I Become Master of Danger Zones as Incubus With Mastery In Genetic

Chapter 634 54

Ardent swiped his hands despite there not being any dirt on it. Then again after terrifying several group of people from Cruom City, and killing two entire groups, he was slightly tired.

Oh, he can easily slaughter the one he did not kill even in his tired state, but sleeping for the night could leave the village vulnerable. Should they want to attack during such time, he would be pressed to defend the village.

That is, if he did not learn an important Spell. Shadow Needle is a simple spell, but he can turned it into time bomb.

Ardent simply cast it on their hearts before making the needle struck should certain condition was fulfilled. One of which was harming those imbued with Shadow Mantle, a Spell he connected to the Shadow Needle, along with Shadow Thread.

All of them are just Grade 1 Spells, with the exception of Shadow Mantle, but with a good modification by him, Shadow Needle possess the same killing power as a Grade 2 Spell.@@novelbin@@

This is an insurance so they will not try to stab him in the back. Of course, they can still run away, but Ardent can easily find them with the Shadow Needle. Whether they knew it or not depend on whether the strongest Mage after him tell others or not.

Of course, Ardent also made the Shadow Needle will struck if any Mages try to tamper with it. Any Mages except for him that is.

With his contingencies for betrayal completed, Ardent decided it was time for him to sleep and rest for the day.

"It seem the powerful Mage had fallen asleep." a 3rd Circle Mage told the rest. Those who was not finished by the teen Mage shared a look of dismay.

They, who were part of Cruom City's upper class were forced to guard a village. Such order was beneath them. But it was until the teen sleep that they dare show sign of rebelling.

"Yeah, let's get away from here!" a 1st Rank Aura User whispered harshly.

"Run away? We should get the village to pay!" one of the 3rd Circle Mage exclaimed. Merith recognized the man as a young and ambitious Mage, who was part of a powerful Mage family. His colleague, a fellow 4th Circle Mage was the elder of the family, and hold the most power.

'So, the youngster want to gain influence and become the leader of the family. If he get enough supporter, he might achieve that.' however, the young man possess the same weakness as many talents. They believe they are the best and invincible.

Sure, someone way younger than them already become a 5th Circle Mage, but he, arrogantly, believed it to be luck or something like that. The young man believed killing a teen in his sleep will be easy. Find more to read at My Virtual Library Empire

The young man even dared saying he was lying about the Spell in their heart. Oh, how he wish he was lying. He can feel it, not piercing his heart, but can easily do so if the caster desire.

'He want to keep us in check. To protect the villagers and himself.' Merith correctly deduced the reason of the Spell. However, even if he found it, he did not dare to touch it, believing doing so will activate a safe guard.

He warned the other 3rd Circle Mages. Those older believed him. As for the younger, they scoffed, decided to not trust a 4th Circle Mages.

'At least those who plan on dying are not related to me.' It's the sole consolation Merith could find. Death of such talented Mages, no matter how foolish and ignorant is still a heavy loss for the City.

Merith observed, using a Spell to see further as one of the Mages confronted one of the village's guard. The guard, taken by surprise, should die. However, reality worked differently than what the foolish ones believed.

The would-be-attacker clutched his chest, his face paling as the man gasped for air. He then went limp, his body strewn on the ground.

The shocked Mages look at the body, barely comprehending what just happened. However, they are still Mages, and talented enough to become 3rd Circle Mages with the resources of Cruom City.

Immediately, one of them check his chest, trying to remove the Spell. Seconds latter, the man also fell to the ground, dying instantly the moment he tried to tamper with the Spell.

"W-wha-" one of the survivors let out, all of them trembling at the corpse of the two people. Yet, while they were shaking like leaves, the guards restrained them, pushing them on the ground and tying their hands.

Seeing them caught, Merith looked away, stopping his observation for now. He do wonder if it will make thing worse for others.

"The spell worked perfectly." that was one of Ardent's greatest fear. Simple Spells can be easily casted. However, one complex like the network of Shadow Needle, Shadow Mantle, and Shadow Thread was not.

He was worried if Shadow Needle would not be activated for some reason, or that it will not be fatal enough, allowing some of the backstabbers to do some damage before dying.

It turns out, he was worried for nothing. The spell worked perfectly fine, and no one, well, no one he wanted to kill that is, did not die.

Ardent then observed the others. Those who were caught were released. However, it was not out of kindness. They would spread the story, getting others to fear him, and will not dare to repeat the attempt.

It's the main reason he did not warn his subordinates/slaves. It will be an excellent warning, telling them he can easily kill them whenever he wanted to.

'Let's see if any of you will do something stupid again.'

As he planned, no one try to attack the villagers again. Escaping on the other hand... They realized they can run away and not be caught. As for the Shadow Needle, as long as they get gar enough, the Spells will not be activated, or so they hope.

Unfortunately for the escapee, Ardent designed the Shadow Needle to activate once they get far from him. Of course, he did prepared in the occasion he dive into the dungeon or flew away to inspect the area.

However, he can easily delay the effect of him being away, so he was not worried about that. However, those trying to escape learned the other part of the design the hard way, dying or close to it from the Shadow Needle.
