single second. He even burned his life span to increase the flow of time for him and his group alone, increasing their speed.
Although only one minute had passed in the outside world, for them, many hours had passed. A few strands of white hair started appearing on the head of the young man, but he didn't care.
After he reached the portal, he used even more of his reserved strength. He attacked the Aetherian Beast, which was resting in front of the exit portal.
The Aetherian Beast sensed their presence and opened its eyes as it stood up. However, at the same time, a barrage of attacks came straight for him.
Even the Aetherian Beast felt a threat from that attack. It dodged to the side and prepared to counterattack. Unfortunately, he couldn't see the attackers anywhere.
It took him a moment to realize what had happened, especially when he felt a fluctuation in the portal. Someone had already entered the portal, hiding within the attacks that he had dodged.
He was tricked, and it was too late to do anything about it. Although the Aetherian Beast was frustrated, it could only let out go. It wasn't as if it was the first time that someone had managed to escape through the portal. @@novelbin@@
The outsiders were always very scheming, never fighting it straight. Every time they used tricks, mostly waiting for him to leave the portal or when another Aetherian Beast was coming to take his place, creating a gap in protection.
This was the first time someone had tried to get past him in such a straightforward manner. It even left him a little impressed, as he wondered just who the person was.
What do you think?
