Chapter 782: 782: Rescue
Chapter 782: Chapter 782: Rescue
These two angels, who knows who captured them and placed them inside this stone tower, experienced untold torture and torment within it. Over a hundred years ago, they firmly believed that the gods would come to save them. However, a century passed, and these two angels experienced unending suffering, both physically and emotionally.
Eventually, one of the angels finally couldn’t bear the torment any longer. With resentment towards the gods in its heart, it gave up its angel status and became a fallen angel.
The instant its wings turned pitch black, its silver armor also turned black, and countless Abyssal energies emerged from the void. They coalesced into a dark metal mask that covered its face.
Sizzle sizzle sizzle~
The sound of flesh searing emanated, and a faint scent of roasted meat filled the air. Tula raised his head abruptly, a pained scream escaping from beneath the mask.
The moment this black metal mask covered Tula’s face, the Abyssal Chains that bound it shattered with a clang, dissolving into strands of Abyssal energy that quickly merged into Tula’s body.
Previously withered and weak, Tula regained its strength. With its black wings unfurled, it stood on the ground, black energy continuously seeping from its body, and an overwhelming aura emitted from it.
A pained expression surfaced on Kekaul’s face, and he closed his eyes tightly, constantly reciting hymns with his head lowered.
Tula turned its head. Its once-golden eyes were now blood-red. It glanced at Kekaul, who was still bound by the Abyssal Chains, and spoke lowly with a hoarse voice, “I’m waiting for you!”
After speaking, Tula strode towards the tower exit.@@novelbin@@
Tears rolled down Kekaul’s cheeks. He knew that he had lost a companion forever. In the past hundred years, their mutual encouragement helped them persevere.
Now he was alone, and Kekaul didn’t know how much longer he could hold on. His wings had been eroded into a light gray, and he felt himself losing strength each day, while Abyssal forces slowly infiltrated his body.
It was at this moment that Kekaul suddenly spotted a figure materializing in mid-air.
Song Jian deliberately terminated his stealth and appeared in front of Kekaul.
“You’re…a human?” Kekaul could hardly believe his eyes. In this Abyssal Hell filled with demons, seeing a human being made Kekaul think he was having a hallucination.
“Yes, respected Angel. I am indeed a human!” Song Jian bowed to Kekaul and replied with a smile.
“How did you come here?” Kekaul asked in astonishment, “This is the Abyssal Hell, where there are demons everywhere…”
“I am following the guidance of the Goddess of Dawn’s believer, High Priestess Cecilia, and have come here to seek the Demon Lord’s Abyssal Demon Flame!” Song Jian responded.
He didn’t know which god Kekaul worshipped, but he could ascertain that the god Kekaul worshipped must belong to the same righteous faction as the Goddess of Dawn.
“Demon Lord?” Kekaul furrowed his brows slightly and sighed softly, “As far as I know, all seven Abyss Demon Kings have already fallen…”
System: You’ve discovered the Demon Guardian Temple. The mission “Last Wishes of the Seven Demon Lords” will begin its next phase;
System: Please talk to “Imprisoned Angel Kekaul” and gather information about the fall of the seven Demon Lords;
Song Jian glanced at the system prompt and pursed his lips.
The so-called Demon Guardian Temple in the mission must be the abandoned area previously buried beneath Broken Stone Mountain. Song Jian entered but hadn’t discovered the Guardian Temple until he found the two angels. Clearly, the mission’s requirements went beyond simply discovering the temple; Song Jian had also to locate the critical mission NPC.
It seemed that the angel Kekaul in front of him was indeed the critical mission NPC for this epic mission.
“If it also fell like Tula and became a Fallen Angel, I wonder how this mission will proceed!” Song Jian mused silently.
In reality, this epic mission indeed had the possibility of failing from the get-go. If Song Jian hadn’t arrived within the time limit, Kekaul would’ve followed in Tula’s footsteps and succumbed, becoming a Fallen Angel in at most one day. By then, no matter how thorough Song Jian searched the area, he wouldn’t have been able to complete the quest.
“The Seven Demon Lords have already fallen?” Song Jian raised his eyebrows and asked softly, “Respected Angel, could you please explain in detail how the Seven Demon Lords perished?”
The white finger bone in his inventory shone brightly. Ever since accepting this epic mission, Song Jian had known from the mission’s name that the seven Demon Lords had fallen. His current inquiry was just to continue along the mission’s path.
With a sigh, Kekaul recounted everything he knew about the fall of the Seven Demon Lords to Song Jian.
Apparently, a hundred years ago, an incredibly powerful human had trespassed into the Abyssal Hell, causing immense destruction. The Demon Slayer Canyon was said to have been created by this human and the Demon Lord during an intense battle.
The human’s reckless actions eventually angered the rulers of the Abyssal Hell. The seven Abyss Demon Kings challenged the human in unison. As a result, after a great battle, the Kings perished while the heavily injured human vanished without a trace.
Kekaul and Tula were just ordinary twin-winged battle angels who ventured into the Abyssal Hell for training. Yet, they were extremely unlucky. During a demon hunt, they inadvertently got too close to the battlefield where the Demon Lords fought, and the aftermath of the battle gravely injured them. They were subsequently captured and imprisoned at the Demon Guardian Temple until the present.
It took Kekaul more than twenty minutes to relay all the information that Song Jian required.
System: You’ve learned the truth about the fall of the Seven Demon Lords. The next step of the mission has begun. Mission content: Save Angel Kekaul!
“Human, can you rescue me from the binding of the Abyssal Chains?” Kekaul pleaded hopefully, “If you set me free, I am willing to become your companion in the Abyssal Hell and assist you in battle until you leave the Abyssal Hell!”
…
What do you think?
