How to Have a Baby Secretly

Kang Jinwook calmly read through the messages on his phone. The sender was Kim Soonja, who had been taking care of Sunwoo.

What had started as a single message a day had gradually increased to multiple messages. At first, they were only about Sunwoo’s health, but one day, pictures had been attached, and now, along with the pictures, Kim Soonja would also write brief updates about Sunwoo’s daily routine.

After reading the last message, Kang Jinwook looked up. Despite it being the end of February, the garden still looked barren, creating a desolate atmosphere.

As Kang Jinwook absently turned his head, his gaze landed on his phone screen again, and he froze. A name he hadn't expected to see appeared as the sender.

Without hesitation, Kang Jinwook grabbed the phone and immediately answered the call.

• Hello?

It was the familiar voice he had half-expected to hear. Kang Jinwook was silent, listening intently.

• Uh... is this Kang Jinwook’s phone? Or did the number change?

When Kang Jinwook didn’t respond, the other party seemed flustered, asking again. It wasn’t a mistake.

“Sunwoo.”

• Well, yeah. I haven’t been in touch for a while. And I kind of disappeared out of nowhere.

Sunwoo let out a slightly awkward laugh, which drifted into Kang Jinwook’s ears. Then, Sunwoo sighed deeply, falling into silence.

• It’s fine. Just a bit swollen, numb, and tired.

• Well, since the pregnancy is full-term, my blood circulation isn’t as smooth. My hands and feet get swollen in the mornings and evenings.

• But more than that, can we meet?
