Chapter 665 85
In the Realm of Lust, inside a large mansion, second only in size to the Palace of Debauchery, the commanders of Betrum Invasion looked satisfied at the reports they received.
"The skirmishes went well." Asren commented. While all 10 skirmish groups were killed to the last monsters, it had done their jobs. To both raise and lower caution to the newest monsters at the same time.
In fact, between the four, there were suggestion of creating D-rank Hybrids to be the one in the skirmish groups. However, the idea was rejected as they want the Betrum Nation to panic and send all their forces to Zell City.
While it may seem counterproductive to their plan to invade and destroy Betrum Nation, it actually the best plan. With the forces in their command, destroying the fighting force of Betrum Nation, plus the militias they can put out, can be done in a single go.
With the military plus adventurers gone, the rest of the Nation would be left defenseless, easy for picking. And that's where the newly formed bandit groups will do. Attack the defenseless settlements and cities and plundering all they can. Including people. Especially people.
Of course, they need the Betrum Nation to believe they stand a chance, so, they did not call for aid from Zessazi and her Dominion, or using the B or A-rank Hybrids. Though, they will field them during the larger attacks, to give the impression of them being the leaders of the Swarm.
(The name is catchy enough that the four agreed on using them to describe their current forces, plus Zessazi's forces.)

"How many more should we send?" Asren asked, looking at the two with higher position above himself.
"Set the limit to 10 000 C-rank Hybrids and 100 B-rank Hybrids. We don't want to appear too strong or too weak. Just enough to be a threat, one that can be handled by the Nation." Aridus replied.
Asren nodded. With the question answered, the meeting continued, putting out ideas and choosing whether to include or reject them. By the end of the meeting, the 4 had come up with the full plan; from the skirmishes to the final assault. One that will include a small portion of Zessazi's forces.

Inside Zell City, a similar meeting took place. Though, with more addition than before. City Lord Kayum bow slightly to the men in front of him, the general following the City Lord. For the Head of Betrum Nation had arrive in Zell City, along with the General of Betrum Grand Army, and other generals.
"Lord Viran." City Lord Kayum said, treating the newcomer with great respect.
"City Lord Kayum, you may rise." The Head said in almost dispassionate way. However, those who know the man knew it was his way of being, somewhat, friendly.
"Now, report to me what is happening in Zell Forest." The Head then ordered, not intending on prolonging the necessary talk, especially one that can lead to the crippling of Betrum Nation's economy.
"New monsters had emerged from Zell Forest. Humanoid Bug Monsters. We decided to call Human Bug to make it easier to label them.
The new monsters like a new type of monsters, one that either newly formed by the leyline or one's that had remained hidden at the depth of the forest, growing stronger and having more intelligent monsters among its rank before deciding to start a stampede.
The swarms of Human Bug had attacked the forts two weeks before, and had not make any big movements. Only launching small skirmishes and attacking supply trains. As for the numbers, the estimate is 50 000 to 100 000.
Other than that, we don't know more. The only other thing we know is that there is a potential that the average members of the Swarms are C-rank."
The mention of the average members being C-rank make the faces of other higher-ups to sour.
"The new monsters is a threat to our Betrum Nation. We should deal with them as quickly as possible." The General of Betrum Grand Army exclaimed.
"The average monsters are stronger than our average soldiers. Sending them to attack them is equivalent to handing them free food." General of Zell City Defense Army retorted to his superior.
The General of Betrum Grand Army looked like he was about to lash to his subordinate, when the Head raised his hand, stopping a potential shoutout.
"He is correct." Lord Viran said, "attacking the forts is foolish, and make us lose a lot of soldiers with little to gain. Instead, we will gather our forces. It seem the decision to gather all the armies is the right one."
City Lord Kayum looked glad. It seem his decision to request as much aid had helped Betrum Nation and Zell City, the latter more than former.
"Wouldn't any of our neighbors take advantage of the lack of Army in their borders?" General of Zell City Defense Army asked.
"They will not." The Head swiftly answered, "We have make sure to tell them the reason for the lack of soldiers is an incursion of monsters from Zell Forest. We also make sure to tell the Holy Nation and Adventure Guild so our neighbors won't be attempting anything in fear of retaliation."
City Lord Kayum let out a sigh of relief. While the Holy Nation will not intervene between wars of two nations, they will ensure a nation that suffer a … difficulty that can threaten its existence would not be assailed from the back while they are dealing with such threat.
The Adventure Guild share the same idea, with them being more prominent and intertwined with the different, weaker nations of the world. If the Adventure Guild ordered it, their guilds in chosen Nation would move away to another one, possibly crippling the nation by half of their potential military forces, at least in the upper rank.
