Chapter 662 82
"My Lord. Are we sure about this? Letting a boy, if you are correct in him not disguising his true age, taking over the region?" one of the Council Members asked.
City Lord Krell understand what the man was not saying, his tone delivering the hidden message.
Ferbul Region had maintained its status as an independent Region by being a backwater region, and having a number of forces that can make any conquest more than its worth.
However, the emergence of a new power could mean the change in status quo. As a Region depending on it, such changes could either lead to the flourishing of the Region, or its ruin.
"Council Member Cras," City Lord Krell called out to the other man, "If his age is correct, and that he is a child, it's even more imperative we support him."
This earned him weird look from other Council Members. City Lord Krell sighed, while glad he is the leader or Cumbra City might see its ruin.
"Think about it. A child, teen, in his fourteenth birthday, managed to reach the 5th Circle in that age. What Circle he can probably achieve in his prime? No, what Circle he can achieve in even 5 years?"
At his words, the eyes of the Council Members widened into almost comical level. City Lord Krell glad they see where he is coming from.
Being a 5th Circle Mage is good enough to rule over the entire Region, which were ruled by Main Cities governed by the political savvy and 4th Circle Mages and equivalent.
However, what if the 5th Circle Mage is still not in his prime, still undergoing a growth, one that could meteorically rise because of a dungeon.@@novelbin@@
Truly, City Lord Krell see a potential for the Ferbul Region to flourish, turning into a powerful force in the region. And since they did not have any large mineral or metal veins, any other important resource hubs, and being far away from the contested location of the Mediterranean Basin, the superpowers will not target them with no good reason.
Heck, even the dungeon, the commodity that can get the superpowers to look at their direction would not be that tempting. Not when the superpowers have their own dungeons, plus the Mediterranean Dungeon, which remained a contested area, and somewhat neutral one, designed by the 5 superpowers.
"In that case, we will accept the rule of the King. But, we will probably need to negotiate the ruling and other important subject." Council Member Lufa exclaimed. Others nodded.
City Lord Krell could see where this is going. The Council Members probably wish to remain in their current position, and would levy everything they have to achieve that.
Frankly, City Lord Krell doubt the King would care for anything, so he will accept the gifts just to be polite. However, support and help to push the growth of his village would probably earn great favor out of the future King.
Unfortunately, with Ligos City territory being on the way, City Lord Krell could not hope to do that.
'But, giving him some Magic tools plus Mages to help with the growth of the future capital would still earn me his favor.' City Lord Krell thought, and decided to not mention it to his Council Members. If they're smart enough, they would think of such thing.
Though he wondered if the future King like the current arrangement or should he let the King stay with him, at least until a proper lodging have been made.

Ardent looked at the arranged guard house. Using his 'prestige' (re:threatening), he ordered the guards to arrange the guard house into a better living space.
Fortunately for the guards, he is not picky. Just add some beds, along with couches and it is enough for the 5th Circle Mage. Unfortunately for the guards, being ordered by a 5th Circle Mage, one that send the City Lord and two Council Members into groveling like a child who did wrong put a strain on them.
They still trembled at the memory, and did their best to not earn the ire of the powerful Mage.
"Your Majesty." one of them called out to him, being as respectful as he can be, "What should we do now?"

Ardent give it a long thought. He had get them get his food, changed the guard house into proper lodging. What else can he have them do?
His eyes light up as he looked at the one who asked the question, "I want you to go to my previous lodging and told him what happened. Or at least a proper excuse. Just don't make me look like a criminal."
The guard looked like he had been give a lifeline before he sprinted out of the guard house, leaving the rest dumbstruck with a look of envy on their faces.
As for Ardent, he decided to laid back while training his Magic. He want to see if he can add a other attribute into his Mana Core, just to add more trump cards into his arsenal. After all, he will be facing a powerful Magic Beast in the future. Having more Spells, especially powerful one would be useful.
'Though, what kind of Magic Beast are there?' Ardent wondered. Maybe it's a dragon, though unlikely. It being wyvern or drake make more sense, or maybe it something else. Like a very powerful wolf or bear. Less awesome than a dragon or its closest kin but not much he can do about it.
'In the end, it doesn't even matter. I still need to defeat the Beast, so if it's weak, at least it make things easy.'
As Ardent pondered what will happen in the future, he stood up. His senses told him the presence of several powerful Mages, all at the 4th Circle.
"We have visitors." he said. The guards shared a look before one of them head straight to the door, opening it even before the guests could knock.
Ardent turned to see several older men and women, all of them wearing intricate robe similar to his three previous visitors.
What do you think?
