Chapter 95
No matter how the world turned, Sunwoo’s daily life flowed much the same. He woke up in the morning, swept in front of the bookstore for some exercise, had a meal with the lady, and then went for a walk around the neighborhood.
Walking between the low-rise buildings and residential areas, he sat on the swing of a quiet playground, lost in thought since it was winter, then stopped by a café to grab some warm tea and snacks before heading to the bookstore for work.
Back at the bookstore, he opened the door, turned on the electric heater, and began reading a book he hadn’t finished the day before when Jenny arrived, energetically greeting him.
"The world must be in its final days."
Jenny entered today with a very displeased expression. Sunwoo looked up with a "Hmm?"
"Why? Something happened?"
"Don’t you care about stuff like this? Last night… You won’t believe it. Someone tried to kidnap a kid who was going to meet my father."
"Kidnap? Where?"
Sunwoo’s eyes widened in surprise, wondering what kind of terrible event that could be. "In the middle of Seoul. Right in front of a hotel," Jenny said, dramatically leaning in close, whispering as if she were sharing a life-or-death secret.@@novelbin@@
"You know Taesung Group, right? It was their eldest son who did it."
- Sunwoo, did you see the message?
- He won’t. Besides, he won’t have time to deal with it now, so don’t worry.
- Sunwoo, didn’t you see the news? It’s been causing quite a stir.
- The general meeting is coming up, and with all these incidents, Taesung is in chaos. There’s also the political donation issue and the illegal land acquisition.
- Did I do anything? It was all thanks to Executive Kang.
- Executive Kang had been preparing for this for a while. But then, when Sunwoo’s situation happened, he must’ve gotten really angry. It’s turning the house upside down. You know how Executive Kang is, right? Anyway, just wait, Sunwoo. It will be resolved.
What do you think?
