The soft, elegant music played in the restaurant. Im Haewon, looking a bit nervous, was guided to a table by a staff member.

His meeting partner wasn't in sight. Im Haewon simply shrugged. The one who had invited him here was the head of the overseas business department. Unlike Im Haewon, who had left work immediately, the department head was probably busy dealing with some tasks and would be late.

"But why did the department head call me separately?"

Im Haewon tilted his head in confusion. It had been just before he was about to leave for the day. Then suddenly, the internal phone rang, and to his surprise, it was the department head, a distant superior.

The department head had said there was an important matter and suggested they meet at the G Hotel restaurant. Im Haewon had wondered what was so important that it needed to be discussed there, but he quietly replied that he understood.

"Excuse me."

Im Haewon, lost in thought, was startled when a sudden voice called out. The server, holding a silver water pitcher and smiling, was standing there.

"Oh, yes."

Thinking that it wasn’t directed at him, Im Haewon was still watching the water being poured into his glass when he noticed the chair across from him being pulled back, and a strange man sitting down. The man was in his mid-thirties, with a face that looked somewhat arrogant, irritable, and stubborn—a face Im Haewon had seen from a distance. He recognized him as Kang Jin-tae, the eldest son of the Taesung Group, the Vice President.
