Merith wondered if his hearing had gone bad.

'He want to build a kingdom in the region. Is he mad?!' trying to usurp the 8 Main City. Such thing is impossible and only the most insane man would think to even attempt it.

His thought seemingly heard by the teen, who glared at him. Immediately, Merith realized something important.

'H-he is a 5th Circle Mage. The only one in the entire region. He can easily defeat any 4th Circle Mages without even trying. Plus, there is the dungeon. He can quickly build a group of elites, capable of standing against the forces of the Main City.'

To Merith shock, the person trying to build a nation look less like an insane fool, and more like a visionary.

'He can succeed. As long as he did not screw you greatly, he can do it.' Merith looked at the teen once more. He did not know why, but he can easily imagine a crown on the boy's head, the boy looking at him from a throne of gold.

Merith blinked the weird vision away.

'Why did I think of such future?' he could not help but wonder.

"Are you insane?" a future corpse asked, his tone not hiding his incredulity.

The teen let the side of his lip to tweak up, "Highly likely." his Mana washed over them, with the most of it being pressed on the corpse-in-the-making.

"But, I'm not as insane as those who attack the village. In fact, soon, I will fly to Cruom City and make them an offer. Submit, or perish." his gaze tell Merith the teen is not joking. That he will do it.

The corpse-in-training fainted, knocked out from the Mana unleashed by the teen.

"Now I tell you my plan, I will now make you an offer," ignoring the person he knocked out, the teen continued,

"Either you join me, bowing down and accepting to become my subordinates and subject, or leave after you help turn the village into a city worthy of the title capital of the new Kingdom."

'The offer... it seem too good." Merith did not think anyone would want to join the new kingdom. Sure, the future King would be a 5th Circle Mage.

Through his journey when he was young, he learned a single 5th Circle and its equivalent is a necessity in building a new independant faction.

However, that is the most important requirement, but not the sole one. Powerful supporters, loyal subjects and those ready to serve him and become his people is also an important part.

Without any of those, his attempt to build a new kingdom will meet with failure.

However, he underestimated the future King.

"Of course, the village is lacking in strong combatants and capable personal in bureaucracy and governance. I will need capable personal, who ready to climb into important position in the new Kingdom."

At that moment, Merith realized that the future King did not made the offer without reason, he made the offer to start a recruiting pitch.

Merith would insult and scold them for changing side except he was also tempted. As a 4th Circle Mage, the only one of the new Kingdom, for now, he can hope for a high position, right? Same with Ternor, really.

After all, he will probably the only 4th Circle Mage of the new Kingdom before the new King force Cruom City to submit. And Ternor will be the only 3rd Rank Aura Expert.

He saw as Earth Mage and Plant Mage were sent to the construction group, while Wind Mage assisted in patrolling.

In the end, all that is left were him and Ternor. The King likely left the best for last.

As they were put under his scrutiny, Merith was both excited and afraid. Both feeling he did not expect to emerge when he will essentially being sent to another job.

Once the King stopped looking at him, he told him his new assignment. Merith wondered if cleaning his ears would be rude or will he get some leeway. Deciding to not risk it, Merith bowed, obeying his King's command.
