Chapter 666 86
"All of them are ready." One of his subordinates exclaimed. Several others followed, as he split his group of elites to inspect different squads.
After all, the armies need to be prepared for their death, as their destruction would play an important role in Betrum Invasion.

Several round of horns sounded from the east wall. Immediately, the soldiers in Zell City and outside prepare for combat.
"There are many horns, and from the same direction. How many of those Human Bugs are attacking this time?" one of the generals asked.
"I'm not sure, but to be safe, we will prepare every single one of our soldiers, plus elite adventurers to take down the stronger monsters. In fact, Lady Calle, I would like to request you to enter the battlefield as well, in case of A-rank monster joining the field." The General of Betrum Grand Army asked the leader of Betrum Adventure Guild.
Calle nodded, knowing she will likely be needed in case of A-rank monsters taking part as well.
With that, the entire forces in Zell City were prepared to be mobilize, depending on the number of monsters.

At the east wall, the soldiers could feel their morale dropping at the incoming tide of monsters, far greater than any previous skirmish.
"How many are there?" one asked.
"I think, this like an entire Army of them. Maybe 10 000 of them." Another one make a guest, never knowing how accurate said guess really is.
"No matter the number, we need to fight and repel them. If possible, slaughter all of them to the last." The leader of the eastern wall said, his powerful figure helped steady the soldiers.
"Order the militia to come as well. They will need to gain some experience in battle, but make sure they will only play a supporting role." Having the militia throw spears, fire arrows and sling rocks is acceptable, as it will train their accuracy and allow them to get use to combat when the full-scale attack begin.
The leader could see this is not even a quarter of the size of the entire swarm, instead, maybe a tenth or so.
The messenger next to him quickly ran, relaying the order as the eastern wall leader wondered what move his superiors will make.

"Oh, they treating this seriously." From the forts, Aridus and Maroon watched the spectacle from the distance. As for whether they will be spotted, they have no reason to worry about that.
After all, the full attention of Betrum Nation entire forces are on the rouge swarm of 10 000 Hybrid Bugs. They did not have the time to worry about those that remained in the forts.
Even if they did look at the forts for some reason, the Illusory Amulets the two were wearing would make others see them as C-rank Hybrid Bugs.
"Looks like they mobilize half the army outside." After multiple skirmishes and spies, the two learned the number of soldiers of Betrum Nation.
The Main Army, one comprised of multiple armies except for Zell City Defense Army, have about 100 000 strong, with most of the soldiers being upper-tier D-rank. Along with the Main Army are groups of mercenaries, and adventurers recruited for the cause.
It's harder to get their true numbers but to their estimate, the entire number of mercenaries and adventurers with the Main Army should be around 50 000 mercenaries, with the average at D-rank, with 5 000 adventurers, most of them at C-rank.
As for those inside the City, the main worries would be the Zell City Defense Army, and Adventure Guild. Sure, the majority of the defenders are militia but those are just trained civilians, some with little to no combat experience.
Only by using the terrains like the walls of the City or the streets and buildings could they hope to do some damage without sacrificing a large number of them.
For Zell City Defense Army, their numbers around 50 000, as Betrum Nation paid extra attention to Forest of Bugs due to it being a great threat should a stampede happen. Like right now.
As for Adventure Guild, it's main facility in Betrum Nation is located inside Zell City, as Forest of Bug offered plenty of resources that cannot be found anywhere else in the entire Continent. The number of Adventurers almost doubled the ones with the Main Army, about 8 000 to 9 000, yet half of those are at D-rank. Your next chapter is on My Virtual Library Empire
Overall, the main threat would be the 150 000 soldiers of Betrum Nation, 50 000 mercenaries, 14 000 or so adventurers, and the 500 000 militia.
A number that could sufficiently destroy 100 000 C-rank army, with great cost on their side. Of course, that would be what Betrum Nation believe, not knowing the true extant of the swarm entire forces.
"Let this Suicide Swarm cover the true strength of our true forces. Let them believe they actually stand a chance, when in reality, they do not."

At the eastern wall, the military council gathered, overlooking the incoming swarm.
"General!" the leader of eastern wall greeted the man, who only offer the slightest of glance.
The leader was not offended, as he understood the danger. In fact, he understood the danger better than most.
"How many are there?" the General asked.
"About 10 000 regular warriors. Then, we have about 50 or more B-rank, but the estimate is around 100, while the main leader is an A-rank, located at the center back of the swarm." The leader reported the detail, one his observers and scouts delivered before the arrival of the General.
The General nodded before looking at the General of Zell City Defense Army.
"How many of your soldiers you can send in thus section in one hour time?" he asked the other man.
"About 10 000. And they will only be send behind the trenches and palisade." The General of Main Army nodded in understanding. Sending a group of 10 000 D-rank to fight against 10 000 C-rank is the equivalent of suicide for the former.
What do you think?
