Chapter 313 New Mission
[Chapter 312 Comments.]
[Keltic_Spirit: Hmmm... What to comment? I know! Beach scene! Have a beach party after exams!]
[Random Passing Comment.]
[MoonThing01 (310): Yay! Finally caught up. Keep up the good work, Mr. Author. I'll keep reading this novel to the very end.]
…
"Well…" Theo looked at the comments while saying, "You just jinx it. I haven't told anyone about the mission details. I was thinking about using it to my advantage so that I could change it in a way that the students could handle it.
"But with you saying the beach episode, the author might actually do that." Theo sighed before continuing, "Anyway, welcome to the club."
"Teacher!" Suddenly, Lancelot came to him with a serious expression.
"Yeah?" Theo asked as they were still on the way to the teleportation gate.
"Are we really going to fight a strong alien?"
"Yeah. I didn't lie."
"No. I just want to confirm one thing. Is this alien… looking weird?"
"What do you mean?" Theo frowned.
"Aurora and the twins told us that the Crimson Witch was weird because her condition was never seen before. I thought that you would target the same alien."
"It's not the time yet." Theo shook his head. "You kids should get stronger first. You will only feel unnecessarily burdened once you know about it."
"Is that so?" Lancelot tilted his head in confusion.
"Yeah." Theo waved his hand, telling him to go back.
Lancelot sighed and returned to his own compartment. The portal for the spirit world was quite far, so they had no choice but to go there by train.
Once Theo was left alone, he couldn't help but wonder, "Is the author writing the part of my wife yet? But considering this is the chapter right after I said my conclusion… it seems he hasn't or he doesn't."
Theo looked down, contemplating. If there was truly no information about his wife, the situation might become a bit harder. After all, he didn't know if the enemies would attack him again or not. And what kind of force would they bring this time?
Unfortunately for Theo, there would be none in this chapter.
It took them hours to finally reach the teleportation gate. As usual, all the formalities had been taken care of by the other side.
All that was left was for them to cross the teleportation gate.
As soon as they reached the spirit world, they finally understood why the spirits had high sensitivity to essence.
"Oh wow." Lancelot looked around. "The essence here is simply so dense that even with some sensitivity, you can see them flickering. The twins have been exposed to this amount of essence on a daily basis."
"This is amazing." Serena nodded in agreement.
"Hahaha. I'm glad that you like our world." An aged voice echoed in their ears.
The students hurriedly turned around and saw a middle-aged man coming. However, unlike all the middle-aged men they had seen in all worlds, this one was half as tall as a normal human. In addition, on his head was a pair of goat horns, but other than those two, he looked like a normal human.
Still, the most shocking thing would be that the essence around him was so dense that it became more visible for people to see.
"We are pleased to have you with us, Mr. Theo and his students. I'll be your guide for today. My name is Baltazar."
Theo nodded while extending his hand. "Hello. We'll be in your care."
"Unfortunately, I can't provide any explanation for your mission. If you wish to know more information, you need to wait until you see the matriarch," said Baltazar.
"We understand. If possible, do you mind if we skip the pleasantries? It'll be better to head to our destination right away."
"I understand. Please follow me." Baltazar pointed his hand toward the exit.
"If I'm not wrong, there should be a lot of cultivators trying to use this world as a cultivation place, right? Li Wei once told me that having a plentiful amount of essence in the air would increase his cultivation speed." Serena asked.
"True." Lancelot agreed. "In fact, even people like us can get stronger by staying here alone."
"Hahaha. I wouldn't suggest that." Baltazar smiled wryly. "This is pure essence. It is pretty much different from what you currently have."
"Different?" Serena tilted her head in confusion.
"Yes. In the cultivation world, the essence is coming from the Heavenly Dao. You can say that the essence has been dyed in the Heavenly Dao color. Meanwhile, our world doesn't have such things. This essence is in its purest form, as it is coming from outer space directly."
"Outer space?" Jayden frowned.
"Yes. Getting some of this world's essence won't probably harm your body, but if you absorb a lot of them, it'll gradually change your body. The mutation is probably something you don't like."
"That dangerous? Then again, this world's enemy is the aliens… I guess you get something from the cosmic, and the alien is included." Lancelot gasped.
"Indeed. It is both our misfortune and fortune. Unfortunately, we don't have any choice but to live with it or the aliens will destroy us," said Baltazar as they exited the building. There was a giant bird waiting outside.
The giant bird's size was three times Theo's clown. It had a wingspan of 30 meters. This blue bird had an insane amount of essence stored in it.
Once the bird noticed Baltazar, the bird lowered its head as if asking Baltazar to pet her. Your next read awaits at My Virtual Library Empire
"Haha, Lily. Good girl. These are our guests. Carry us back, will you?"
The bird chirped and lowered its body for them to hop on.
Theo couldn't help but furrow his eyebrows as if noticing something. Meanwhile, the students focused on climbing the bird.
"Is there something wrong, Mr. Theo?" Baltazar asked.
Theo shook his head helplessly. "Never mind."
Both of them hopped onto the bird, but Theo's expression remained serious as if he felt something was off.
What do you think?
