Karyk had left a shadow to keep an eye on the young time lord to make sure that he didn't lose him. However, even he hadn't expected the time lord to try to escape from this world in such haste.

By the time he received the information from his shadow and rushed towards the portal, it was already too late. He could see the traces of the time lord and his followers, which disappeared near the portal.

The Aetherian Beast saw Karyk and transformed into his humanoid form as well.

"Aren't you the new guy who joined us? I heard a lot about you," the Aetherian Beast said, revealing a pleasant surprise.

"I was quite frustrated that I wasn't able to see our new family member since I had to guard this place. It's good that I finally got to see you, young one." He approached Karyk and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I also wanted to thank you for helping in retrieving our ancestor's body."

"You call this guarding the portal?" Karyk was already in a bad mood, especially since he had lost a young time lord. He didn't mince his words, or even hide his displeasure as he moved the hand off his shoulder.

He had wanted to devour the ability of time manipulation. He had even planned to control the sword so he could finally kill him, never expecting him to escape so fast.

What frustrated him even more was that his shadow had heard the man saying that he knew the whereabouts of Aether! It was still said to be in this world, but the man who knew about it had already escaped.

Karyk was certain that the next time they met, it would be on a battlefield. The whereabouts of Aether were exposed. It was only a matter of time before the Ancient Lords came here, trying to forcefully invade this world.

He was never going to get an easy opportunity to devour the ability of time, as next time he might have to face the Lord of Time himself, instead of his son.

"W-what?" The Aetherian Beast was taken aback. He could see that Karyk was displeased, and even slightly disrespectful.

Normally, the youngest or the newest member of the Aetherian Family was supposed to respect the older ones, especially ones like him that were one of the most senior.

"Young one, I know that you are new. You don't understand how to behave, but I would advise you to control your temper. Otherwise, you might have to face something that you might not like."

For the Aetherians, their strength was largely related to their age. The older they were, the stronger they were. With that logic, Karyk was supposed to be the weakest. Despite that, he was so arrogant?

"We are grateful that you brought the body of our ancestor back. That's why, I will let this go once. But the next time you are disrespectful to any senior, then I won't let you go," he said, patting Karyk's cheeks as if he was slapping him lightly. "Next time, behave yourself. You are a child, don't try to act like a father."

Karyk was already in a bad mood. The Aetherian Guard had let the time lord escape, bringing a bigger calamity to this world. Even after all that, he didn't even know just what kind of trouble his carelessness had created for them.

If he had stopped the time lord for even a few seconds, it would've been enough for him to get here. Unfortunately, the man couldn't even do that. And now, he was trying to teach him manners?

He felt a strong urge to simply rip the Aetherian's arms off. However, he controlled himself, even as his eyes were brimming with heavy killing intent.

"Fine," he said, and walked past the guard. Even though the time lord had left, it truly hadn't been long.

He was already planning to leave this world himself, but now he had even more incentive. He had to find that thing brat before he could reach his father.

"Where are you going? As the youngest, you can't leave this world without permission from the other elders!"

Karyk approached the exit Portal, but the Aetherian appeared before him, blocking his path.

"You couldn't even stop the one that you were supposed to stop, and now you want to stop me?!" Karyk rubbed his forehead, his emotions all over the place.

He was already trying hard to not kill the Aetherian, but that Aetherian wasn't making it easy for him.

"Step aside. I don't have time to go around gathering permission." He took a deep breath, and tried to get past the Aetherian.

"Didn't you hear what I said?" This time, the Aetherian Guard touched Karyk's chest, and pushed him back.

"I am trying my best to not do something that both of us might regret. So please don't make it harder!" Karyk clenched his fist, his eyes turning darker.

He had barely managed to control the urge to devour everything in his path, but it wasn't easy for him.

"Hmm?" The Aetherian noticed Karyk's clenched fist and frowned. "Are you planning to hit me? Just because you helped us with our ancestor, you think you are some big shot? Didn't I already warn you once?"

The Aetherian kept pushing Karyk back again and again, as he stepped forward.

"You really don't know your place, do you?" he asked Karyk, again placing a hand on his chest. Once again he pushed Karyk, but to his surprise, Karyk wasn't moved even an inch this time.

Karyk felt like a mountain that remained unmoving. Instead, the Aetherian felt as if his instincts were warning him. He didn't understand why he was feeling that way in front of a youngster.

"You dare resist a senior?" He ignored his instincts, thinking that he was simply overwhelmed because a junior was being disrespectful.

He gathered even more strength, planning to send Karyk flying this time. Since the youngster didn't understand the language of kindness, he wanted to give a small punishment.

He clenched his fist, and punched Karyk. However, this time, Karyk also stopped holding back.

He caught the Aetherian's fist, and kicked his chest, sending him flying back inside, ripping his arm apart.

"You are right. People don't understand the language of kindness," Karyk said, his voice feeling a lot colder than usual. "In that case, there is no need to be kind. Let's have a feast..."

His eyes had turned pitch black, as his instincts took over.
